According to RunMC here, no world records were broken :(
Another piece of info by RunMC, in the thread I linked to in my previous post

uhhh maybe they would say that its hard to beat SLI when you only have 1 video card....
overall im really impressed with ati and this event, its awesome that the enthusiasts are getting this much attention.
This is Matt9669. He is the guy with the grey shirt...
Thanks Matt for all your hard work. It was a pleasure meeting your.
We all owe you a big thanks for all your hard work. You have really done a great job with Xtreme News..
If you remove SLI from the equation, did they come up with the highest score for 1 card?
Any results? :D
Holy moly. I got too many pics from all the people who took them. The NDA is removed. w00t!! :)
Now to know the results. :D

How do you post pic on this fourm? All of mine are way more then 200K.
now that is cool... they(ATI) got their own volt mod man....Quote:

anyone kill any hardware yet ? :D
OPP broke 9K with his DFI a while back.Quote:

The pic I was waiting for :D
Thanks for all the kudos guys! ;)
I don't know for sure what the scores were. There were no records broken, but only if you don't count the five or so busted X850's, two or three dead RS480 "Bullhead" boards and the X850 that was lacquer coated to drive out condensation
I took about forty minutes or so of video footage. This coming week I should have time to put it together into one or more DiVX clips. For now, here's a preview: http://www.mattoverclocked.com/preview.avi
(Music courtesy of DJ Jade, http://www.jadedbeats.net and will be used in the final versions)
Hopefully we'll have some of the pics up soon that were under NDA, including the 512MB X850XT PE!
more, more!!! hehe great stuff.
notice the yellow "danger" lines.. and chilly1 pouring the ln² in there.. btw bare hands, wtf? hehehe... oh and i love that laugh! like someone said, kids in the candystore, great!
oh and i wouldn't mind just o-tone instead of the music, which is really is cool, but.. :D
matt, that's a damn nice job you did on the reporting and posting of all those pics.
Can't wait for the finsihed video, if you need some more webspace PM me, I have 40gb/month free traffic
Yep the laugh is really cool :D
Bare hands all the way!Quote:

It was a great weekend with loads of great overclockers and some xtreme action: triplestages, autocascade, huge ln2 tanks, dryice...
It was a pleasure to be a part of it. Also a great pleasure to meet such great guys. Thumbs up to ATI & co. for organizing such event
As far as hardware goes... I didn't kill anything! :D
As far as records goes... I didn't hit anything! :D
As far as drinking goes.. I didn't drink.. much! :D
I believe OPP got the highest score and reached over 8.7k with his x850. Fugger got past 8k too but not sure how far? Fugger tested a lot of different platforms during the event and with chilly1's help used some 'never-seen-before' cooling action (ln2 direct feed from the tank, for both CPU and GPU!). Great show!
My plan was to make sure I get everything doing the speeds needed for a record (meaning CPU, ram, video). Never got the whole 'pack' doing it all together. CPU (fx55) would run over 3.6GHz (spi1m @3633MHz, 1.75V) with fairly low voltage, RAM (OCZ VX) would do near 270 2-2-2-5 at only 3.4ish and finally I got the card up to 837/685 too. But like I said doing it all together just didn't happen this time. Ran out of time.
I hit 8376Marks while testing the card speed at 837/685 and that is with CPU at default speed (2600MHz) and slow mem timings and old driver ;) At that point it was nearly sunday and we decided to call it a day and start packing stuff.
I have to add that the PC ice cascades I was able to use were easily the best coolers I've ever used. Capacity indeed ;)
Sounds very nice indeed Macci, now when the NDA is expired, lets see some pics.
I just wanna say Congrats to Macci, OPP, and Fugger!!!! Man i wish i could have been there, i love the pictures u guys are animals!!!
Bare hands and liquid nitrogen, Can't that like freeze your hand off? I'd like to know more about this weird activity.
Great pics Matt and hopefully there'll be more events held like this or even this becoming an anual event.
Subscribed, Great pics and amazing rigs there guys. Inspiring work really!!

