also, plan this weekend to recollect some data with an X2 cpu in that system, so you may see what gains etc... there might be from a higher end cpu ;). I will standardize for cpu speeds etc... and post benches. I think what I will do is a short article for my friends at madshrimps then as John is missing me I think :)
Am I missing something? I couldn't find where to change the CPU multi or Memory Divider in bios.

does the m/b chipset affect overclocking? i was thinking of getting tforce 6100-am2 instead of tforce 550. gonna grab a 3000+, but still not pretty sure about the mobo. i'll be running a very basic setup like 1x hdd and 1x optical so i think i don't really need the extra functions offered by nf5 chipset.

I just got the am2 NF4 version from biostar other day. Bios is not as exhaustive as the 550, so I think it will effect ram clocking to a degree. How much? I dunno yet. As far at HTT clocking goes, I'm not sure, I have a feeling the NF4 may excel there, but that's just a guess!
JNav...any insight into why the CPU multi selection isn't working on my Biostar 550?

I've been talking to support at biostar and all they could so was pass me some "confidential AMD documents" (which might be true...couldn't find it on their site yet) which turned out to be the "BIOS and Kernel Developer's Guide for AMD NPT Family 0Fh Processors" (Publication # 32559 Revision: 2.03 Issue Date: April 2006) Which doesn't really help me that much.

if its anything like my tforce 6100 754, it should be great. Got my 3300+ to 2.989 and temps always stay undr 40c, thats why I love semprons, they can do 1.7v and still stay cool. Also, if its anything the same as the 754 board, the actual vcore is a bit under what you set it in bios

I'm stucked at around 280-ish HTT ... darn. There must be something that prevents user to clock HTT more than that... I'm pretty sure. Tried using lower multi but still the same.
And I couldn't find anything that locks the PCI express.
might be like the asrock dual sata had an issue with over 274 htt,ocw beta bios fixed that problem.
My board does 1.95vcore with a moded bios. Mahahahaah... I want to blow a chip one day. But not this one. =P
