Actually, I have never tested my 2nd pair alone...they may be better than my first, my first wouldn't do stock speeds of 3-2-2 @ 337MHz @ 2.1V, it needed at least 2.15V to do that.

tRP was 2 and tRCD 3. I played a little with the memory and there was a few more stable MHz if you leaved tRCD unchanged when lowering the other timings. Can't exactly remember what frequencies, but 4-2-2 topped out "long" before 4-2-3.
Don't know if people running 500MHz+ 5-2-2 will gain anything by going to 5-2-3... 500+MHz is so high speed I think other things will limit, but worth a try.

Yeah I get about 3-5MHz more, and another 3MHz or so up to 5-4-2. Nothing to 5-4-3 or 5-4-4. But I find 5-2-2 at the early 500s is way faster.

Btw I use tCl-tRCD-tRP. Same as CPUz, I know Asus does it your way in the bios hence the confusion.

@dinos: I just read, that this guy from HWL had problems with the first version, especially with the RAM settings. I seems to be fixed, maybe also for the boards in serie.

My board is ordered, supplier said hopefully mid auf next week...:rolleyes:

I ordered here: oc-wear.de - well known for their OCing-products

I have 3 RAM-kits here and 1 T2400 waiting since 4 weeks...

And hopefully they dont regret! ECS would be much cheaper, and in my opinion ECS will oc better as they have more expierience with overclocking!

i had a chat with a senior product manager for AOpen products with a distributor here in Australia and in can tell you one thing..........AOpen is pretty serious about this platform....i would give them benefit of the doubt

I wont... but think twice about ecs ;) this aint there first time oc board.. aopen is! and the real benefit is the cost of the aopen... cmon man. 300 euro is way to crazy. and yeahh... i get a remote control and stuff like that.... WHO needs that! i rather pay 200 and wont get all the extra's.

fair point.........no one knows everything....hence they've got some learning to do but if they listen to the right people they will get there sooner

What!!!

I kept my remote from my WifiTV edition p5wd2 prem for nothing.

Remotes are soo cool, no longer need to jump start your boards..just push the button on and she's away. (that's if you remote has an on button - the Asus one's that come with the wifitv do :D)

Jump starting is fine in the benchies, but when it's for your entertainment PC you need a better method to turn her on.

For me is the reason to buy Aopen is early release date. I dont want to wait any longer. ;)
Got a phone call today from Alternate Computer, they deliver it end of next week.

I dont need the remote, but some guys like the FSB Buttons on it.

We will see, how the ECS performs. For the AOPen we have allready results...;)

I talked to oc-wear today at phone. The guy said, they ordered a bigger number of the i975Xa and they are quite shure, AOpen is able to deliver enough next week. They have a lot of orders from all over Europe.

So, we will see, how things going on the next weeks.

But the EPOX is also only a 945er. Up to now only ECS and AOpen offer a 975er...;)

More or less every 945er board has a onboard videochip and is designed for HTPC´s.

But depends, how the manufacturer design the BIOS, more or less OCing-options...:rolleyes:

Forget all 945 boards unless you wanna run them at stock or very mild oc. How are you supposed to overclock if it has no locks? Or am I wrong?

my friends over at OCAU have been very informative today.....there are some great notes on Merom CPUs which is something you guys probably want to know about as well :D

I've got some Ballistix 6400, I think they'll be quite decend, since crucial ballistix's on micron chipset always works quite nice compared to other brands with same chip..

I heard from ECS today, we have three boards set aside for XS and working on a group buy for early next month.

We are still a little ways out from getting boards in the US so it looks like April is Yonah month.

One of the three boards will go to Mike for his help in chip distrobution.

The bot only shows your highest score in the ranking, no need to edit posts. There's also an option to let the bot show the highest per user per platform (cpu + videocard combo), but as we will all be using the same platform that won't be necessary.

The intended use for Intel core duo on MoDT (mobile on desktop) mobo is to be the center of digital living room whre the system run everything with power and little heat.
And once in a while you can bench it and beat....:)

I am sorry as this is not really related to Competition. I was wondering which one to get if I want Yonah based system .... I see there are two packaging avlbl.... 478 and 479... I do get that 479 is for Aopen 975-YDG and all other boards with S479 (945/975 chipsets). Then whats the story of 478pin Yonah?? T2500 is for $416 @ ZZF, but will it work on regular 478 boards(865/875) with updated BIOS?? ?

ya..only 31w TDP, i think it's easy to push it to 3GHZ or more.....:woot:
