Thanks guys for all the comments. I'm really happy after only one night with the card...
and 684/1386 @ 1.58v makes me wonder what will happen if I go up to 1.7v...
Those heatsinks on the ram must help!!
This is my second experience with Asus video cards and they've both been great.
I had an X800Pro Vivo from Asus that also kicked ass :).
It's interesting that Asus released three versions of their 6600GT, and I'm sure you're wondering...
this is the standard EN6600GT/TD128 :)
I'm picking up a second one that hopefull clocks just as well in SLI.
Looking forward to all of your results! ;)

That's very, very nice for a standard Asus 6600GT. You probably should try the TOP Limited Edition. Mine are nice even at stock volt although nothing close to yours. But, I am sure, with your skills and mods, you can squeeze a lot more.
I wanted the TOP Limited editions but I couldn't find them anywhere and they were a charging a $50 premium for the TOPs. So I took a gamble that a regular card would work out well and I guess I was lucky :)Quote:

I'm guessing that the TOP cards have higher stock voltage than the regular cards since they are clocked at 550/1100 right out of the box... I do use the AutoDetect when I first put the card in to get a real rough idea of what to expect but then I switch immediately after to Riva.... :)Quote:

The TOP looks exactly like one on your pics. How to check the voltage? Let me know and I can do measure using digital multimeter here. Thanks.
My Gainward scored 571/1140 with coolbits. I think the thermal pads on the HoHums(tm) RAMDACS arent helping much. Hopefully the weeked will put an end to this :D

The TOP has between 1.41v and 1.43v stock on the core in 3D mode:)

Hey, which scenario is the most mem clock craving in 01?
Thanks
By that you're implying that the voltages are higher? I thought the 6600GT ran at 1,24 VGPU :confused:Quote:

Ok. Now before you all start yelling at me, I have the red in 750VAC and the black in COM. My grounded object i use is my computer case, as I cant seem to fin anything better. No matter how hard I try, I cant get any voltage reading in windows
Any help will be strongly appreciated!
Dave
I totally agree Andy, after getting the Asus my evga looked so ordinary and cheap. The Asus feels well built and the soldering and construction of the card is far superior... they actually solder pins on for measuring voltage not just some silver blob... it's no wonder Asus brand cards always seem to carry a premium over others...Quote:

Don't use 750VAC. Try 20VDC.
Tried, same negative result :(Quote:

Yeah, Shamino's VGPU measure point. It works with gocchin so I'm not quite sure where I went wrong :(
Maybe it's not grounded ? Stick your probe into a spare Molex black wire hole if you know what I meanQuote:

Great score too, andy! If you have time, I wonder how the 53.03 compare :D
nice zak.. i assume you've got that same heatsink that was on the FX5800 when you went for that record? the copper thing with two rows of rounded rectangular fins?
ya know what... i better just ask for a pic of the cooling. :D
you've still got a little work to do, considering highwayman got an astounding 216fps in nature with his FX5900u. but ofcourse, you're over the hump, you've broken the record for any geforceFX gfx card. ;) congrats.
Yes, the globalwin cpu coolers are my favourite ok but at present this card still has the stock hsf on it ! Nice job as well it is, I'll take a picture tonight. I suppose that hen you charge a lot for something originally you can afford a good cooler. With air at 1C blowing over it from my 170mm Papst fan it doesn't get that warm. Maybe it will when volt modded. Actually the volt mod looks quite difficult.Quote:

If I get bored I will do the 53.03's GF .. at 570/1100 what do you think the nature score will be ? My guess is 155 ....

Andy
THe black molex did it, thanks :toast:Quote:

Today I begin my adventure. The hunt for 4,5K in 05 and 10500 in 03 :) I hope I can fix up the water circuit quickly :)
That sounds about right for 3d, it goes from 1.10-1.15 in BIOS up to 1.40+ in 3d. You can use rivatuner to force it to use 1.45 always in windows if you wished, I prefer to use it that way.Quote:

Ok, how much do I have to pencil? I managed to get around 1,52, them I changed from 2B to B, and the the setup no longer thought too much of the idea of booting. After erasing the graphite everything works fine, but do i really need a LOT of graphite on the resistor?
I LOVE all this great competition with the 6600gt's.... but isn't it true that for the price of the 1.6nS cards, GLH TDh Extreme, ASUS Top.... $250, you can simply buy the low-DOG slow 6800NU and it'll be faster anyway??? In fact I've seen 6800/256mB Dell pulls for $220 on eBay....
You do it stroke by strock. More stroke = less resistance.
Tjah, personal preference I think :)
I got my Gainward for €130 less than the cheapest 6800U i could getmy hands on, as Ebay is seldom an option in DK :(

I just joined the competition.
Got me a couple rosewill 6600GT.
My card is back to life!! A isoprophyl alcohol bath and a few days in rest are ok, no more pink/green apart from HL2 VST :)
gocchin, habe you tried to G-Clamp yet? I'm looking to see if I can get this bargain for a Mach II, so I might try phase change on a 6600GT, though that would in essence be breaking the unwritten rules of this competition. Either way, I wont get up to 750 as Mr. Icee can :)
misteroadster, amazing, a 1410mhz RAM clock is nothing short of amazing. :toast: Very nice results, I'm hoping to break 11K, though I doubt the HoHum syndrome will aloow for this, even at 1,55VGPU I had 610 on the core. Do you have different RAM sinks?
;) juliette, i'm happy for you.
It's always sad to lose a Video card.
My 6600GT Gigabyte uses Samsung 1.6ns chips.

Very nice results, now try LOD at 3 in Rivatuner :)
I'm out for a while, this semi-screwed HoHum isnt up to it :(

If I get a sufficent job in the summer I might try to phase-change the HoHum with either a LS or M2 GT. Then I might reach 700mhz on the core, though that would in essence break the unwritten rules. Mr.Icee can through on a cascade any time :)
Either way, good luck, I will remain as an awed, amused and most likely jealous observer :D
Getting another one or happy to let that second place in 2001 go back to me ? :DQuote:

Finally hit 10k
I think my quest for 12k is on hold as my x850xt pe has arrived and I'll be directing my attention there for a while... I've got my DFI bridge (thanks to Mike!) so I still have to mod my Ultra-d to SLI... in the meantime you are all welcome to catch up to me ;)

i got you :)
699/1424
:slobber: 1,6K over my score :)
Very nice roadster. Did the pink and green tree elves say hello under the run?
Ohh, there's a lot of colors while benching , green trees are beautifull :D
Ah 8 points!! Congrats! When are you going SLI? ;)Quote:

do you know where i can find the tool to edit my bios to give me 1.5v?
No BIOS vmod so it is a hardware mod. PCie is a pencil mod thanks to Shamino, AGP mod is a VR which can be found on the graphix modz page.Quote:

I'll return to the 6600GT at a later date when things have matured and faster memory is about ( and they are cheaper) . Nobody ever became top dog with nvidia in less than a month.
