I don't get it, instead of using higher quality chipset heatsink/fan, better temperature sensors, better cooling on the rest of the hot spots, and fix other bugs on the Expert....DFI decided to invest heavily on the senseless box and other useless junk accessories that have absolutely nothing to do with improving overclocking of this board :rolleyes: special edition they said? you've got to be kidding me....wonder which genius from their marketting team came up with the stupid idea of using a coffin-looking box in attempt to attract more buyers!! :stick:

On DFI Street thay said that Venus BIOS is not compatible with eXpert at all.
There are some changes made which do not have to be visible with the first look. Some traces are changed and that stuff.

If that is true:D , Venus is limited to 1000 boards... and the bios isnt compat to expert...
then the next question : will this board have many bios revision (developed/supported by others/3rd party like : Big Toe, Hellfire & Merlin ) besides the official (cause of the limited users)?:confused:

I can't really think DFI will allocate programmers to update BIOS SPECIFICALLY for 1000 limited quantity Venus;)

Especially when they cant even do that for the eXpert which is a 'kin DISGRACE :fact: :slapass:

After all this time still no fixes for temp reporting, whats the bet the venus has the same problems, ten bucks says it will :rolleyes:

Agree with ya. I was just thinking that there could be a chance that the hardware changes made to the Venus could be made to the future revisions of the Expert. Expert not being able to well with TCCD, and UCCC just sounds ridiculous, and it should be fixed(?) like the Venus did. If this happens people who bought the Venus will surely feel :banana: :banana: :banana:

DO NOT DO IT!!!!!! the Venus bios is not compatible with Expert, you'll killed your Expert if you flash it with Venus bios, go check out DFI-Street as this question has been asked couple times :eek: :eek:

Yup - ben805 is right.
Just like I told - they're not compatible at all.
Maybe they changed Voltage area or VIDs?? Something was changed and flashing to Venus will probably burn the MoBo.

7800gtx 512? The jealous called that pointless as well. The amount of moaning on price here is wierd. Iirc Gigabyte had a s478 board with scsi that literally sold for $280 along with Asus released its p4c-800e deluxe at Newegg was $230. The a8n32 was the lost ark when it hit shelves peoples over 250$ in most cases A8N-32 @ Micor Center.

DFI isnt getting rich off of 1000 boards. This is all about there 25th Anniversary and wanting to give a little back.

You are correct there is not one....the 8pin is next to the ATX 24pin like the Expert :)

I cant see myself ever buying TCCD again or ever using less than 2GB of memory, also with the change to DDR2 it all seems a little too late unless you have a burning desire to try and beat your old TCCD/BH-5 benchies :)

The price is high, but if any of you know anything about manufacturing costs a small run of a product costs a lot more than making a large run. Spreading fixed costs over a smaller number of units, retooling, etc. all adds up...

user over at OCAU is using this bios as well without issues

@ixtapalapaquetl..........s7 and OPB didn't do extensive comparing from what i've seen whether that's because they've got too much on their plate or something else :rolleyes: ....i think there was only one comment on TCCD running better which should be an incentive for you as you've had some troubles lately

one thing they did note is changed settings for DDS/DS

the 329 beta bioses for all the boards have been brought up to the VEnus timings, so it isn't really necessary to venus flash it.
