$1.00 a litre here in middle TN...
No I found another dealer also, where I can get 0,44$/0,31€ per litre :)
From my first dealer, I can get less than 0,4$/L ;)
same price as water :D
ln2 is very cheap in the Eastern Europe ;)
proxis, actually, its not the case. All the LN2 comes from Finland (AGA/Linde Gas) and the original "end-user" price is 1,6+€/2,2+$ per litre. The cheaper "source" is in animal breeding centre, because the "Department of Agriculture" is dotating it.
But the most important thing is, these resellers are making money to themselves "illegally". The few guys here in Estonia are buying so little LN2 that it covers the "normal" loss of LN2. So the sellers can put the cash to their "pocket" - simple as that.
PS, Estonia is Northern Europe ;)
In my country mybe 3$/L
If anyone in the New York City 5 boroughs needs Ln2 or Dry ice these are my sources.
Tell them alvin sent you!

$0.90/L here in india, regardless of quantity :)
$0.50 a liter here in Omaha from praxair when buying 160L's and less if you buy larger quantities...
since I can't fget delivery into the suburbs here in Des Moines I am stuck with $1 litre to start and then it will go down from there, oddly enough Praxair are Delta Bravos here and said they wouldn't sell to me and Airgas is like freaking expensive... the local shop took time to listen to me and get an idea of what I was doing and offered a good price that would go down with quantity. still bummed no delivery so I may just get ti delivered to our downtown store's fallout shelter :D
The more I buy the cheaper it gets but I still think its a bit over priced.
$75 for 50L or $240 for 180L. Dewar rental included in the price.
1.5 form the official distributor
0.5 from a ''friend''
Prices in Denmark: 7,3$ :-O
Prices in holland €1 a litre, so like 1.30 usd.
s0lid, everything costs more in Finland compared to Estonia. But Your salary is also bigger :p:
Welcome to "Bananarepublic of Estonia" :D
Some prices are really hard to understand - I've got in my town Linde Gas factory, which sells ln2 for 3$/l but I can buy the same ln2 for 0,6$/l (small company which is buying it from Linde). But if I don't have own dewar I can't buy it anywhere  Generally Linde has the biggest prices for everything. They have refrigerants almost two times more expensive than can be bought in other companies. Price of dice is also sick - 3$/kg (rose 3 times during this year).
New prices at Messer are 1.0€/L + tax, which makes for a total of 1.2€/L in Slovenia.
Been looking for days for some LN2 but no luck any tips on were i can get some ?

How far are you from Ceres? A quick google found an Airgas...

Depends on what CPU/VGA You want to cool. But 5L to be sure. Tho, these 5-10L dewars are usually not so good as 15-20L. If You find a good 20L dewar, it would be a good staring point. Good dewar has little LN2 loss and You can have another run weeks after You fill it up.
Assassin48, I have no idea about prices there in US. I got one very good 20L for some beers. And two 20L for ~75$. Two of them holds LN2 over month. Tho, they are old USSR ones, but still good.
If You don't want to buy a dispenser top, then You have to look, if it's easy to pour LN2. It has to be light also. I have seen 30L steel dewars and they have extreme weight :D
The "mouth" of dewar shouldn't be too big and not too thin also. Normal dewars have ~2-4'' diameter mouth.
what you think of this one?
it doesnt have the dispenser
its going for $225 shipped

gr...i hate all of you. Here in Bulgaria is impossible to find a LN2.I mean its only for hospital usage, and nobody sells it :(
Hi,
There is an Airgas right next to me (Airgas West Facility Type(s): Branch
Medical Branch) and I'm planning to do my first LN2 purchase soon.
What should I expect? Are there any requirements (min. amount, special handling permit, etc)?
Can I just arrive there with a dewar and ask them to fill it up?
Can we use conventional thermal bottles to store LN2 for a day?
Thanks!
I suppose you can use conventional thermal bottles for a day, but then for 20/30 liters you'd have to buy 20 / 30 thermal bottles ( we dont have em bigger then 1L, atleast, i havent found em yet ) and they cost quite some aswell. proper 2ndhand dewar on ebay is the best way to go i think.
Thanks, yeah I got a small cryogenic container (2l) that will do for quick sessions. I have an Airgas 2 miles from my place so it will be easy to get more.
I'm looking for a 10-20l used dewar and a decent Ln2 Cpu_Pot now.
I'm almost set with a bartx 1600g cpupot but can't find any reviews on it.
where can i get ln2 in los angeles;)
and how much?
how much in LA
calm down jar032
Aveiro, Portugal bought it for 2,3€/L at university :shakes:

Since most places require you to use a truck to haul the dewar home (i have a van and station wagon), i'm planning on going through a company i used to work with when i did HVAC because they'll drop it off at my house or let me take it home in my van, whereas no one else will do that for me due to insurance reasons. However they are telling me i need some sort of certification on my dewar (i guess aside from DOT) to make sure it's still in proper working order. They also haven't told me where to go to do it. I assumed the gas company would do the testing.. The company that's given me the lowest quote so far (125$ for 80L) looked at pics of my dewar and said it's cool, they just need to hold it for 24 hours to do a cool down (something i thought they only did for LHe, but my dewar has been in storage for at least a year, and still holds some degree of fluid according to meter no biggie) and then i can pick it up the next day full, if i had a truck. Any of you have any idea what they are talking about for certification? Isn't that testing done by suppliers? I have a tank of co2 for my MIG and i can pressure test the thing, though i know it doesn't leak because i can open the discharge valve and hear gas escaping... i guess that doesn't tell me if it can take the 12psi the tank operates at.. Nitrogen would probably be a better alternative for pressure testing though, wouldn't it? Dewar can be seen in my sig.
Mine has a DOT tag on it. I am not sure what they are talking about a cool down, your Dewar is not that much bigger than mine at 50L.
Yes they do cool downs on LHe Dewars but not really necessory on the size Dewars we use.
Reason they might want to do a cool down is so they do not waste so much LN2 to start filling it up, a fair amount can used in this process I guess.
Well they pick it up and return ir for you ?
I know airgas will if you have your own Dewars, the big ones that is.
I guess, worst case, just send it over to me and I will take it off your hands ;)
First, it's either source are small regional (by region i mean northern illinois) places so they probably don't want to lose any more gas than necessary, and probably make sure it holds pressure. I don't know if the other source would want to do that as well.
No, they won't drop it to a residential (haven't asked airgas, as they are little bit more than twice as expensive) but you just made me realize hey, i have a commercial address i can get it sent to and then take it home from there, since they will not let me do it without a truck for insurance reasons where as the place i'd have it delivered carries no responsibility for me dying in a freak ln2 leak on the 15 minute ride home. (on a side note when i worked at the tollway an airgas or praxair truck filled with some gas, and it must have a pressure release system incase of emergency, and it was venting, at about the volume (dB) of a commercial jet taking off.:yepp:)
Your dewar might not be that much smaller, but i do recall mine weighing ~270lbs when full of LN2 so even once i get it home getting it out of the vehicle will be fun, and i'm not even sure the proper method of lifting when full, i do recall it saying not to use the handles... i think a ramp still.. Any big guys in chicagoland want to bench with some ln2 and an otternase pot, just gotta help me get the SOB out of a van
Despite the really complex manifold on my dewar it does still have a gravity feed port, and it came with a 36" or so hose so if i rent i can transfer pretty easy, can do it with almost no lose if i can find an adapter..
0.9$/L in Hanoi, Vietnam :D
$70 plus tax to fill a 35L dewar. or 2.50 a liter.

1EU / liter, here in netherlands :)
That´s cheap. What firm?
Cryotrans.nl :)
1,00 - 1,20 € / liter, here in germany
1,45€/l + ADR fee 50€ (for any amount of LN2)
so 50l cost about 120€
Slovakia
Full filed rent 35l dewar is smth like 35 euro. Poland ;)
That's pretty darn good. For giggles, I tried a local airgas shop. $6.41/L. Yea, I won't be going LN2 any time soon.
At airgas i have to pay $39 for a 35l.
At other places i can get it as low as $0.45 for a 160L dewar.
http://kryolab.fysik.lu.se/
Click on prices - 8 Kroner is about $1
Jeeze just checked yesterday on LN2 prices here $6.75/L
They will always tell you some BS price up front. Just walk in with a dewar and when they ask you if you have an account  tell them no but you usually pay $1L somewhere else. If they won't do it for that or @ the most, $1.50L walk out. I've found it also depends on the location, on the eastside near me they won't even quote you for large 160/180L tanks, but if I go into Seattle they say no problem, when do you want it.
your right ghz
at airgas in parsippany $5.15L walk in with no account, with account $3.15L...yes i filled out the account sheet info.
They said I have to call a couple days ahead of time because they themselves don't have a fill station on site they have to get a larger dewar to fill mine.
Find someone else who deals with nitro. If they don't fill there they don't know how 'the game' is played and you'll get burned on price.
If you're in CT under $2/L should be doable. The east coast is generally pretty cheap. Just gotta shop around...
Gaut, any ideas for Boston?
I know my school will have a couple hundred litres of LN2 I can steal some of, next year :) I just need to get close to the labs :)
BAM, did a search for airgas and i will be rocking as soon as the dewer hits the driveway.....
this is gonna be very cool, pun intended. got a few boards for playing...

man o man i am so excited....
so what is the shelf life of a full load of LN2 in a dewer like this... know you can only ballpark but anyone??//
20L MVE Dewar w/ 100% Vacuum (small mouth)
also got the R3E and a nice W3570 :up::yepp:;):surf:
http://img.techpowerup.org/100820/dewer.jpg
same dewar i have...20L MVE Lab20 ( old old version)
day 1 full dewar
day 1 after moving around 19.5L
day 2 19.4L
day 10 18.5L
day 20 17L
day 30 16L
approx 1L loss per week/10days
1L is 0.8€ in Croatia, Messer but 10L Lab10 rent dewar is 3€ per day. Prize for new Lab10 is around 500€ , Lab20 750€ .
My Airgas guy quoted me $46.43 for 50L. No account needed.
about 1.5 € per liter, but it is quite difficult to find suppliers here in Croatia...
I pay 38 bucks for 10Liters.
You're getting ripped off batlecry. No airgas locations near you in Michigan?
I ended up paying just under $100 for 30l. My only other option is getting a 160l dewar from a welding supply shop and that will cost way to much for me. Living in a low usage area sucks.
Bad news from Ukraine. Till 2011 LN2 in Kiev (the capital city) was available at ~$1 per kilo (1.2 litres). Now it is almost $2 -(((
Some regional sellers also raised the prices. Not so tremendously ($1-1.3 depending on a region), but it won't help to me and my teammates who live in Kiev.
Time to go phase-change.
Wow,that sucks.
Ouch. You guys lose some LN2 production capacity or just a general price increase? I had this happen at one of my vendors so I just switched to another that still had the cheap price($0.30/liter vs an increase to $1.50/liter). My old vendor increased prices because I ONLY purchase 200-300L/month
the LN2 manufacturing plants still make the wholesale coolant as cheap as it was before. No production shortage I suppose.
It's only the sellers working with small clients who raised prices. Extra income 'from air' -) And it seems they all cooperated to do this. We don't have any local alternatives.
I got quoted $2 per liter from my local airgas here in central PA, which I was pretty happy with.
i was paying $4 but then $1.5 per L cuz i was there so much and so poor, then now i am getting them for free cuz they just love me
I got so f'ed on the last fill @airgas in pisscataway.
used to be $90 to fill my 24l dewar and just last week it was $160!!!! wtf?
i've compiled a list many moons ago for Australia if anyone needs some info
http://i4memory.com/f22/dry-ice-liqu...ustralia-3817/
You gotta try to get the same guy everytime. Different people charge different amounts. Sometimes you get a tightwad that does everything by the book and charges you full rate. I'm guessing you were getting the account rate, when you have an account it's cheaper. Sometimes, like I said, some by the book jerk will stiff you for the non-account rate.
Call around to welding shops and find out either if they'll sell it to you or who they get it from. It took over a dozen calls around my area to go from $6/L at airgas to $1.25/L from a welding supplier. Don't take what airgas tells you as gospel. They're not the only game in town most of the time; and if they are, you may be able to buy from someone who buys volume from them at a heck of a lot cheaper then they'll quote you. Also, once you find that cheaper price, like 87dtna mentioned, get the person's name and only speak with that person, or at the very least say the name of the person that quoted you the cheaper price.
Yeah right.
Any one from Cali know what ln2 usually runs for here?
just paid 8.93$ for 25L
oxarc ftw :D
am i getting ripped of or does this sound like normal price?
sorry i don't know
52.85 usd for 25L dewar refill :(
You're not getting raped, that's middle of the road pricing. You can do better if you work on it a bit.
@bad
thats where i started too...
now its free...or recently it was free, i wanted 25L but they ran out and only had like 15L. so it was free lol
On the first place I know here it's like 1.30 euro/liter and on the second place - 0.5 euro/liter. Problem is I don't have a dewar yet, too expensive and can't find source for used ones near me.
Dry ice is more expensive - 1.50 euro/kg.
I just found a AirGas about 54 miles away from me, so i look forward to seeing the price and getting some dice for the first time,...
In serbia 1.023 e\kg or 1.38$\kg
