The time required to simultaneously move the data between the two chipsets imposes a significant overhead and bandwidth issue in graphic intensive applications. Of course, the hacked drivers also create additional slowdowns. ;)Quote:

I think the scores are limited due to the 4X slot and it's also running through southbridge compared to the 16x running straight from northbridge which hurts the performance even more.
I guarantee that if the 4x slot was running from northbridge aswell, the performance would have been a lot better
Well I am new to this forum and found out about 85.96_mod.
I had an extra 7900GT so decided to run SLI on my p5b dlx (non-wifi).
Here is my machine spec.
http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=121907
I OCed my 7900GT to 550/1600 from coolbits. and here is result.
It is very dissapointing that I only get 1800 more than I run with one 7900GT.(SLI bridge is intact)
I noticed that the master card is 10-15+ hotter than the slave card. Is this normal for SLi?
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=517497
Here is my single card bench
3DMark Score 5688 3DMarks
SM 2.0 Score 2217 Marks
SM 3.0 Score 2180 Marks
CPU Score 2837 Marks
Well obviously 4x is bottlenecking my results. Also I noticed that when I run Age of Empires 3, I only get 32FPS compared to 60FPS with one 7900GT. Furthermore, BF2 is experiencing lower FPS than sigle card. What is going on here? I get plus points running 3dmark06 with SLI setup, but games get lower FPS when I run in SLI mode.
If you read this article you'll find out it is probably more a driver problem then hardware!
O.K. the score could be even closer to twice the single score, but this one reaches it quite well!! If Xfire could do this kind of scores, SLI should be able to match these scores at least!
SO has anybody figured out the bug in the system yet for 965 and SLI? was seriously thing of 2 7900GTOs in SLI instead of a X1950XTX if the bugs are worked out.
I don't know if the situation has changed with the latest bios that "enhances CF performance" but if u want a safer bet go with 975X or with a X1950XTX. My :2cents:
I think the X1950XTX is my choice as I already have the board - just thought 2 GTOs would be fun as I have a GT at 651/1700
My first try used modded driver 85.96. Seems to work in CSS and BF2.
E6600@3.0ghz
can you try 3DMARK '05? Anybobdy else have any different results?
Try here. You should be able to find what You desire there. :DQuote:

3Dmark05 Results tested after 2 hours of CSS, antivirus etc. running in background while testing.
PLEASE HELP! I really need to know if it has been figured out since I want to add another 7900gt to my system but if it is not worth it I will not do it - what about a single X1950XTX? what kind of a jump would I see from my 7900gt at 651/858?
help? you just saw 2x7950gt's working. am i missing something?Quote:

SORRY- I thought it would be a greater difference in '05 as I am at 11434 right now w/ one 7900gt at 651/868 what drivers were you using?
Ok I had broken down and bought another 7900gt - the only problem is that the old evga sli bridge that I have is too small - where should I get another one (the asus flex type)? although I am getting 12815 without it on 3dmark '05
using 85.96 drivers from big sam. i need sli bridge also.
that 3dmark05 score 14,688, 2x BFG 7950gt OC'S at 565/769 with the 85.96 drivers. i've had no problem with these drivers whatsoever.
FSB max volts
NB max volts
SB v1.7 one setting below max
ICH set Auto
Swiftex your pic is gone and I can't remember what you had but I gut got 14,744 '05 marks on my BFG/eVGA 7900GT setup (6400@3.4GHz and the cards at 589/876) now my question is do I need a sli bridge 4sure? lets race Swiftex lol:)
that seem kinda low did u OC 7950??
i go to 9002 , and 9011 once wiht my 7800TX SLI . hopefully i i can play games until Q1 2007 : )
3d mark 06 - 9002
with 7950 u should get like 10500 after OC, both CPU and GPU
Please set 1600x1200, 4x/16x and full quality/full textures and run the CSS stress test :)Quote:
