Thats close, only 9s better
thanks mate... so memset shown timings are the ones by default when you boot up from 9x423fsb 1:1 4-4-3-8 ? they look alot tighter than what bad axe boots up with.. guess it depends on the ram and board
yeah 9 seconds diff for 9x423.1fsb 2GB ram vs 9x423.35fsb 1GB ram
If I have time later this week, I will try the same test with my Corsair 8000UL's which are 2X512MB. The RAM used in the above test, Corsair 6400C3, will run at 3-3-3 at that speed. 4-4-3 are fairly relaxed timings.
I've used the Bad Axe. The P5W DH is faster clock-for-clock, at least in SuperPi. There's no doubt about that in my mind. It will beat the Bad Axe in SuperPi 32M every time.
thanks sierra.. much appreciated :D
Best air-cooled 32M time in world. :)

Hehe that's what I've been saying all along! Great work Sierra! You going cold with this cpu for some 32M?Quote:

What were your ram timings on that run? I was able to do 12m 20.xxxs @ 4249 ram at 4-4-4-5 but it looks like you could be faster. :)
I was running 3-4-3-1. And contrary to the myth being spread, timings do matter on the Conroe platform, especially in 32M. ;)
Hehe agreed my friend which is why I asked. ;)Quote:

Hehe, congrats on the WR, but I don't understand how you can live with a time like that. :p: I swore I was gonna do one 32M run and then go to bed my first night playing with Conroe...instead I was up for an hour longer, 13m 10 sec, 13m 08 sec, 13m 03sec...despite my eyes barely being open, I just couldn't let myself go till I broke through the 13m barrier. :D
Believe me, I tried for a couple of days to break 13 mins. on air. But I failed. :( So it's time for SS cooling. :D
Wow, very impressive. Hmm...wonder if Tuniq Tower 120 will fit in a shuttle PC.. might try to jury rig some kind of water cooling.
Upgrading to Conroe definetly seems well worth it for all the fun playing around with memory timings, trying to get sub 13min in SP32M ;)
Any chance you can post shots of your beautiful setup, sierra_bound?
Setup is not so beautiful because I'm not using a case. :D Only the results are beautiful to me. ;)

Who said it had to look beautiful? :)
Fantastic job siera :fact:  :toast:Quote:

Impressive to arrive at 4ghz for air. It hurts that you don't have phase uncambio: (I had liked to see results.
It's my lucky box. :D I may not get to Vmch mod this weekend. SS cooling should allow me to run 32M above 4GHz though.Quote:

That heatsink looks bad ass.Quote:
