Closing every prog that's running also improves bandwidthtest a little.

Damn dude that`s friggin great :P
Just a little bit more mhz on the FSB and you have the highest bandwith wit an AMD system (i think)
4 GB can be done :slobber: :slobber: :slobber:
A few people here have already reached 250FSB, and I belive someone reached 267FSB with a Beta BIOS? Although I'm not sure about 4GB/s bandwidth, but it's either just been done, or very close.Quote:

BTW emp I found clock speed is just as important as FSB, so as bias_hjorth mentioned, you may have to raise that mutli. And disabling thermal throttling is very important. Although itn depends on your motherboard, and CPU. I understand the Barton, has internal thermal throttling, so unless the motherboard has the option to disable it, that could be a problem.
yes sandra buffered it's cpu dependent ,that'why some score are higher even at lower fsb
Unbuffered bench are more "real"
Right Space, right.
Next time I'll try an unbuffered bench with Sandra.... ;)
solvet welcome to the xtreme forums, glad to see you here.
Thats some great bandwidth ! ;)
Thanks Major:)
whicked fsb!
I know this is going to sound like a silly question, but how do you find a BIOS which allows above 250MHzFSB? Is this a beta release, or are there many BIOS versions above 250 now, and if so, what are their limit's? 275FSB? 300FSB?
PS: can you tell me where you got that AIUHB2100?
The last bios of all NF7 rev 1.0, 1.1, 1.2 and 2.0 allows above 250MHzQuote:

not tested yet
on fae.abit.com.tw/eng of course or abit-usa.com
the latest bios for v1.1 doesn't allow over 250 here. just FYI
the latest bios for the 2.0 allows 300fsb!..
well Opp. and all you other crasy people.. What are you waiting for?:D :toast:
Ooh I just discovered this thread! :) Some damn nice numbers there, nothing I can compete with, but here's a little 8RGA+ action, no mods whatsoever. :) Vdimm of 2.9 V sux though! :D
http://members.optushome.com.au/mcwb/8RGA+228DC.gif
I like your style! ;) I know this is a chipset limit though, not the RAM (does 245 in my Intel rig), so I shall have to work on that first. :)
I forgot to take bandwidth shots on this OC, but just wanted share my latest. It seems keeping the board at the higher FSB in this case 200FSB, break's in not only the chipset, but the memory. I wasn't able to reach 228 unless my memory was 2-4-4-7, now it's 1=230FSB @ 2-3-3-6! This at 1.8VDD, 2.7VIDIMM. Can't Wait to try OCZ Gold!
Edit: Now i remeber, the Multi was so low I didn't bother running Sandra.
I just wanted to let every one know some of the bus speeds I hit yesterday with the recent purchase of some Hyper x 3500, a NF7-S v/2.0 and a Barton 2500............I hit 246x10.5 and was able enuf to run 3dmark01 this is after only a North bridge mod running 2.1v........the recent move to a chiller that I purchased on ebay for a $100.00 has also dramaticly helped out, temps were 15C in winbond............I have a Swiftek mc50w coming and next weekend I'm moving up to a 9800 that MrZee wil help me do the v/mods too and we are planing on doing the memory mod to the board also...... currantly have a v/moded 9700 thats pushing 20064 in 01 (posted) I couldn't have done this without the help of our team mebers and Mrzee Thanx
If someone can help me about posting screenies :-) Where? URL
I'm now coming to run with the big Dogs. Ruff ........cowpuppy.
That was in DC also :-)
hit 250x10 yesterday. I have screen shots I just cant post them (option is not availible if someone could explain why?) this is in DC still. tried 255 but I think I'll have to do the mem mod to get any higher............I was able to run 03 @246x10.5 w/a mild overclock on the vid card temps were 9C

has anybody reached 4gb yet?
4Gb?!? I think that it is impossible with an AMD sys @the moment or?!?
or is it.. the latest abit bios allows 300fsb... should be enough for 4gb/s
not sure what happened to the other pic
or is it possible? :DQuote:

