so what's the deal with OCZ Booster nad MSI Neo2 Platinum NF3 mainboard?
maximum 3.4v - that what is says on the CZ website. but i see people giving even 3.8v... do they boot @ 3.4v and then adjust to > 3.4v once they are in Windows???
Mine is doing 3.6v. As for Adjusting the Booster Voltage, I'll go into Bios, use a multimeter and read the Vdimm mosfet's voltage. then I'll adjust it to 3.6v. Reboot and that's it. Everytime when i on the system it will boot at 3.6v.Quote:

Also BIOS F5 is floating around and a link can be forund here:http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...543#post614543
It's not yet officially released and fixed many of the issues like the cold boot problem when overclocking. :) Try it.

any modded BIOSs out there for the AV8? i really want my BH-5 in this thing...
Any news on the booster and any of the NF4 boards, or have none of them been tested yet? (Don't know whether you guys get any versions of the boards to test out before they are released)
How abt 2xSS dimms??? I have 2x256mb HyperX BH5 waiting for the volts.Quote:

It's too hard to find your mobo and the confirmation.
i just try OCZ DDR booster on ASUS K8NE but the LED doesn't turn on,there are no problem go to windows, the problem just the LED.now i don't know if this thing work on my mobo or not, somebody can help me?
Also would like to find this out :DQuote:

i've a big problem too, if i want to use my ocz booster and 2*256 A-Date nh5 it doesen't work but if i put one stick in , the ocz booster works fine , need help!
that means , i can increase the voltage on the two stick but nothing happend , no difference between 2.6v and ~3.9v , but with one stick and ~3.7v i can boot and run 32m @300fsb without problems, and it makes no difference which stick i use.
bios is 1.36b
It will fit with 2xSS if you pull away those tinycrappy heatsinks from Booster ;)Quote:

okay now i change the DDR boster conection from conect with 1st PSU (without -5V) to 2nd PSU (with -5V) {i am use dual PSU }....but the LED only light on once when i turn on PC after that LED light off ,anyone have solution? :confused:Quote:

put the Booster in DIMM1 , then 2 other dimms will fit in nicely:)
Is that because it sticks out more on one side?
All the slots are really close together, same spaces? Are you sure?
Thanks.
Hi dose the DDR booster work on my EPoX EP-8KDA3+??voltage??
And if so dose i need 2 put my 2x512 in slot 2/3 ???
Any Nforce4 updates?
Does the booster work with the DFI LP UT S754 board ? thinking about 1x OCZ VX + booster..
when will the s939 LP board come ?
Mongoose lost a 9NDA3 board with the booster :explode: early on after the boards were released. I would say that the same holds true for the 8KDA3 as well. They both use the same chip to control mem voltage. The same vmod works for both boards ;)Quote:

gocchin: did you install the booster before you put on your xp-90?
i know you told me to put RAM in after i put in xp-90 but what about booster?
EDIT: Just re-read your PM, you said put ram in then booster, both after xp-90 then attach fan, sorry for the confusion!
:toast:
The booster works great but if you put the memory in slot 1 and the booster in slot 3 only one stick can be used. You have to mod the booster or as I have heard you can put the booster in slot one, but overclocking is not as good. I have not tried the booster in slot 1.Quote:

It's mostly pics, but pretty well explains how to make the Booster work on DFI and Chaintech socket 754 boards. It might also help some NF2 guys.
Nice mod Andy, should help a lot of people :D
Added : GA-K8NF-9 support OCZ DDR Booster. So far i can reach 3.4volt vdimm
Asus A8V just 3,1 ... bad ovp ... heh
Epox KDA3J rev 2.2 doesn't work with the booster, tried but the PSU doesn't even power on
What power supply? Some won't work. I am not sure if the Epox has been tried.Quote:

I used the booster on an AN7 with the same psu and it worked (kinda, vdimm variated alot)
Working good on Neo2 Plat. 4th slot.
Enermax PSUs have been an issue and are not booster friendly. Try another PSU if you can. Just beware that we don't know if that board is compatible.Quote:

I´ve read about Abit AV8 s939, and I suppose that they use the same circuits and IC´s to regule voltages, but I want to hear something about the booster and KV8 Pro, someone had tried it??
I need more Vdimm to buy OCZ VX, but no vdimm mod exists for KV8 Pro... :( :(
I know the OCZ Booster is supposed to run on the K8NS Ultra939, but I haven't been able to do so, until now(I think).
Just need to confirm something:
There is absoluty no chance in hell, my RAM is able to run 215mhz CL2.2.2.8 T1 with only 2.6v, right? They shouldn't be able to, not even at 2.8v(BIOS max).
I think, I finally got the thing to work, so my FX-55 is going to get some RAM power at last. I want 30k with 6800GT within 24hours :)
is it normal for the booster to variate so much during heavy usage? during unreal2k4 it will run from 3.26v to 3.18v. but idle its stays (most of the time) at 3.36v ufff
u basically have to set it so the vdimm doesnt drop under a certain voltage...i think in my case 3.2v
that is normal, unfortauntely, for the booster. for me, i variate up to 1.0-1.1. others more (like yourself).
The voltage variation you are seeing is due to your PSU reacting to the load. Some PSUs will do this more than others. With a strong PSU you see very little variation.Quote:

Yes but without modding it you can only use 1 stick of ramQuote:

anybody knows bout the compatibility of OCZ Booster with an ABIT IC7? coz i read at the COZ website, saying that IC7 may need VTT mod for better result...n it says using OCZ Booster i can get up to 3.6V...up to 3.6V with or without VTT mod?
how about if i do not want to do any VTT mod? any ideas what cud i expect for my Vdimm using OCZ Booster only?
without a VTT mod your rams will not benifit much from more VMEM. you basically HAVE to do a VTT mod.
well..without a VTT mod, how much Vdimm would i be able to get with OCZ Booster?
why i cant set the booster above 3v? at 3v my bh5 ram will only run @230fsb but if i set it higher no go @230..... , so the highest volt i can set is 3v specs
msi k8n neo2
3200+
you can get as much as you want but your rams will not go higher because of lack of VTT. VTT has to be 1/2 of vmem.Quote:

around 225 2-2-2.... i'm saying that if your mem does 225 at 2.8, at 3.3 it will be 230 or so if your VTT is not correct. if you have a correct vtt then your mem could reach 250+ with 3.3v.
ahh..i think i got u.... :p: can boost the voltage, but without proper VTT, it wont get proper results...yeah..the RAMs i am getting shud be able to do 255 wit Booster....hav a rpint scren fromt he last owner...oh, n i am on Intel btw...Quote:

well, then rev1 is as good as rev2, no big differences...
ah, on AS8 max volts that i can power on?
Does the booster works on Gigabytes 8IK1100 (rev1.0) ?
okQuote:

My Booster just arrived and it works great on my DFI nf3! I've it installed in slot 1 with RAM in both 2 and 3. There is just one thing I wonder, I set it to 3.1V, but my DFI says it's giving 3.51V! Wich reading should i trust more?
i think no one, you must find reading point and check with a tester...
I've a multimeter lying here, I'll look for the reading points.
[edit]
I have a bigger problem now. The ram cannot run at 200mhz anymore :S When I used the load optimised settings option my ram runs at 100mhz with 2.5-3-2-5 timings! Anyone got a solution?
[/edit]
My rev2 works without modding it. I can just put in into dimm #1Quote:

Now to find a solution...
so i guess the booster doesnt work on the DFI Ultra Infinity II? :(
Now this is a real shot in the dark, Does anyone know If the the DDR Booster will work with the MSI K8T Master2-FAR? It has voltage adjustment up to 2.65v only.
Considering that board has a 24 pin connector for the PSU main lead and the booster is only 20 pin compatible, I would say not.Quote:

sorry for asking stupid question.
I'm using abit nf7 v2.0.I did the vdimm mod and manage to get 3.26vdimm. It's seem not enough to feed my bh5 especially stressing the ram, the vdimm drop to 3.22v!! So, i'm going to buy a ddr booster. I just wonder that if i install the ddr booster on my mobo, does the high vdimm (3.26v) will kill it?since i did the mod that cannot adjust the vdimm.
I think you will be ok. Hopefully there will be no problems with the mod and the booster. You will get what the booster can put out, usually about 3.8v max. I think I would remove the mod if it were my board.
thanks for your replied!! the main problem is i gotta unplug all the hardware if remove the mod and it's very trouble for me. :P
i wonder that if the ddr booster provided 3.8v max to the ram, does itself(ddr booster) also running 3.8vdimm?
one more question,
"Power supplies used in conjunction with the DDR Booster must support a -5V line in order for the LED readout to function."
i'm using Acbel 450W PSU and i got 3.5v for -5v!! Does it make the LED cannot function well and bring any effect to the ddr booster??

Anyone wondering if the booster works with a soltek k8tpro may be happy to hear that over on the Anandtech boards there is a thread concerning the mobo and a rep of Soltek over there has gotten in contact with OCZ about the issue. OCZ should be sending or testing the booster soon.
...at least I'm excited to know.
