I'm sick of benching manufacturer limited CRAP!
Without hardmods, you don't have any chance in hwbot...it's ok for the pros, but I definately don't want to do that!
I should have kept my 1440/1982 water 7970 Lightning and should have bought two more of them!
Anyway...my time with NV is over for now.....
Guys, while dwelling on my lacklustre BF3 performance I realised something: with Titan at all stock but +100 core clock it boosts to 1084 in 3D11 and hits 100% load, 100% power but in BF3 it only hits 100% load, 78% and runs at 836MHz .... any ideas why?
:(
Temps? Once they hit about 76-79*C they throttle. Well, some cards do, and even if you push temp slider up it makes no difference. Its like gpu boost doesnt work right on some cards. Some throttle at 60*C 80% power though so be glad its not one of them!
If I push the power slider up then +100 gives me 1110 MHz while playing BF3 but the fps doesn't look like I gained 280mhz....
:(
My cards is arrived:) ASUS GTX Titan SLI

I'm very jealous of all you >1xTitan owners, I'm going to stick with the one only .... one was dear enough for me, luckily it benches well.....
:D
Yeah :p:
Massman shared some titan mod info

Guys, I just fitted a full cover block and I am still getting a dropping of power level during 3d11 ... it starts off at 116 then each stage is lower until it gets to 93%... has anyone else seen this?
Has anyone tried the 300% bios linked above?
Its pulling 47 degrees max but its a dedicated loop with a little pump and a 120 rad, so not bad.
:D
Thats great temps :D
Are the clocks throttling?
If you can make the right bios you can get gt1 and gt2 to run full no throttle or voltage dropp and score about 1k more on the gpu side ;)
My stock evga sc card was crap in steady clocks(and voltage) in that one
Proud watercooled Titan owner! Managed to reach 1000Mhz core with 1200MHz boost and 3300MHz on the memory. Stable at 1212.5 mV (1.2125) modded my bios with these settings. Tried some things in the bios aswell! made the 106% power target into my 100% power target. My memory clock and gpu clocks are stable and does not drop, rock stable at 1200MHz boost. Power target reads max 98% yet i dont see any throttling :) Get very nice scores so it seem to be working!