@saaya this bandwith is'nt for a longer peroid of time i think...:D but who has done this?! You?
greets Estide
well opp. or some other xtreme oc´er ought to do it... mine pc2700 only goes around 234fsb at 2.9V so.. and havent tried with these pc3500 hyperX since I´v got this abit..
a small update
229*11 sync new ram kingston winbond chips bh-5ns ddr 400
no its says on the pic. solvet posted it in this very thread some pages back. he scored so high because of the 3ghz cpu power +250fsb . i actually think that 4gb can be achieved 100% stable. maybe we need another nf2 revision or a new amd stepping (cpu power is very important for high bandwidth scores)Quote:
@saaya this bandwith is'nt for a longer peroid of time i think... but who has done this?! You?
i only reach 2.3ghz (11.5x200) without any mods so far. watercooling for cpu and chipset on the way, got the vr for the vdd mod and everything, but at the moment i dont even have any money for the hoses i still need to buy :( and i always tell myself that i dont have any time to do it, but i end up hanging around in this forum for about 1 hour a day... i should spend that time to finally get watercooled.
i outperform the 3000+ and 3.06 P4 in both of sandras cpu benches but barely reach 3gb/s memory bandwidth :(
Sandra 2003 "needs" more Cpu power to reach high bandwith but i heard that the Cpu power Sandra 2000 is equal :) test it :D
I know your Porblems because thats the same that I have :D
My Cpu is already Watercooled, thank good but there are so many other things i should do (e.g.to leanr for the English class Test tomorrow) but what i do is playing chess with a good friend 4hours a day 7days per week :D But don't talk to much lets Oc´:)

actually i think i can run my 1700+ passive. it runs stable with 1.4v up to 1.5ghz i think! temps are so extremely low that im sure i can unplug the cpu fan (i have a huge heatsink -> coolermaster) and itll run ok. so your getting a 4200 or your getting a 9500np?
vdd mod is pretty easy.
if there is a shop like that close to you go there and ask them! (but watch them carefully, if they dont look very skilled or motivated better do it yourself)
another way if you dont feel confident enough is go to conrad if theres a shop close to you. they have very skilled soldering people and im sure theyll do the job for 5€.
where did you order the kingston ram and for how much? hyper x 3500 right?
lol, mine at 1.52V and 30C h20 ;)Quote:

@saaya I have sold my 9500, now I have an Ti 4200 but this card don't want to go higher then 300/600.. The DLT 1800 I have, seems to be bad too....
I want to do The Mods myself... :)
I bought the Kingston memory from a Forum member of Hluxx(celemine1Gig), and he bought them on Ebay (it's a longer story)
It is 2700 kingston Value Ram with Bh6 Chips
The Forum Meber bought the 2700 Vdata too, so we (He the Vdata and I will test the Kingston)can test the Chips :D
But now back to topic
With an 1700+@1700mhz and an FSB@208 I have an bandwith from 30XX
Have a good day

4g is deffinitely possible. When my 8rda3+ arrives, and I get some LN2, I'm going to shoot for it :)
i think none of the peops here has done the vbt mod right? that should boost max fsb by another 5-10mhz :)
The VBT is for the Vdimm(VBT should be the half of Vdimm) or?!?
sweet
yeah its yet another memory voltage, but since the memory is keeping people from gettng 4gb/s and not the chipset this will really help i think.Quote:

How does this one work? What do I have to do???
Any pics? Clearance would be appreciated... :D
you will need 3ghz cpu and 250 with tight timings to break 4gb/s wall in sandra buffered.
255, theres a screenshot of solvet who has 3ghz+ 250 and only got 3990. well that was with cl 2.5 though i think.

im gonna test pc ice's 2100 for him - i think it still live's
I just fried my first cpu my week 08 that riped a 22024 in 01 but it wouldnt post I riped 3 runs over 22000 and the extra BUMP I got was from enabling cpu interface the bandwith jumped way up and I wich I would have had this enabled when I booted at 255. I need a new 2500 as this one just cant cut it 235x11 and 230 all day long with a 2,06 v/core. anybody want to buy a barton 2500 week 24?
So do I. OCZ is releasing pc4000 also. But I would stick with kingston.

Yeap it is cas2 and i tested this timings with many prg not only sandra

thats VERY GOOD!
Just goes to show you what a capable modification will get you. I consider this to be the hardcore extreme of overclocking, customizing the board, and devices. Hat's off, I'm no where at that level. I'm enjoying what I've minimized as a "purist" overclocker. One does all optimizing from stock equipment. But as I said, that's a fancy way of minizing the fact I'm too lazy to go to Radio Shack, get some diodes, resistors, solder, and familiarize myself with the methods. I give you credit for doing the work. And with 3600MB/s unbuffrered Bandwidth you certainly don't need my congradulations, but you have them.
that is buffered bandwidth liquid ^^
3600unbuffered would need 330fsb on an nf2 i guess hehe
hey liquid... you should get yourself to do some soldering mods its fun believe me :) you know so damn much about the theory and you wont believe how much fun it is to use that theory and apply it on something and learn and understand it better. :D
hehehehe :D
If you dont broke you will not learn:)
but in the end with rhe results you are like that :):):):):):):):):):):):):)

