Any ideas how this will work with two 7950GX2?
No... 16 monitors with four quad monitor adapters. ;)Quote:

If this is correct... what is the ETA on the W64? Is it worth the wait? (My E6600 won't ship until mid september at the earliest.)
Thanks

edit: Nevermind, I don't think I want a workstation (PCI-X) mobo anyway... Sorry.
Is this the better board for overclocking a E6600 as the P5WDG2-WS PRO?
I have not looked into theese boards that much yet but to me the seem to have many features in common. So my guess is that they are pretty much the same regarding OC cpu.Quote:

Not w/ 7950GX2's but it looks like you can put in four 7900GTX's or even perhaps four G80 single slot cards which would be faster than the 7950GX2's, assuming that quad SLI will work with it. But this is only if you plan on using this as a graphics workstation. The board also looks to have a lot of potential for raid as well pci-e is MUCH faster than pci-x, and for raid cards you can create some pretty cool arrays here. Heck, even if the slots are only 8x pci-e, that's more than enough even for a 10GbE network card per slot. ;)
Only wish they used SAS controllers on the mainboard opposed to SATA that way we could plug in either SAS drives and/or SATA drives at will instead of just SATA drives.
This is the board that's got all my attention. :slobber:
Does this board have 4 16x-PCI-E-Lanes? Or?
Nothing official yet that we can see. There's a lot of speculation on that subject. From the name of the board P5W64 WS it _appears_ that it will have 64 lanes. I think everyone here is hoping that it's 16lanesx4 but we'll see as soon as we get an official update from asus.Quote:

You have the link for the manual? I'm just seeing the BIOS link. I want to check that myself as there is not even 1 16x that you're saying? That just doesn't make much sense.Quote:

Not as good as my hopes, but at least that makes more sense. I don't get the the 4x there (are the other 4 channels being used by the onboard nics or something?) But even w/ 4x that's enough to power a 10GbE card.Quote:

NVidia, much to my dismay have disabled the quad in anything which is not SLI. Thus the WS Pro doesn't work. It causes a nice stop error though when the 4th graphics driver installs, and tries to start.Quote:

Norweigan etailer showing an ETA of 18th Sep 2006 - but a whacking great big price. Check out the XE.com conversion for your own currency!!!
 What is max. Vdimm??? I saw it limited at 2,4 volt on the P5WDG2-WS.
Hi blossa, you here!Quote:

just so you know the marvel interface for the sata controller for the 3 internal and one external sata ports ain't that great, I had three drives hooked up to it in normal sata mode (no raid) and when I attempted to write to one, extract to another and defrag the third I got pauses in event viewer that effect windows to the point of being unusable, I looked for an updated driver but was unsuccessful
Th intel one is great, I bought 2 cheap ide to sata adapters for my DVD-RW drives, a lite-on and a plextor, and they work great on the intel sata ports, the marvel will not recognize the drives at all.
V-DIMM Max 2.4V
V-MCH Max 1.8V

hehe in case this board can handle it, sure wouldnt be a problem getting 4x x1950XTX into it.. - Just a matter of using some working tools too cut some of the metal off..Quote:

So in this case I won't need FSB 478 - then P5WDG2-WS Professional should be best buy for me.
What do You think ???
