MDF for the win :)
One of cheaper wood, very heavy, awesome vibration dampner, cracks bit easy with shock so have to be careful, works awesome with wood glue, darned easy to cut cleanly. They use it a lot for professional speaker enclosure due to sound absorbing and vibration absorbing characteristics :)
Looking very nice Bazx :) Is this going under your awesome looking test bench setup you showed while back? :)

hi jin and nol

i used a brad gun to fire in 1 inch brads like a small pin

i am unsure what hardyboard is to be honest nol i have a feeling mdf has been band in the US due to the dust

i have a LD cascade case on the way and will be putting cascade 3 together soon and hopefully that will fit on my oc bench

nice nail... MDF can creak up so easily with screws that I always use glue for it :) Works awesome... had really hard time destroying custom case I made while back out of MDF and wood glue... it just won't come out so I had to use demolition hammer basically.

once glued it is very strong

the trick with screws is to always pre drill the hole for the screw

clearence for the top and a tap size for the screw
