Sorry, I don't know where to post this. If this is in an innappropriate place mods can move it somewhere.
I also have a P5B Deluxe and an E6600, and I'm trying to OC it.
I'm the newb of newbs, and each time I've tried tweaking a setting on my board for OC, it won't POST. I had to set the vDimm to 1.9V for the sake of my RAM, but other than that everything is at defaults.
So I tried bumping the fsb from 266 to 300. I figured that wouldn't be much of a stretch considering that's only 2.7GHz. Then it wouldn't POST and I had to start over. Then I tried the exact same thing, but turned my memory speed down to DDR2-667. Same deal.
Am I missing something here? I have dual-primed my machine at stock speeds overnight. It appears perfectly stable and the temps are very reasonable (from AiSuite: 35C/50C, from Coretemp: 41C/56C).
I'm running BIOS 0507, and my specs are in my sig (except right now I'm only using 1 GB stick of RAM since the other is bad. Will be replaced by Corsair XMS this evening). Thanks for any help you can give.
