Thanks Dumo.. if my next P5W DH sucks, time for a DFI.
What do you mean next ??, have you already fried one or did it commit suicide  :)Quote:

Apart from not being able to use my 3rd HDD as a bootable install like you can with the NF4 chipset (intel suck hard, ICH7 :stick: ) I have no problems with the board though only using an 820D ATM that for some reason on this board has now become an 830D  :DQuote:

look nice alpha0ne. Do you think it'll "transform" my D930 to E6700? :p: :p:

Eva2000 has been testing/torturing it for the last few hours with no problems at all so it seems that all the blood, sweat and tears is down to the DFI Infinity 975X/G :( :slapass:
dfi have just posted new bios 31/07 for dfi infinity 975 x , i have installed i think only difference is the cpu info and ram info is now correct in posting screen but still stuck 400fsb :( ,

will post this on a couple of the other threads regarding bios updates
Hi guys, Hope this isn't a really stupid question but..... I have a X6800 on the same board but I can't get my CPU Volts higher than 1.3???? That's the highest option the board gives me. Does anyone know why??
Many thanks,
eOn.
i'd ask dumo on this thread as he has a x6800, i must admit i have viewed many posts about the dfi 975 and have not seen anyone else with the same problem i would probably advise to reflash the bios and use the 31/07 bios
Yep that's what I thought, so I have tried both the new BOIS and the last one. Both only give me 1.3Volts MAX. There i one thing. On my PCP&C 510 PSU I only have a 4 Pin P4 connecter. Now the DFI has an 8 pin version. Dumo are you using a 8 pin P4 connector?? Maybe that's why I only get 1.3 Volts. It does say in the manual that it's OK to fit a 4 pin version but it never explains the difference if you don't!
Thanks.
Any ideas? Dumo? I wanted to figure this out before fitting my mach 2gt to it. Also I only get x11 multi in my CPUZ why do you guys get (x6 x11)?? I know it makes no difference and mine will change from 6 to 11 but I never see both like in your screen shot. Does this have anything to do with it?
I would really appreciate some help with this. Thanks in advance.
hmmmm... Looks like i need to get my hands on this board as well... everything need to be tried in the search of the needed speed...P5W DH doesnt quite seem to cut it...
Great mate but if you do get one can you let me know if you get the full V Core settings?? I only get up to 1.3V!!!
I used 8 pins psu and bios 0707. Can you try it with different psu?Quote:

It's very odd that a PCP&C would not supply enough Volts. But does that sound like it's the problem, would that cause the motherboard to not allow me to select more than 1.3v?
Right this is driving me mad. I have plugged in an 8 pin 12 volt and I still only get up to 1.35 volts.
Now am I being really daft? These are the options I see in my BIOS:
CPU VID Offset (up to 787.5mv) Do I need to use this as well as the CPU voltage to get more than 1.35?? (I'm sure this won't work, isn't 1000mv in a Volt)?
CPU VTT Voltage setting (Up to 1.35v)
DRAM Volt
NB Volt.
OK so are you setting yours up to 1.7 in the CPU VTT or do you add on the CPU VID Offset???
Thanks in advance.
Tom.
Maybe its like 'Special CPU VID Control' ?Quote:

You would try a small increase of CPU VID Offset, and look at the voltage.
:)
Heres with bios 0707, Stock HSF/water cooled chipset, E6400...Vmch/Vfsb mods disabled (so it runs with stock Vs)

hi ndumo i am another one whos persevered with this board i have now got a step 5 e6700 to help get over the fsb wall its a qpga , i know you had one it boots into windows and seems stable at 3900 but fails prime instantly but needs 1.325 =.325 in volts in bios (1.65) prime stable at 3780 at a lower voltage , my e6600 ran at 1.5 volts 3600 prime stable with 400mhz divider and corsair 8500 at 3 3 2 1 any tips to get the most out of motherboard and cpu i am watercooling by the way, thanks for the info you had already given us as it got me to 400fsb stable with the dfiQuote:

Glad to hear that Glenboy:toast:
I dunno what is that turbo options really do, my guess it added speed internally.
Nice going there with 450+ fsb on the dfi! :toast:
PS: did you see my pm ?
cheers dumo how the hell did you get past the fsb wall on the dfi, also i knwow you had a qpga e6700es step 5 cpu i have just installed mine and over 3700 it seems to need mega volts 3820 1.625 in bios and 3900 need 1.65 but temps under load go crazy with these volts although idle is still 44 ish any insight thanksQuote:
