I am sorry you feel that way. I have no problems with Serge at all . Fact is he is entertaining as all hell. He or I do nor resort to cussing in threads. As many immature people do. But I have a problem with A few things he states.
1). He passes the chipset limit of 280. More like he went buy the O/C limit of the CPU. As I can link to few reviews that show this limit. Than he goes on to say 3.0 ghz is possiable with minor volt increase and even suggest 3.5 GHZ is in the realm of poosiabe. Now this is pure fud.
2) After my first post which was not a post crap. He goes on to say that AMD is more feature rich than Intel and says that its more future proof with is more fud.
a.) New M/B required to go from DDR to DDR2. New M/B required to go from DDR2 to DDr3.
Here is a link that shows the New RD600 chipset . Notice on second page were it states a new M/B is required to use DDR3.
http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/93..._ie/index.html
So if anything AMD is as bad if not worse in the area of upgrade ability.
AMD is fully aware that new M/B is required to use DDR3 but they never ever mention it. The CPU may be DDR3 ready on K8L but new M/B is still required.
We all know Intel cpu's are in constant flux when it comes to Chipsets and new memory . Intel adopts these new memory platforms early on .While AMD sets back and waits till things mature. If Intel did the same thing we wouldn't be pushing forward we would be in a state of lets everyone wait and see.
If you can't see that your head is stuck in more than sand.
Now having said this . Until we see Bench marks of serge's wonder chip . I suggest He post 3Dmark 06 benchies . as this one requires that in order to complete test . CPU test must be completed. Than we can see if its even stable enough to complete this test.
Check out the ORB 3dmark 05 vs. 3Dmark o6 . Many systems that pasted 3D mark o5 cann't complete the test at same O/C's
From what I have reasearched 2.7 on the 3800 is really pushing Stability to the limit and has little to do with any thing holding the 3800 back other than the 3800 is just plain at its limits with air cooling.
So ya you say I thread crapped I say I called the thread fud and added my own Fud of this I am guility.
I agree the 3800 is a great value for the money. But its not equal to the 6300 Conroe in value or Performance. I no this is the AMD side of the forum and I may have upset. a few kids. But many of these threads can be googled and this kind of fud from serge is just plain fud. So XS is not the only ones affected by such fud.
Can you imagine some kid readying that some O/C at extreme said 3.5 is a doable O/C with the 3800 . I am sorry that is just plain ass wrong. It can also lead to some kid being very disappointed about spending what little money he has on 3800 to try and achieve an O/C that is not stable period.
I don't see the other XS o/c here saying that some off their very excellant O/C are 24/7 stable. I would very much like to see what the max O/C some of the guru's here can achieve. With this 3800 chip . The top O/Cers here are way more honest about what they do to achieve these O/C's .
Ya I am sorry you feel my first post was a thread crap. It wasn't at all . I merely pointed out what ever AMD has to offer as far as value and performance is surpassed by Conroe. If thats a thread crap . I call shines.
Latter on I did thread crap . But only after Serge added more FUD to an already fud thread. You didn't see Serge reply using cussing as a red herring . In fact Serge stayed in the spirit of things by using bantering. I give him credit for that. As a last resort many children will resort to name calling as a defense. But Serge nor I use these. So yes i went OT and used red herring and bantering as a thread crap. Just as many debaters do inorder to drive home a point.
Point is the 3800 is a great value but it has a CPU threshold . AT around 2.7. Before it becomes unstable. That has little to do with the memory or chipset used. The Conroe 6300 offers way better performance for about $60 more in cost compared to an AM2 X2 3800.
The new AMD fan-boy defense of gaming performance is Who uses 1024x768 for gaming . The ans is for casual playing I use Hi res. When I want to kick ass I dropp to 1024x768.
Many say anything above 30-60 frames a second is not visual more fud.
If your play single player ya I agree. . But most people enjoy online first person shooters. with 50 players. I like playing BHD online and I like to keep my fps @ 260 0r higher. It makes a huge differance that I can easily see.
Hows that well if I am gaming at 250+fps and an oppenient is running at 100 frames a second What do I see I see them lagging. Lag is a huge online easy to see performance disadvantage.
For instance A player is running around a building corner and I see the player before he even gets to the corner because he lags . I can take a shot at the lag ghost player or I can wait for the real player to round the corner.
So people saying anything above 60fps isn't noticeable is pure FUD . You see it as lag. Now learning how to play agaist a lagging openant thats all in player skills . But to say its not visual to you above 60 fps is an out and out lie. I think more reviews done real world as Kyle @ [H] says is pure BS. Kyle should test online gaming than at Hi res. Can't get more real world than that. If he uses a res that will limit his FPS I would frag his ass to hell and beyond.I would also talk to him durring game play calling him a lagger and what not to further frustate his futile attempt of high res online gaming. Real world indeed . These review sites have got to quite sucking up to the companies who's products they test and stop lieing to the public.
So yep I went OT or did I ? ANything above 60fps is useless that is fud and a lie. I suppose there are a few players out their that play with themselves a lot. But real world to me and millions of others out their is online gaming and Max FPS is visable in the form of lag.