Bare hands is not so bad: only if u stuck ur hands for lets say 5 seconds in the ln2 container, u will notice much. U saw the video? Well, if u get some LN2 on u'r hands it will vaporize very quickly. Huge amounts would be bad because they last longer.
some more pics can be found here
If you would dip you hand into the LN2 you would actually have a grave paraliz to your hand if not all your arm. At -XXXC you don't send any "signals" anymore, so it kinds of "close" that "port".... Sorry I don't know the english words;). (And I know what I'm talking about on that subject;)).
Nope. Didn't work for me.Quote:
U saw the video?
Hmmm, Isn't LN2 used to burn wrath's away? I remember it like something... burning. :s
I can't see it eitherQuote:

There's something crazy going on in that last ATI engineer pic. What are those VR's doing hanging off the yellow power connector, and where are they going? I haven't seen that mod, but I may not be as savvy as the rest of you.
Not that hard...he's getting ground on that connector, if u take a sec analysing the pic u can see that the vr's that he's using only connect there from one leg of the vr ;)Quote:

Man this sounds like the ministry of misinformation.
Two gfx cards were fried, one really good by Fugger but was eventually patched. So only one card. And maybe one bullhead was fried by Fugger when he LN2'd it.
Matt: read post #257.Quote:

I'm pretty sure on this, i don't know why they are hanging from that though.
I noticed at first that it was vivo connector but i was trying to figure it out the connection made it there...
Fugger u revealed a killer instinct for oc :D , i killed a mobo due to condensation too so ... :D
Well the good of all this is that looks like u all aprecciate the meeting and for the one's that couldn't be there i guess we all like the pics (some crazier than others)...
Will this event be repeated in the future Grayskull, do u know ?
Thks!
So can you tell us who he is and what he does at ATI? I'm sure that there are quite a few engineers at ATI who know some juicy secrets about mods but can't be public about that sort of stuff.Quote:

If i remember correctly your not allowed to ware gloves handling liquids that cold . Cant really remember the exact reason though , the quick vaporizing when in open air had something to do with it . It was something like , normally when you feel you touched the liquid you'll pull back very quickly and it will vaporize before the skin can drop to a temperature which will harm it . If your wearing gloves , the gloves will go cold and you'll be exposed to extreme low temperatures for longer . Something like thatQuote:

Fugger if you recall I asked if you guys had any electrical engineering majors and I helped get the 2nd tank of LN2 off the truck. Also, I'm very sorry I couldn't find a spare piece of plywood anywhere in the building for your setup... I was very impressed with what you guys could do!
On behalf of TXGF and DFW Frag I wanted to thank you all for coming to this event. It was a pleasure having you all there!
I was one of the judges for the pimp my PC. Terry sent me out to find the slowest computer in the event. When all the judges came back, I think there were 5 PCs and the saddest one was one that had worst computer here writen on the side of the case that the fans in it squeld when it started up.
just downloaded the video preview.. nice matt
can´t wait so see the finished movie, pls hurry up ;)
Next time ATI feels like hosting such an event do it in either belgium or the netherlands  :p:
I'll be sure to come and bust some hardware to :) wouldn't mind a x850XT to play with for a few days. Ln2 BABY :p: lol I'd need guidance but It'd be fun to try it for a first time :)
:stick:
Thanks for your comments Dazz, these guys are real pros! Not sure if I met you but I was the guy with the laptop and the "XtremeSystems" badge covering the event for XS. I'm a computer engineering major which is essentially half EE and half CS. :up:Quote:

Forgive me if I reported incorrectly, ATI was very keen on keeping me out of the loop so I simply reported on what I saw.
Haha funniest thing I´ve been reading on Xs for a long time.. And you´re actually right :DQuote:

How about us poor EU folks? :(
I saw you, but I never come over to introduce myself. I was the guy running around like my head was chopped off most of the time. I had about 15 staff and VIP badges around my neck at one point. For the most part I was running around making sure that all the vendors were doing ok. I manned the registration booth and made sure that we always had fresh volounteers up there. I was also the one throwing some of the prizes out during the ATI speech...Quote:

Heck, put one in California. In LA!! One of the greatest places on Earth. :D
As of Saturday night at midnight we were cleaning up. Hence all the cards were rounded up. What you saw were all the cards and motherboards that were used for the event all piled up.
We are very keen at protecting proprietary information, especially when we are dealing with people who are not familiar and poking around all over the place. ;)

Italy has its advantages too, it's a great country and there are many talanted overclockers there.
Amsterdam would be great too, since we'd be able to *cough* relax *cough* very well during/after the event
Denmark is a good idea as well, because of all the extreme overclockers up there.
So yeah, it doesn't really matter where exactly it is :D

Wow, crazy pics! I always imagined that Chilly1 would be an old man with a moustache and FUGGER, a hyperactive-looking maniac with an ATi t-shirt. Looks like I guessed correctly. Good work guys!