Not happy yet, need more.
I see some NF7-S boards here.. I just got one. I was wondering if anyone could tell me de resistor value for 2.0V Vdd (approx).
The problem is I do not have a multimeter right now so I can't read the voltage. So if someone could say: "well, you need about this much for 2.0V @ 1.7 setting" I would be very happy :) I know 5K gives about 1.8/1.85.
Tnx guys :toast:
Oh btw:
The NB is watercooled so I have some room with the voltage. So if it would give 2.1 it's not a big problem.
Fewture: Just go buy a multimeter. The 15.00 that you will spend will save you a board down the road and make sure that you take the v/reading off the pad. DON'T use the mofset leg to easy to slip and ground out on the middle wich will toat your board.
use this as a guide http://www.motherboardfaqs.com/Abit_nForce2/
Well..I don't need a guide since the mod is already on it for a week now. What I need is the value for 2.0V. I have a multimeter, but a friend has it right now. But I want to see what this board can do and without the resistor value I'm sort of in the dark and that my friend..is stupid.Quote:

So if someone could give me the value i'd be very happy :) I have some resistors that i can use..but no clue in wich config.
5K gives about 1.85V I think.. So does 4K give 1.9V? Or maybe 1.851V.. Thats my point. I dont care if there's 2.1V on it or 2.0. Just as long as it stays below 2.2V it's ok. I can down the voltage in the bios.. When i get my meter i will use a trimmer.
With out a meter how are you going to figure out 4k? Just guess? tell your friend you need your meeter back
would agree.. with the meter and a pot its much easier:stick:
Someone invented colorcodes on resistors :D It helps :p: Right now I have a trimmer on it. But soldered with the 2 pins that always give 5K so it can't be wrong. But that also means i'm stuck on 1.8/1.85V now  I get 225Mhz with this :) (prime95 stable)Quote:

How sure are you on that? I can boot 237 now..but it craps out right when the desktop shows :D That score was with a 1800+ btw.. So what do you mean by modding L12? make it 133 or 166. I now have a 166 cpu and the board goes faster with it..Quote:

Some more action from the same board + Vddr mod + Barton:
http://www.fewture.cistron.nl/img/236sandra.JPG
No thats with the L12 still connected (lets say 166Mhz default). And this was with a Barton 2500+ that would only do 2330MHz.. I got really pissed about that and got another one...that one does 2549MHz :D :toast: Just water.
I also think efficiency is going down on higher fsb
Edit:
Some more specs:
Barton 2500+ @ 2330 2.2V
NF7-S Vddr @ 3.15 (i think) Vdd @ 2.1V
Corair Twinx 11-2-2-2
DD3 clone + BI2 xtreme
Right now my other barton does 11 x 231 @ pifast.. when I rebooted the screen went all white on me.. rebooted again and saw nothing but dots and stripes. Got scared and cleared cmos :D :D omg
Hey Fewture.
With rev2.0 nf7 and 166mhz cpu you don't need any L12 mod :D
Nice Barton btw :)
Yes, thats why i got confused.. And tnx ;)Quote:

Playing around now on MP 10.. board is doing 238 now (237 in bios I think). I get sucky bandwith for this fsb.. 3663MB/s. Whats wrong? Not enough Mhz on cpu?
Settings:
1.95 Vdd
3.15 Vddr
238Mhz @ 11-2-2-2
11 gave me a little more over 6-2-2-2 but not much. Also..with this barton I can boot 238 no problem with only 1.95V Vdd.. The other cpu was also a barton
Strange stuff
Will try 239 offcourse :D
It's because of the multiplier :( 11 and 9,5 would give more bandwidth, I think :DQuote:

Well..some more action then:

Havent tried 9,5 or 10,5. It's good bandwith, but when I see some other scores.. oh well.
This is 240 in bios btw. All seems well and then suddenly instability kicks in :D When I clock back it stays. Ik have to clear cmos and boot again and all is well. Nice ey ;)
I'm pretty happy with this result. Wil try 10,5 x 240 tomorrow. (getting late overhere).
Oh btw: i got a pifast on 11 x 231.. gave me 54.90sec.. Can go a bit faster I think

What timings?
forgot that.. The ocz running at Cas 2-2-2-11. Also took 3 weeks to burn it in.
This is a case where modding the L12 would benefit. It stabilizes the fsb on much lower Vdd. Or put a Barton in it ;)Quote:

I had an 1800+ @ 2435Mhz in pifast. It ran 11 x 221 on 2.1V Vdd. If I used 2.0V Vdd it would crash. Then I had a Barton 2500+ AQXEA week 24. I could get it to 2330MHz (10 x 233) and I improved my score with the 1800+ by 0.02 sec. So much more fsb but also 100MHz les on the cpu.
Great OC btw :toast:
