How is it a bad CPU? It runs fine at stock speeds doesn't it? That's all it was intended to do.Quote:

Here is mine. Still using stock AMD cooler. I am not sure if my memory is tweaked to the max or not. I know that I can't budge on the 2.5,3,3,8 timings and can't get 1T out of my ram but not sure if the other advanced timings could use some tweaking. I'm getting an XP-90 with panoflo and as5 coming to me, hopefully then I can squeeze a bit more out of it. It's 100% stable in all games/folding@home I throw at it. :D

Max BOOTEBLE freq: 2864Mhz vith 1.776V i don'g get higher with AIR Cooling!
My ram IS in F..K..G they don't go over 210 at CAS 3 at 3v???
Wow, 1.744v to get stable at 2.745Hz
Personally I would prefer a lower vcore on Venice than that...
just oc'ed my 0512 dpbw venice 3000+, to 2.8ghz (well 2799mhz to be exact) with 1.45v, - load temps after 10 hours of prime top out at 41degrees with an xp120 - but cheappy silicone goop until I lapthe heatsink properly at which time as5 will be used. Boosting voltage to1.475 doesnt seem to help to get 2.84 stable, is it worth trying more voltage to see if it can go higher, or would I see only small differences from here. Anyway my ram holds me back (currently on a divider running at 466 at 2.5-3-3-6 timings - but can manage up to about 490 on same timings - result of a mushkin blueline rma - went from utt to mosel chips) an 2.8 is a very nice result anyway, still any advice?

Well, SVC and NEWEGG fudged up, mobo won't be here til monday, xp-90 on tuesday. The mobo, xp-90, and the venice were all bought within 30 minutes of eachother. Only the chip from ewiz will be ontime, friday, the mobo and HS were both rescheduled for no reason.Quote:

Watch the volts Xyrus, thats very high for air, much higher than i run on water.

Hey guys i`ve got a quick question regarding my temps. I put 1,425x113% on my 3200+ @ 2780Mhz , mbm reads 1,55-1,57v it fluctuates :( . Temps on load are 40°-42° on cpu 60+° on pwmic and 42°-44° on chipset. So here comes the questions :) : Should i remove the heatspreader (i`m a little afraid of it cause i`ve never done it before) and second question what can i do do stop vcore flutuations ? I will put a fan near the pwmic to cool it better, 60+° seem a little high, but now tell me your answers ;)
Edit: forgot to mention mb is DFI Nf4 SLI-D
Here's my Venice 3000+ 0517DPMW at 2908MHz@1,5v bios, DFi NF4 Ultra-D and 2*512MB Twinmos Speed Premium PC3200 264MHz@3.4v 2-2-2-5-1T with stock cooler:
http://xtremesystems.org/forums/atta...id=36437&stc=1
Your temps are good. If you remove the ihs, I doubt you'll get more than 2-3 degrees better. That's about all I got. The vcore fluctuating a little is normal. As far as pwm temp, mine never gets above 50 -52, but I've seen others with temps in the sixties. Putting a fan over it should bring the temp down. If you do decide to take the ihs off, some acetone will help soften the sealant, and make it easier to cut.Quote:

I'm very confused about how i must to do the correct overclock.
What do you think about this config?
At this moment is the most stable config. in performance/stability but I think that is a poor overclock. :(
On the other Hand, clockgen say to me that my system is stable over 2690 but then prime95 fails.
Please post all your opinions and sugestions over this config and others that you think that could be better than this one and what i must to do or not to do...
Please help!!!
Thanks in advance and sorry for my poor and terrible english...Rob :slapass:
today i have received an 0531 BPMW
it does 2 ghz on stock voltage for now, but the psu is freaking out, i think thats the main problem, at 1.4V and 2.050 ghz it just freezed, raising up the voltage did nothing
at 2 ghz its stable but even at 2.025 its not
weird imho
just waiting for my new psu and i will give you some screens
how do you see its an E6 ???
Look IHS, it if ends in BW then it's an E6.
Through CPU-Z it should have stepping 2 (F F 2)
well im confused, my MB rates to above a 300HTT but i cant get it past 270 my mem is stable at 2.5-3-3-7 past 230 and the 3000+ is supposed to at least get 2.4, i cant get past 2.2, now the odd thing is that i cant max out everything at one time, BTW im relativly new to this OC thing, and at the settings below i have flashing on the screen, (it will flash black and than go back to normal. i can superpi it just fine so its stable, im confused. HELP!

1.744 isn't that extreme for watercooling. Now, 1.8 would be. Anyway, nice clocks Gravedigga, that's very impressive for normal watercooling!
:p:  I,m using 1.86V at my MSI Neo2 (venice) at boxed air cooling.Quote:

peace perc,
-22C? not really similar :p:
Great CPUs anyway
Mine was going about 2850Mhz @~1.4V on boxed heatsink, not 1:1 tho. After this, it needs about +.25V to get to 3Ghz. Raising voltage past this point is just calling for instability, even if the temp are fine; <40C

so your saying that with that venice you cant give it more then 1.425v or am i missreading? i would think that these venices would handle 1.55v-1.65v depending on you cooling no? plus 3gigs at 1.425v thats a nice chip! id like to see your chip on phasechange i bet it would fly. im aiming for 3200mhz out of this 0521DPMW veince i have. but knowing my luck ill be in the same 2800-3000mhz range i cant seem to bust out of? think i need colder unit that would help! ok man good luck...
peace perc,
No,
1.40V
+0.25V
______
1.65V
No matter what voltage higher after this, it's windows instant freeze, or BSOD :stick:
dammit man thats not cool at all. that chip would need a good phase unit to stay under that voltage... this one i got aint to bad at all im at 3000mhz using 1.5v in the bios but windows it only reads 1.456v.
peace perc,
Very nice chip perc. I know once you give it some real volts it will be way past 3 Ghz.
I always use CPUZ for the V readings so that looks like 3 Ghz with 1.45 volts.
Anyone had any experience with an E6 3500 Venice?
I want to know if there's something I'm overlooking on the configuration side or if some hardware component is holding me back. I'm pretty sure my ram is holding me back but I want to make sure before I make my next purchase.

Extremely nice CPU... now let's see 10 hours of SP2004. Looks like it will run 3 Ghz pretty easily with a little more volts. I am prime stable at 3 Ghz but it requires 1.73 volts, load temp @ 39-40C. With that many volts that CPU would probably be around 3050!
Ur CPU is without IHS?
I've pluged in this CPU 2h ago, had no time to run longer Prime95, just testing what i can expect. :toast:
Yep IHS removed
I forgot your IHS is still on - that is a very sweet CPU! Dont forget to do burn in.
Yeah, maybe i should try an Burn-In, but my PC is 20" away from my bed, so i can't sleep.. we will see ;)
Grave :
you got yourself another one? What happened with the first one? Week 20, if I remember correctly.
Yes, the other one is already by his new owner. ;)

yeah im lovin my 3200 venice. these chips are deff nice im at 3100mhz now using 1.55v in the bios and cpu-z is showing 1.504v wich isnt bad. one thing im starting to notice is that anything over 1.6v the cpu will eror out in super pi where as with less volts it doesnt  im thinking that if you cant get your oc using less then 1.6v then your screwed! atleast with the cpu i have anyways....

peace perc,
I don't have Windows running to get a CPUz shot, but this survived a full day of FreeBSD's `make world`, which is a very hard test (recompiling the whole system with itself, and any memory error leads to compilation failure).
My E6 3200+ does 2500 at 1.525 volts (ram under 200 MHz) with a Zalman CF-7700-CU at full RPMs.
2600 MHz did not run even at 1.50, so I'm testing 2550 now.
The DFI LP Nf4's temperature readings don't work in FreeBSD so I have no idea.

Well here is another addition to my collection of chips. LOL (sorry not bragging!) This one is one of 2 0517BPDW's that I just picked up. I dont think they are as good as the 0521DPMW's that I have. This week 17 doesnt scale the same way. It needs alot more voltage to hit the same speeds as the week 21 chips. But this is still a pretty good clocker. Here are some tests right out of the box. Maybe the voltage will improve with some burnin or just day to day use.
