i really don't!
X1900XTX and crosfire is good, they were pretty much able to hold out untill r600 in december...
money making perhaps?
every company has its chance with a flagship card and adding a "50" to it
7950gx2 for example
so now its 1950xtx
see the resemblence?
:p:
yup just a way to bump sales in between design cycles.
im happy. My X1900XTX outperforms their test even when overclocked. Watercooling is my best friend :) No need to upgrade until DX10, that is for sure.
May be they wanted to try out GDDR4 on a GPU that they already have first and not try somthing new for R600.Quote:

Not $399...gouging -> $449 to $499..
Pls don't get your hopes up. This 512MB GDDR4.

Too bad it won't come in at $399. That price is pleasing to the wallet. Much more so than $449 - $499.
I could rationalize that purchase if the Crossfire performance were kicked up as well.
QFT my fellow ontario friend.Quote:

Anyways back to the topic......maybe Shamino can shed some light to why the 7950GX2 benchies are so far off other sites? Does High Quality AF mode really kill Nvidia that poorly? I am presuming other websites use the default NV Quality mode, which causes noticable shimmering?
It also means quit :banana::banana::banana:ing talking, but most of the time it is quoted for truth.Quote:

Plus, x1900's are being phased out and will probably drop in price significantly in the next month, not just because of x1950, but because of G80, just like the x1800's did with the release of x1900/g71. I don't think it's crazy that this will replace the x1900xtx at a similar price point, and the 256mb x1950xt will replace the x1900xt spot, making a more easily comparible line to the 7900gtx/7900gt. Just think of the 1950's as the x1900's were to the x1800's. Noone thought the x1900 would be available, at or below MSRP at launch either (Even though it was reported, as this is, that it will be), but it was. What's the differance this time, other than we have a card using a core that has been in production for a year and slow-speed (comparitively speaking to what can be done) next-gen memory that has also been in production for a year?
Sorry to rant, but ya'll are such pessimists. :p:
This doesn't change the fact G80 is coming unbearabley soon, will have DX10 and prolly stomp it...but surely that's not the point as this is in a different market, as G80 will be more than $100 more expensive (and the GT will prolly not be out right away). This is competing against the 7900gtx/7900gt, and will depreciate as they do. If you knock this on the merrit of being dx9, you have to do the same for the beloved cheap x1950pro everyone is waiting for to exceed the value of the 7900gt (which may have similar price/performance value come October). Everything will drop one notch upon G80's release, surely this is no exception.
I knew I'll be putting my credibility on the line if I published the review with the figures I got, and I went on to rerun some of the tests 3 times. Settings were checked, multi-gpu on, image best quality, 4xaa 16xaf, no aa 16xaf, rest I left at stock settings.Quote:

For the X1950XTX I can only rerun it again when I get the card since I've had to return it to my contact for the time being.
who is your "contact"?Quote:

I never doubted your credibility when reading the review. Kudos on re-running though.
