To further complicate matters, I've got the first 60 or so of thier 6600's going to us.

We've been taking pre-orders for about 5 days now, and we are not promising any specific date, just for this reason. I'm assuming I'll have them by the original July 27th date, but it remains to be seen. I'd say it's good to assuming the original launch date, and not get too excited if people claim to have them before then :)

No Core 2 Duo until the 24th July guys.

Intel does plan to announce the release first (NDA will also end) but the actual ship date or release date for stores to sell will be a few days later.

This is the info I got from a reliable source.

Aw, c'mon. Ship 'em on the 14th!

What I've heard here in Belgium is that shipping is allowed from 23rd of July. That would be from the local retailers. Question is how big the availability from large distributers will be by that time.

Hopefully the NDA for reviews is the 14th and the release is the 23rd. There's too many dates and too many people want them.

So basically, major review sites have them now, but can't review them until the 14th? But lots of people here on XS have them... are you guys allowed to review them?

Most people who have them now did not sign NDA agreements with Intel, so yea.

Seems that conroe will be released @ my summer vacations. Great homecoming gift... :)

One of my usual retailers told me yesterday they have a 14th July as launch date, though he didn't assured me he could/would send me one that day :D

Now The INQ says a July 13th night launch. If that's true, then we're on the really slow last week before launch. I plan to sell my 302 D975XBX, so I'll get the mobo right away, but depending on how well my 930 sells, I may not have Conroe at launch!!

Interesting, although it is way overpriced, I just received a "in stock" email notification from EastLuna on the e6800. they showed 10 in stock at the time. No 6700's yet though. I wonder if they really got some. Anyway they are price gouging quite a bit nonetheless.

Anybody done any business with EastLuna to know if this is real or just a trick to tie up your money?

Not out of line compared with ES. 6600=$500-600. 6700=800+

At least if this dies, there is a warranty.

As said before, Intel already ship C2D to reseller, but can't sell them before July 27th.

If this store ship it before, I guess he might have some problem with future shipment :p:.

The fair price on the 6800 should be 1050ish not 1170ish.

anyway eastluna policy says You will not be charged until your order has been shipped.

It looks like the X6800 is coming out first!!!

It looks like Luna were able to convince their distributer to only ship 3 of the e6800's that they originally showed 12 of. Most likely someone jumped the gun because they also were hearing 7/14 as nda release day. In any case they sent me a tracking # for mine since I was one of the first 3. We'll see what shows up. I just hope it's not an ES and if I'm really lucky maybe it will be the new stepping, but somehow I doubt it. I'll let you know what shows up about wed or thurs.


From their web site (for what is worth):

"To our surprise, the warehouse got these CPU's in stock early. Hey, we couldn't believe it either, but they were in stock. However, they did mess up on the stock count. They told us they had 12 of these in stock, so we put our customer’s orders in first to avoid any problems. Then they turn around and say they only could give us 3 because of a stock error. Thinking of our customers, let's just say we were VERY upset about this, and we will leave it at that. Foul language wasn't exchanged, but they should have been a little more careful seeing that a lot of customers were waiting for this CPU to be released.
