I don't get it, instead of using higher quality chipset heatsink/fan, better temperature sensors, better cooling on the rest of the hot spots, and fix other bugs on the Expert....DFI decided to invest heavily on the senseless box and other useless junk accessories that have absolutely nothing to do with improving overclocking of this board  special edition they said? you've got to be kidding me....wonder which genius from their marketting team came up with the stupid idea of using a coffin-looking box in attempt to attract more buyers!! :stick:
Atleast they put some decent quality caps. on the Venus board. :)

Hmmm, maybe we should just start recapping our Experts to make it look like Venus? ;)
What are you supossed to do with the box once you install the board, burry your kids pet hamster in there?
On DFI Street thay said that Venus BIOS is not compatible with eXpert at all.
There are some changes made which do not have to be visible with the first look. Some traces are changed and that stuff.
That came from official words.Quote:

If that is true:D , Venus is limited to 1000 boards... and the bios isnt compat to expert...Quote:

I can't really think DFI will allocate programmers to update BIOS SPECIFICALLY for 1000 limited quantity Venus;)Quote:

Agree with ya. I was just thinking that there could be a chance that the hardware changes made to the Venus could be made to the future revisions of the Expert. Expert not being able to well with TCCD, and UCCC just sounds ridiculous, and it should be fixed(?) like the Venus did. If this happens people who bought the Venus will surely feel   :banana:Quote:

Anyone have a link for Venus BIOS ?
why is it in some pictures
from Oskar it says Socket 940
and in some pictures it says socket 939?
DO NOT DO IT!!!!!! the Venus bios is not compatible with Expert, you'll killed your Expert if you flash it with Venus bios, go check out DFI-Street as this question has been asked couple times
Yup - ben805 is right.
Just like I told - they're not compatible at all.
Maybe they changed Voltage area or VIDs?? Something was changed and flashing to Venus will probably burn the MoBo.
DFI Venus bios file here........

Thank you.
Yes, and the same crappy chipset heatsink.Quote:

The a8n32 was the lost ark when it hit shelves peoples over 250$ in most cases A8N-32 @ Micor Center.
DFI isnt getting rich off of 1000 boards. This is all about there 25th Anniversary and wanting to give a little back.
Thanks DFI! Keep up the good work, it is much appreciated.
MUHaaaahaaaaaaaaaaaa yer @ $~450AU I might even use that one in my sig :rofl:Quote:

You are correct there is not one....the 8pin is next to the ATX 24pin like the Expert :)Quote:

Why do you feel the need to quote every single image ??, is it lazyness ??, If you honestly dont know how to just quote the one image I apologies, but PLEASE, everyone who does this, please spare a thought for those ppl less fortunate who are stuck with dialup (BTW I have 1500/256)Quote:

I cant see myself ever buying TCCD again or ever using less than 2GB of memory, also with the change to DDR2 it all seems a little too late unless you have a burning desire to try and beat your old TCCD/BH-5 benchies :)
The price is high, but if any of you know anything about manufacturing costs a small run of a product costs a lot more than making a large run. Spreading fixed costs over a smaller number of units, retooling, etc. all adds up...
Maybe those boards are actually left over from a lower model and not a new run, a change of capacitors, some clever marketing and voila.....

If that was true, you would be able to flash the venus on the expert.Quote:

Well well, as I stated earlier, looks like the bios's ARE interchangeable looking here http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...5&goto=newpost :rolleyes:Quote:

Are those of you with the Venus BIOS on the Expert noticing any gains? Is it even worth it? If so, what improvements are you seeing?
Curious about this as well :)Quote:

@ixtapalapaquetl..........s7 and OPB didn't do extensive comparing from what i've seen whether that's because they've got too much on their plate or something else  ....i think there was only one comment on TCCD running better which should be an incentive for you as you've had some troubles lately
one thing they did note is changed settings for DDS/DS
very informative. I might just flash my bios to the venus one!
the 329 beta bioses for all the boards have been brought up to the VEnus timings, so it isn't really necessary to venus flash it.
