Is this a 8x/8x Crossfire or something else?
What is the Crosslink for on this mobo?
Too Bad :/
Will have to choose beetween X38/48 limited OC and P45 limited Crossfire...
Don't forget P45 is PCI 2.0 8x 8x... I hope to see some 4850 scores soon on these P45 boards and be able to compare them to X38/48
There was a bandwidth test on THG that showed there wasn't a noticeable difference in performance going from 16x to 8x, but there was at 4x. I doubt there'd be a big difference for everyday gaming, but I could see hardcore benchers wanting 16x for breaking 3DMark world records.
EDIT: Here's a link to the test: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...-2-0,1915.html
so any idea when this board will be available?
autobots transform...err i mean motherboard :D
I have a p5q3 deluxe on order since I couldn't wait any more and wanted to jump to ddr3. The 3-phase ram and the extra wifi made it more attractive than the ddr2 version too. But I am really curious to know the launch date of this motherboard also.
I do not know much about this stuff but one thing has caught my attention.
All the tests that people are referencing to compare x4 x8 x16 pci-e speeds to help them with their motherboard chipset selection (x48/x38/p45), utilize the older pci-e 1.0 or 1.1 formats. Those tests are either using intel 975x or p35 chipset boards.
p45 chipset has pci-e 2.0 which doubles the bandwidth. So a x8 x8 crossfire configuration on the p45 should perform like x16 x16 on a 975x or a p35 providing more than adequate bandwidth. At least this is what I hoped and assumed when I pulled the trigger on the p5q3.
Plus I am sure before these graphics ports get bottlenecked with any future technology, we will be needing new motherboards for the new intel socket which will be coming out soon.
Say please, where i can buy this supermobo?!
clicky :)
Does anybody know if under the same SB cooler there is any "IDT Crosslinx kind of a chip"? :D
Anybody has or can get some more detailed pics of the "SupremeFX X-Fi Audio Card"?
I want a 2nd opinion on that Tweaktown test... I hope something is not working properly there... or else PCI 2.0 8X 8X is a hoax to me
That tweaktown crossfire review hurts.
The numbers don't make much sense comparing with the other articles. The pci-e 2.0 of the p45 doesn't contribute at all?
The p5q3 will be untouched, ready to go back till I find another test that compares the p45 vs x48 crossfire performance. :(
I wanted a p5e64 ws evo but it was very expensive so I saw p5q3 as my savior. .
what is the best value overclocking CF board? (x38/x48, ddr2/ddr3 doesn't matter) (with my 8 multiplier, I need something good for 500 fsb)
Thanks
wel the asus rampage formula is pretty much the cheapest x48 around.
i own one and you wil get 585 fsb guaranteed. if you lucky higher
and it gives you the 16x16 cf
anyone know where to get this board yet? can't find it on newegg.
im looking to replace my IP35 Pro since it only does Crossfire 16x4, and everthing i have read so far suggest that to be the worst way to go.
guess i'll hunt around ebay
It's not out yet AFAIK
Found it on Ebay :D
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MESE:IT&ih=012
same place that had my video cards, so looks like im in for a little drive ( they are located near by)
Well There are two more sellers on E-bay selling them and they are in San Jose but seem like they ignore my E-mail never reply.
As far as I know it's not out yet, so those guys are just trying to get "preorders" and the money upfront :D
Yup, that must be a preorder situation. There are already shops in google checkout taking orders for e8600s as well - 500 retail 400 oem. I think that's a little steep for those, should be arounf 300 at launch.
I really wish the rest of the DDR3 P45 lineups from Asus and DFI would hurry up and hit the streets though. That Biostar board is teasing me! Must resist more DDR2 boards...