Thanks mate, temps are a little higher than I hoped for but it is a minimal loop so it's ok I guess.
No throttling I can see, only the power level dropping slowly and when it does I get vertical rain like lines in 3D11, worsening until it crashes. What is power level exactly anyway? Gpu current? Because even though the clocks and voltage don't drop something is dropping as scores drop, I let it sit a bit then run again and power level is mostly restored. Is something else heating up through the 3D11 run?
I have got 17k gpu at 1228 core so I'm going to push the power level and vgpu a bit more, maybe with babas 125% 1.25v bios, see what she does then. I'm not yet game to try the hard mod but I might give it a shot soon ....
:)
Kvick - not bad mate, but your CPU is holding your scores back, I would be curious to see how it goes in games against stronger CPUs since most games only support four cores and no HT anyway right?
:)
hard mod + bios but hard mod is what i need for the pl.
Did not try the 300% one massman posted yet.
Water blocks installed. OMG silence, how I missed you :D
Cowie - I tried the 150% one but it only actually reaches 125 in AB and didn't make any difference over the 119 one I had, both max at 1228mhz.
Cryptik - yeah man, water in the best, shame it only gave me 26mhz more but that's better than nothing I guess.
I'm tempted to try the hard mod, to make the most of the water cooling. Is there a 1.25v bios that works? You said not to use the 1.25(3) bios on 1% right?
:D
Only 1228? thats good ain't it?
Sheez at 1.27v i can only go about 1240 and the other 1256 in sli
http://imageshack.us/a/img6/3948/t3d11sli3413521k.jpg
I can only run about 1287 with the good one @ 1.30v by itself, thats really just .058 over stock thuo.
Mine would do about 1178 maxed on stock bios and cooler, 1202 maxed with flash and stock cooler then 1228 now with bios and water. I'm out of touch with my 2011 rig too so im struggling to get it stable at benching clocks. This doesn't help my cause, I know cold would help CPU and gpu but it's not for me. I was lookig forward to Haswell but I don't think it will outscore my 3930k anyway (but that won't stop me trying ...)
:D
About 3000 physics points (depending on clocks and ram) or another 3000-4000 on top of that with a 3930K ....
:)
Guys, what sort of FPS do you get in BF3 with a single Titan? Im getting big drops still and Im not even on ultra....
and whats wrong with the file manager .... cant add pics ....
:(
EK + backplates installed. Had to tighten some of the EK block standoffs as they were a tad loose, one especially and would have prevented good seating, so just check before you go ahead and install.
http://i720.photobucket.com/albums/w.../slititans.jpg
Hey mate, did your blocks fit is described in the instructions? Did you have a problem with any of the screws?
:-/
Just ran a single card test loop on water. There's no throttle. Never really had the prob, but there used to be dips when the render engine would stutter. Not sure whether it's the latest 314.22 driver, lack of SLI, or just the lower temp.
I ran the same settings that I had on air. Stock GPU BIOS voltage set to max in Precision, GPU 1150, and RAM at stock. I haven't pushed anything yet. Just making sure everything works.
http://i45.tinypic.com/343kms6.png
I only notice a little jamming on one of the backplate screw holes. It's probably due to the black coating on the threads. I just threaded a screw in the hole prior to installing to get rid of the debris.
I tested Heaven 4.0, Valley, and walked around a bit in Crysis 3. That's all I could muster on my test bench with an Ms 1.0 mouse :)
I can run valley with no throttle on stock bios both cards at 1163 but 3dm11 brings it out. It's perfectly possible you have a good card that doesn't throttle but I would make sure with 3dm or fc3/more crysis3.
Just ran 3DM11 Extreme benchmark. Clocks only appear to dip during loading of a new scene or during the physics part.
http://i47.tinypic.com/krue0.png
Looking good, time to step it up to 1163?
Looking good! Now trade me since one of mine sucks.
You know all the tiny screws that you remove to take the factory cooler off? Well, one of the threaded holes in the water block, for the four main screws around the gpu core, was tapped in that tiny screw size, not the M3 size that the supplied M3x4 screws fits into .... very weird but it is working so ....
and why does the new afterburner not allow me to change vgpu or monitor it? Yes I unlocked voltage control and unofficial overclocking ... did I miss something?
It's possible that's where the max power was exceeding 106%. Regardless, I'm curious whether the new driver had an effect. I'm not able to confirm, because none of my cards dipped during regular loads in the past. Not all users were that fortunate. Some saw large drops in frequency, even though all parameters were within usable range.
nah its not driver, you need to play with the bios to get that fixed for 3d11...if it bothers you.

Try the bios in this post jonik
http://hwbot.org/forum/showthread.ph...606#post233606
All same 2d 3d voltages as stock card 1.23v without moving the slider.
good for 3d11 it will flat line clocks for you = more gpu points same clocks ;)
Some ss bfe
titan is 1200+ np 1.26v
maxxed settings is hard on any system even with just one 1080p monitor
I can gain some fps by just turing down msaa and some others but i dont :p:

some bf3 wake action too

Cowie - I just tried that one, it gives me 1.212v and no better clocks (still 1228 best)
:)
Then your ready for more voltage:D
hahah yeah I am thinking about firing up the soldering iron ....
:D
2x Titans owner here :) Can't wait to watercool those babies and start to play !

Sergio - all three do 1280 on air? Your a lucky bugger, mine on water does 1228 max and only marginally stable at that .....
What is your utilisation like in BF3?
:(
hey aussie yes they do solid 1306 also but need bit more volts so i prefeer 1280 +700 except 3rd card that dont likes over +550
im playing BF3 right now its like 33% to 55% depends on map but BF3 dont consume very much but Project Cars with the new AA methods oh man it eats like 66% to 77% of each all maxed and looks beautiful and smooth
Crysis 3 also eats 55% and more if i run MSAAx8 wich i can now
also i dont have any throttle with middle card runing 86C
i will up some screens if im allowed on this thread
btw you have same cards ? cauz this are binned at 1267 already
cheers !
Sergio
What brand are yours? Mine is a Gigabyte but I have tried every bios I can find, thats the best she will do.
If you ever want to sell one please let me know.

Thank you loads andressergio :)
Hope they clock even remotely as well your 3x 680's.. those things are monsters !!!
Love your setup tons !
Cheers and thanks again :)
Ok peeps Is that time again...time for an upgrade. And i saw an offer down here for a Titan. So im really thinking about joining this club.
Now, how crazy am I for wanting to run the titan with my setup? Im planning on upgrading the rest later in the run, but i think i shouldnt let this offer go by.
Any input?
Also, whats up with the reviews on 1080?????? Am I in some hipster club with my u2711?
THanks!
Nah i'd say 7970 + 3770k z77 mb
I was wondering what TEAMAU had up there sleeves...#1 fastest single card vantage run ever.
And i think they got more lol ;)
http://hwbot.org/submission/2375704_...an_66204_marks
Cpu is great but they will need 700-1000 points on the gpu side for a run at 3d11 :D
Still like to know about the 24+8 power connector on that badboy :p:
Well decided to go for it.. got a couple of hydro coppers.. actually I was skeptical, but the blocks do seem to be performing well.. only 2 issues .. the sticker is poor and ill fitting (thankfully on underside , and the fittings touch the back plate when tightening so a small scratch.. .. frustrating for the cost..
Anyway temps great, a max temp swing of 8 degF, from min to max loads .. Cards .. not the best but solid performance, managed to get both 1150 , at 1.20V.. running smoothly and does not seem to throttle....and a 500 increase in mem without problems.. with the existing bios.
so all in all very happy.
and decent 3DMARK11...

Anybody here able to play Battlefield 3 with the Geforce Titan without getting the 'DirectX function "GetDeviceRemovedReason" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG' error? I really tried everything I could think of: power management, underclocking, driver versions, reinstalls, etc But the problem keeps coming back. Sometimes I can play for 20 hours without problems, sometimes it crashes after a few minutes. I have checked temps etc. System is OCCT stable for many hours. Except when I test the GPU, after about 6 hours it just stops putting load on my system and gives a 'Crysis 2.exe' error (but I don't have Crysis 2 on my system). And when I check the graphs of OCCT I see this happens with the memory of the GPU gets completely filled.

wow, nice score
lol this thread died in the ass didn't it
ha ha... where you going with titan without a better ass end? without its like walking on eggshells
How many are going to do that and pretty much forget about the card for any thing not benchmarking ever again not to mention resale.
I may do mine after the next over priced ref top end nv pos comes out if I don't sell it buy then.
I roll on my 780 DCII now for benching, titan is just my lamer gamer card :D
Im still gaming on my SLI titans :) BFBC2, 2560x1600 at 200 FPS

Watercooled with open window cold air!
I am surprised those VRMs are able to take that kind of voltage.
Man you got that thing rocking!!!!
Impressive stuff here Mr TooShort
Wow!! Really impressive TooShort! How do u unlocked the Voltage to 1,5 via AB?
Thanks!!
This should unlock up to 1.45V w/ a reference Titan and 1.325V on a reference GTX780.

http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/6552/72zj.png
Damn...and your doing that with software and cooling only no other mods?

yes cowie. Just the software mods at overclock.net with an EK block/backplate with cold winter air as stated.
Seen a guy push 1.45v into his reference 780 at that site and I thought, what the heck, so can I... but I went up to about 1.5v. Seems the VRMs can handle a lot if very cold!
Plus I got lucky with a golden Titan!:D
There's people that have smoked the VRM's running far colder than you, I'm not convinced they an take it for very long.
Having mine frozen white did not help it lol but never over 1.40v and 1370 was max
You have a great card there what is the asic?
ASIC is 79.2%
Oooohhh so you got that one :D
Yo guys,
can I install the 337.91 driver for my (single) Titan-Black even though the driver is released for the Titan-Z?
