hardware mods are needed for the 0801 bios, unless you have the hardware on board the bios still sets 1.65V max.
I have a new board here, i have NO idea what asus have done but will have a look.
Please don't PM me, I will have to ask if I can post the board changes.

if there is a new Revision i am blowing this peice of :banana::banana::banana::banana: up and sending it back to asus in a doggy back for a new rev.

Hey ppl, anyone wanna check if 2 highest Vcore values's still bugged?
1101 fixes all the issues bar C1E as this was designed to work how it does. If you want to raise vcore just disable C1E and all is fine.
Pandamonia...motherboard manufacturers can revise boards how and when they like, you actually talking about defrauding here, with Asus watching this forum i doubt they would rma you now.

1101 was written to address issues freecableguy pointed out to me, this is what I asked.
Some bugs we found in the P5W DH bios.
bugs in Asus P5W DH BIOS 0801 (remaining):
1) C1E set to Enabled locks Vcore selection to auto
2) 1.6875v vcore option sets 1.350v
3) 1.7000v vcore option sets 1.575v
Apart from C1E which is how it is supposed to be the other 2 issues according to my return mail are fixed.

id like to see asus stop me doing anything, they wouldnt know where my rma was coming from who sold it me and who was sending it back.
its not fraud at all. Asus launched a crap board miles away from being ready and also advertising Core 2 duo compatability which was a lie as it wasnt!
from any legal stance Asus are simply not in any possition to be telling any one anything.
tell this to the thousands of people with a less than working motherboard.
selling substandard boards at premium prices to fill a gap in the market when conroe was released.
the consumer has a right to send this junk back. if a new rev is released that fixes such faults every person with an old one should be able to get the new rev as the old one doesnt do what we all paid for it to do.

All i see is a ton of overclocking issues, I don't see many having issues with a none overclocked board and in reality thats all any manufacturer is bothered about.
Now i know they all put overclocking or tweaking on the box...this is just marketing...small print always says no guarantee of any overclcoking, you pays your money you takes your chance!!!
If a board does not clock like you want it to and you decide to damage it and RMA it because of this.....thats plain fraud. XS has rules that cover this and posting your intention to do so is breaking those rules.
Asus can revise a board anytime they like...look at DFI and the Ultra D, something like 10 revs of the same board over its life...they all do it.
Regards the rev of my board here i think its just shipping rev with a small mod applied, I have a feeling the board will remain 1.65 thru bios unless you apply a hard mod which would invalidate any warranty...;)
Best thing to do is just not buy asus products in the furture if your not happy with their products/support.
So is it fair to say then that if we flash our P5W-DH with this modded BIOS (I assume thats the one we're talking about, and not 1101?), and vMCH won't go any higher than 1.65v in the BIOS - then we don't have an ASUS-modded rev 1.03g (?) board?Quote:
