Aw shoot. Where's my Vicodin? All of a sudden, my back's hurting again. :p:
Inside? Can you show pics? I'm planning on getting a PC-75B, just want to see how it might me done. I plan on mounting mine on the bottom of the case.Quote:

i think for a single stage -69c is max idle and -50 or -48 loaded. that with r410 probly.
thats stretching it for these small systems. I would say -60 idle -47 load for stuff under 1hp.

he got better temps with r404a. so r404a, r507 and r402 would be the way to go.
but realistically we can only run about 10Hg to 15Hg at most so thats what temps idle should be. for me r290 is the limit but 10Hg is possible at heay load once tuned.
just have a look at runmcs cascade and mine both running vacuum at load both stages. these 1hp rotaries are :rehab:
Amazing! Once I get some money, I think I might be headed in this direction.
I know this isn't a FS thread, but any idea what type of longevity to expect on these guys? Offer any type of warranty?
Hey! my first post, and i have already sent ya a PM chilly, they look cool
I just would like to ask one thing, how you dont get liquid return using 1m return line and no U bends?Thank you.
Right size captube and no overcharge
Ya, watch your frost line under load.
Let me be the first too congratulate you on a very nice job!
Nice and clean the way I like it!
Well done!:toast:
P.S.: I'll be fitting my stuff on the top.
I know how you feel. I did the same thing with my watercooling setup and I’ll be doing the same thing with my new phase setup soon (I hope).Quote:

P.S.: Maybe you should PM me with those because this thread is starting to get off track. Or you could start a new one.:)
I am interested, Is the microfrostbyte the same as the the others ? I am interested in one of these, just not sure which one. I will be cooling a A64 24/7. Not sure which one would be best for me. I haven't pm'd chilly1 yet, but will. Thanks!!
Looks great, just make sure you get eneough airflow through the condenser, those two grills on the front might be too restrictive.
DGeNeRaT3 if it's not too much trouble. Could you make another thread, I would love to see more photos of your setup and ask you a bunch a questions since I'm looking to build and use a system much like yours. :D
i hear ya geting the suction line to fit takes hours and working on hold downs etcQuote:

Whats the status on the units chilly?
behind just got the right covering for teh hose they sent the wrong stuff
Oh no, glad to see you got it sorted out.
Sort of OT, but I just wanted to say that Chilly just helped me with a cascade project (separate thread to come soon), and he was great, especially for a guy with so many demands on his time.
He shipped the unit packed like it was some priceless Egyptian artifact, bound to its own pallet with steel bands (some carrier called calover.com - the guy delivered it on a hand truck wrapped in plastic on a second plastic pallet). I felt like the curator of some high-end museum (just put it there, next to the Rodin  ).
I highly recommend Chilly for your extreme HVAC needs. :D
Here's a tease:

Looks sweet! Very nice indeed.
any kind of temperture numbers or heat load capacity from testing yet?
Wow, thats a huge flexhose, how long is it?
Is flexi -cool the brand name of your units Chilly1. You are doing a great job. Congrats
Not mine just an adaptation and a repair of a broken unit.Quote:

I will stop thread-hijacking and start a separate thread for this when I get the pics all formatted. But Chilly did make this happen, so I wanted to give him a plug. :toast:
Lets get back on track. Got all the material and the birthday is over so back at it.
Fully assembled kit.

That's a stealth compressor... you cannot see it without the right optical equipment ;)Quote:

DGeNeRaT3
Chilly1, thats a heck of a starter kit. Is this something people can purchase who are interested in building thier own or is this going to just be something that you are going to be building for your own single phase units for sale? The answer is probably both but i had to ask. this sure would save someone alot of time and look, even comes with a fan.
DGeNeRaT3
Judging from the earlier pics in the thread I'd say he was doing complete systems, but I could be wrong  I hope he is, I'm not quite up to that level yet in extreme cooling, I'd have to do a bit more research before embarking on a project like that on my own, first.Quote:

I'd just like to say that chilly1's block and insulation idea is amazing, I've never had to deal with insulating anything before, and this went on like a breeze, no condensaton whatsoever :D
I'll post some more stuff about microfrostbyte later...
Actually both yur right. Now ewe need some good controllers...:DQuote:

I was thinking for an SLI setup on a DFI mobo, you make the evaps maybe half the size the ones the use at the moment because the space between the two GFX cards is quite small, and instead of putting the cap tube and suction line out of the top of it you could put it out the side.
http://img67.exs.cx/img67/8880/gfxcardevaporator2om.jpg
There's a drawing I did (Not very good I know), but the width between the two GFX cards is about 2 inches.
Actually if you take aone of my evaps and cut the top off then cut 3/8 inch of the spiral off then drill and weld it up it will fit perfect and you would only lose a little capacity.Quote:

But the idea is nice. Hope it works out
Awsome work as usual by chilly1 :D
UPDATE ggetting cought up the one with no stickers is going Overseas to a contest winner, and the other one is going out wed. three more to do... and a couple cascades...
these are the finished units makes 5 so far..
http://www.blairwing.com/images/BAckus-sky.jpg
i just can't belive my eyes. These things truely are a think of beauty....eventually i want a -100c autocascade the same size as one of these units with the extremesystems logo that would rock! The main reason for an autocascade is becuase you only need one compressor so you could still make it close to the same size as a prommy couldn't you? if not, a man can dream :)
man those things just look cool as hell. When I get mine I think I am gonna let it sit out on the table just like that for a while so when people walk in they go "Whoa what is that?" lol then after enough people ask I am gonna hook it up and show em lol. :)
I can hardley wait to order mine ;)
Wow those things are beauties Chilly :) Nice work and detail :)
Chilly, can you make the cases a bit longer to fit underneath full cases?
I.e. instead of 19.3" long can they be 23.2"
Yes I will be making some cases for Lian li and longer computers this weekend.
Asetek is going out of business very soon lol :D

Chilly, those evaps and pipes are frigging slick, man I cannot wait for june :D. Are those both on one unit? Hell if that's true, I want to do some GPU phase change...
Also, the mesh on the insulation, can you get that in more colors? Red or UV red would be totally amazing...
Where do you get that mesh stuff?
Haha finally some Chilly1 dual evaps! Is -40c load on both a safe guess?
Looking a the pic of the dual evap heads I notice one is a 90 degree angle from the hose. So that's the one that goes in between the two video cards in the SLI set-up, while the other goes on the bottom card. In a single video card set-up would the contact patch on the cooler head cover the IHS on the CPU? Hard to get a sense of scale from the pic.
Oh yes ... its all very pretty. :)
Well, I could definitely stand it if one were CPU and the other GPU :D. If it is, I think I'm going to soil myself.Quote:

Cascades are not tuned for 24/7 use. But if your willing to dish out the cash for a cascade I doubt electric bill will be problem.... :D
Here is an example given on another thread:
800w is not accurate, it's just an estimate. This is so you know what formula to use. Replace the 6cents with whatever you are charged per kwhrs in your area.Quote:
800 W * 720 Hrs*1 kW/1000 W = 576 kWHrs
So at 6 cents per kWhr, this comes to;
6*576 = 3456 cents or $34.56
On the other hand, I have read before that cascades are not meant to be run 24/7 because they start to clog (somebody correct me if I'm wrong here).
I think that they can be given 15 to 20 hour runs then turned off for a while.
Yes they will eventually log with oil unless you have a 100% efficient oil separator.
Chilly1 thats one hellofa paintjob!!
That is a dual head single compressor rig at 250 watts power usage it will cost 6 X you cost per KX per day. So 0.18 per Kwh is 1.08 per day to run and 32.40 per month. for 24 /7 but that is full load..
chilly...do you sell really good oil seperators? like ones to use 24/7?
What horse power is the compressor in that, Chilly?Quote:

I'm paying a higher than usual 19 Cents per Kilowatt Hour since I have times of ultra high current draw during peak usage times. Most houses also dont have a special 480 volt feed either :D .
If your worried about you electric bill with these systems, Converting some of your highly used lightbulbs into flouresent bulbs will more than make up for the usage. You got to remember that a regular incandescent light bulb is about 1% efficient. That means that a 100 watt bulb converts one watt into light and 99 watts into heat. You'll save on the actual light bulb power consumption and save on AC cooling costs this summer.
I reduced my $350+ dollar electric bill to just over $300 just by converting most of my lights to flourescent and turning all my toys off when not in use.
Back to the topic though, These single stage systems wont break your bank in electric use. Most people spend more money a week on beer than what a single stage phase change system will suck down in a month. Its also easy to recoup the losses elsewhere in your house.

Actually do you know that a new, built on mesure cascade could run for at least 1200$ to 1500$ single head -90 to -100C? and for dual head add at least 300$....Quote:

Plus the bill that will easily go up by 40$ to 50$ if not not much more. And a cascade is very cold so if it runs and the heat source is not high enough on your motherboard you may have condensation even if it is insulated...
