Just waiting on my videocard arriving:toast:
I tested my Tuniq tower yesterday with a 70w Pelter and my 200cfm Papst 6212nm fan. In the past when I have tried to air cool the Peltier the inefficient nature of air cooling would mean that it would cool down and then heat soak would mean temps would rise.
The Tuniq actually managed to keep the Peltier 5C down under ambient which is not bad going at all and shows how heatsinks have come on over the years with more surface area and heatpipes. However of course there is no cpu involved with my test, I do not fancy it's chances with 70w plus 50-100w as well, never mind a "proper" 200+w Peltier. To me Peltiers are only good with chilled water cooling and if you have that then why bother ?
But the Tuniq did the business.. now I just need a Conroe to stick it on. I have the feeling it's going to do pretty well.
Regards
Andy
peltier+liquid nitrogen anyone?
let's drop it another handful of degrees below zero. ROFL!
isn't that really the problem for many of us though? ;)Quote:

i'm wondering if the e6300 will hit $150 anytime soon lol
I spoke with Paul from Sunbeam they'll be in the states on the 15th of september . An Aussie reseller is claiming to get new stock on the 8th or 9th but to me isnt worth the hassle of international shipping and jsut wait for the new US shipment. Plus I see from mounting pics the tuniq is mounted horizontally I'd liek to mount it vertically so it would benefit from my case fans.
Yeah, as it stands i think its kinda silly. Alot of air is getting re-circulated that could possibly just be blown right out of the rear exhaust fan. But a few questions...Quote:

Cheers.
i have my Tuniq facing upwards, so the fan blows the air towards my rear case fan
the stock fan performs quite well, not much in the way of vibrations or whiny motor noise, i only really notice the sound of the air blowing thru the fins
And is there anyone that can answer Rickster's question? Im curious about this myself, with being about to buy an X2 and after hearing all the stories of poor IHS contact and resulting limitation of the one core.Quote:

Well the UK shortage will be fixed soon as OcuK should be getting them in asap :woot:
Now start spending, and pushing your cpu's to their limits :D
Where can we get one in the states. i want one too :( .
I'm wondering when the Tuniq will arrive on U.S. shores.
I would join the group buy and get a Tuniq.
The delivery for New Zealand is sitting on the docks in China... So you may find that There is one for the US also.
Calling all UK Tuniq lovers - expect stock in the UK in two weeks time! (ocuk)
I am looking for something better than my Arctic freezer 7 pro, at the mo im about 60c load on it. Will a Tunic tower be better? and quiet?
Yes and Yes.
Tuniq is the best air cooler out there... fan isnt quiet at full speed but it is at lower rpm's and still cools quite well.
I'll probally go for one of these then, I was gonna get that new Titan amanda but some say its not worth it over the Tunic. Why do ocuk allways charge more though the gits.
I heard on the Grapevine that the Tuniq Tower 120 is EOL
What does EOL mean?
End of Life.
I hope you are right cuz I'ma be surfing the usual sites on Friday!Quote:

"Paul from Sunbeam"'s auto email reply now says Sept 30th for the US.
Disaster - ocuk isn't expecting stock now until early October. I wont be able to get one :(.
