All I did was install the software "enabled power on when power loss" and all is well. I can turn on the PC from the remote now.
I was having many problems with the remote until I unplugged every device and it worked. I then eliminated what devices didn't cause a problem and it turns out my bluetooth dongle was installing a driver for a remote. Once I disabled that the remote worked perfectly.
I had the remote sensor thing plugged into the top USB (the one with the sticker over it saying, "Please plug remote thingie into one of these") and finally just installed the drivers, and works perfect. :P
Anybody have any tips for making this boards performance better? Mostly boot times.. mine suck =/.
I've the same problem. I didn't installed the WiFi antenna, nor the drivers. I wanted this board mainly for the Remote Control capability, but now I'm very disappointed, since it's always disconnected.
Do I need the Wifi elements in order to use the DH Remote.
Please help.
Adam
I was going to be using p5w dh in a btx style orientation (upside down) in a Lian Li pc-v2100plusII and i learned that it wont be good for the board because the heat pipes wont work upside down.Quote:

Howdy mates,
I have so much problem with this remote it reminds of ducksheit!
The remote is 100% disconnected !!!
Further, for some obscure reason WinXP lacks the HID-compliant (whatever) alternative in "devices"
Wuzz up with that?
Has anyone else encountered this Microsoftcromosometomany problem?
I need your help mates!

I dont know why you're having issue with this. I just installed my remote again. All I did was plug it into the bottom usb closest to the audio ports(the one the sticker said to) It recognized as HID compliant blah..blah I loaded the default remote driver from the disk and rebooted. I have 2 remotes on this board and they both work fine.Quote:

Hi,
sorry to bring back an old thread,
I was wondering, does anyone else have problems with the computer hanging for about 5 seconds when pressing the "noise off" button? If i have sound playing, it sounds just like when the CPU or RAM have malfunctioned (I know it's not the CPU or RAM, I've tried swapping them and get the same problem)
Also, my setup never wakes up fully from the ez-wifi mode. tapping the keyboard makes the displays power up, but the main display is all black. I have to open task manager and kill AsRC.exe to get back to the desktop, but then the remote doesn't work anymore and my case fans are all off.
I'm wondering if there's any way to get the remote control software installed without any of the fancy power management features? I don't want my power button to launch ez-wifi, I want it to power off the PC!
Like for example when you install the remote on a non ASUS computer, the play/+/-/>>/<< buttons work fine, but pressing ez-wifi pops up a message about 'not ASUS' or something.
Hello friends, i have one question for you.
I have home a computer based on Asus Commando motherboard. A few days a go i buyied a pc for my brother, based on a Asus P5B Premium Vista Edition. This mobo came with ScreenDuo & Ai Remote.
My brother said that he won't need them so i tryed to install them on my Asus Commando motherboard.
Asus Screen Duo is working without a problem.
But i have problems with Asus Ai Remote. I plug the cable in usb, Windows XP SP2 find the drivers for it. But when i try to install the software for it, it gives me an error.
Do you have any ideea if those remotes should work on any Asus motherboard, or just on Vista Edition motherboards.
Thank you very much.
Iulian

I have the the same problem with Noise Off .... think it has something to do with USB ports, as the same thing happened to me one time I pluged in my phone in the front USB port. Only solution so far is to pause the music (through remote:p: ) and then hit the Noise Off buton ...
...don't have problems with power button, and I don't use Easy WiFi...
ONE WARNING : do not play with remote toooo much, as inner coating of the front part is bad quality and it can desintegrate on the places you press it the most (center of the button ... ). I lost my + and > signs :(
