backplate is good
Damm I so want two of those sexy cards lol
thanks mates
yes this are reference card i just put the backplates :)

not bad ;) load temps around 35c 1.45v
hello:)
my 3dmark11 in sli Attachment 126195
low score physx : (
Lower memory frequency and tighten timings will help physics :D great score though still, very nice scaling in sli :)
Hi,
great score Simous .
thanks for your coment ;) :) , the physx score in low because i have 2x4go and with 4x4go better score , i think
congrats all for the nice results :)

Simply amazing card, just finished my review on it :)
nice epic: Up: good card : Yepp:
While I was fleshing out all of my GTX 680's to find which was the best over-clocker I found out I have a beast card. I always wondered why this card all the way at the end in my 4-way SLI config operated so much cooler than the others. It is crazy efficient.
1328 MHz core, 3580 MHz memory at stock voltage! Also EVGA Scanner X and OCCT stable at these frequencies. My other three GTX 680's would top out around 1240-1260 MHz core when used on their own.
This core is so efficient it idles at 18 C! Anyone else see clocks like these? It will make a nice single GPU for my new mini-build.

Hello callsign
you have a very good graphics, very fast board, 1328mhz it is the frequency gpu-z or the frequency reality?
You got some artifacts dude, need more juice.
Great card anyway :yepp:
How could you tell that?
Guys, I don't see many of you going for water cooling, but does anyone know which water blocks work best on these? Does the cooler split like a 580 so I can leave the backing plate on and use a VGA-Supreme?
Splave - great work as always.
sweeeeet
Nooooo nooooo...
Today I tested my new toys.
First one 1325Mhz (with boost) no problem.
Second one ONLY 1200 (with boost)  :shakes:
This is not happening
I will try to flash BIOS from the first card. Probably will not help. But...
How can i flash BIOS? Is the procedure the same as on the GTX4xx, 5xx?
@andressergio
Can you please test 3DM11 on 5000Mhz and 1st card 1300/500, 2nd card 1200/500. And then both on 1200/500.
Thx
Hey guys
I'm very unhappy with my 680 SLI
My results are very low compared to others.
For example:
andressergio has a very similar system.
He scored 17772 with CPU@5000MHz and GPU@1275MHz
I scored 16500 with CPU@5000 and GPU@1324MHz and 1200MHz (max for second card)
If i sync cards to 1200MHz, i get little lower score. This is almost 1300 points difference.
Another example:
giorgioprimo scored with one 680 11095. CPU@4500MHz and GPU@1235MHz. I tried with CPU@5000Mhz and GPU@1324MHz and scored 10800.
Stability is not an issue. If i lower the clock, i get lower score.
I already reinstalled WIN and no success.
WTF? Where is the problem?
One more thing. I'm still on P67 UD7 B3.
I have not tried my new Z77 yet.
cole
u dont have to sync cards i tested thats not good for OC, i just use as this
this is with chip at 5400HT
http://img845.imageshack.us/img845/8492/octavo3.jpg
if i put sync wont do that
i will test what u asked when i recover im sick this days
btw im still on same as you P67 B3
cheers
Sergio
nice and sweet bios for a daily on air...

whats special about it other than clock rates
Guys I want to use a gpu only block on my 680 while retaining the factory backing plate for component cooling (as I did on my 580). With my 580 I had to file the corners of the base to fit into the opening o the backing plate but it seems that 680 has a smaller opening again so does anyone know of a universal gpu block that has a smaller base than an EK VGA supreme HF ?? Or will I need a shim?
Thanks guys.
:)
No go huh?
Ok has anyone worked out a way to get a bit more vcore without soldering ?
:D
http://shrani.si/f/1d/v/4Sd24mud/b.jpg
http://shrani.si/f/1G/z7/3Fiufguc/a.jpg
Backplate and screws will be painted in matt black.
BTW:
Where are you all? So many 680 users and this topic is "dead" :shakes:
the overclocking is just to simple and boring i guess
Any advice on getting these things to boost right. I have a offset set in EVGA Precission X (3.02) yet the cards aren't boosting... at all. Both trucking along at 1006 regardless of 3D load. Using the 301.24 betas,
haven't tried the launch driver or the developer one.
My 670 in my other system is working just fine though... but I did have the same issue and a restart fixed it. Not the case with the 680s. The memory clock changes work though. Its not like I need to overclock
them as I'm happy enough with the performance but if I can, I will ;)
Can someone try this? My UD5 is on RMA
http://www.obr-hardware.com/2012/05/...sable-gpu.html
Don't feel to bad, I can't even raise the offset more than about 50 without getting a driver stoped responding error in either 3d11 or heaven
Yeah this thread is very quiet ....
Guys when you set vcore with precision X it slides to 1.215v but sets lower, do any cards allow you to set vcore higher ?
What's taking so long to get the good models out eg Lightning ??
:)
^nope thats the max without vmods
Are there any non-permanent mods ? Or get the soldering iron out ? I'm hoping Lightning will have some nice mods built in
:)
there was a theory that someone could mod the bios to change the voltage IDs to use a valid and also higher value than the current max. no clue how thats going right now. but im sure its a dead idea.
Add a third card to my sli, for now it's sync:
http://tof.canardpc.com/preview2/bea...18704d7549.jpg
Tried eleven cards to find three which clocks above 1300mhz... Tried one 670 =>1346mhz aircooled pfff...
What does 2 way SLI score at those clocks?
Has anyone found that one brand clocks better than any other?
:D
I'm not sure if its a driver issue or what but I can set an offset of 120 and games are just fine but in the few benchs I've tried, anything over 20 or so results in a driver stoped responding error. I'm not sure if I could individually clock the cards and see if one is a stinker or if there is something else going on here... I'll have to toy with the new whql drivers.
Looks like you all have good chips, unlike me :(
I can't get over approx. P9000 in 3DMark11.
This is done by either +160 core and +575 mem with a power limit of 132 or +170 core and +200 mem, with 132 power limit.
I also have a i5-2500K with the standard clock because I'm waiting for some watercooling.
My results are:

Next step 3770K.
Managed to get both cards to 1175 boost. It seems my Galaxy card is weaker than my Asus. This is with dynamic vcore and power states enabled with the 2600K.

Anyone have a ref msi 680 that i can compare mine with? +165 core is max i can get on mine before it craps out in Heaven, still playing with the mem though. Heres my current score - +165core - +256mem.

mr tooshort what version of 3d11 are you using?
My physic score are sooo sht its not funny even with my 3930k @5.3 only 15k ram is @1100
I'm using the latest 3dmark version.
ok thanks i ask because my physics score is crap 15.5k with my 3930k @5.3 maybe duel channel @1090 is the reason idk?
scored a new Evga Gtx680 sc Signature model,a P9302 3D 11 points seems about as good as my old system can do on air in my 80F den
Boarderlands all maxed at 2560x1600 is smooth
Its still like any other card thats put out all pot luck.
I had two ref asus cards 1 went +170 the other +190 i have two asus dcII oc's 1 goes +180 the other +220,but its sooooo easy to hard mod the dcII's even on just stock cooling +300 is obtainable np and temps are very good

http://img543.imageshack.us/img543/930/3d1168012443.jpg
I like that mate, sounds great. Does the TOP offer anything other than higher factory clocks? Do you think its worth waiting for a Lightning or will a dcII be just as good?Quote:
but its sooooo easy to hard mod the dcII's even on just stock cooling +300 is obtainable np and temps are very good
:)
I dont know aussie you know those lightnings are always hard to beat, just late to shops .
remember the dcII's have a tri slot cooler if thats a factor for you, lightnings are always 2.1 slot
The thing is the dcII has the easy hard mod points for vgpu vdram and pll so its all up to you
Playing around with DCU II here, got one card that OC's ok without the vmodd but I think I need a fresh win 7 install.

should have some time to play tomorrow
Well i hope to see all the juicy details in your and booj's reviews
Dont worry i just look at the pictures
Hey wait that box be custom yo'
Well what it show up at your shop or a stray? lol
you a tester or something? not in retail yet right?
BTW
what is "3x3 oc kits"? tri volt? any tri monitor for temps?
just a lucky guy is all, Idk it has monitor leads for PLL CPU and MEM maybe? or that fact you can control them in AB would be my guess
There is a review or two up of the MSI lightning
http://www.guru3d.com/article/msi-ge...htning-review/
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/M...680_Lightning/
so it looks like good old ab will be good for tri voltage and monitoring but its not working yet
I hope they allow up to atleast 1.35v,never know some tricks may be able to be used for more but i think 1.35ish is around the minimum that would truely help for higher clocks on the 680 chips.
Very nice...
MrTooShort - is that DCuII vmodded? Or is that how well they clock stock? Very nice either way.
Nice cpu score too.
Cowie - yeah mate, does anyone know how far the unmodded Lightning will go with vgpu? If it can do 1.3+ without soldering and VR's then that would be great. But that might be reserved for the XE right? :(
:)
Thanks guys:)
No volt mod. Card has a waterblock and backplate from EK. The backplate adds to the vrm cooling which this card needed compared to the stock cooler. The memory chips are ran passively also too on the stock cooler. The waterblock helped me get around 25Mhz core and 100Mhz memory more OC compared to stock cooling. Pretty much a waste of money getting the waterblock for the gains, but I wanted to have a watercooled gpu to go with my set up.
Great score mrtooshort
@
aussie
not sure but one guy said 1.26v that he read with his dmm but as i said not sure at all.
I dont know a thing yet about ab limits or stock voltage, but dcII is so easy to mod its just like software.
I'm so lame i did not even use solder on 1 card, bridged pad with conductive pen pushed wires thuogh the holes and held with a tad of putty connected the vrs with a two pin conector for fast removal or install...just the resister i had to remove that defaced the card really.
i play bf3 at 1400 but have @1450 too with no crashes at all 1.38-40v
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ge5wF3MzUlQ&feature=plcp
The lightning will be mine soon so i will have info to share and see if a can get some voltage tricks working on it.
I received a Signature SC+ today but am disappointed to see it maxed out at 1273mhz ..... so I bought a Lightning :D
MrTooShort - what do you do to get 17k cpu score? What rams are you using mate?
Are these the current type?Quote:

are backplates on these necessary? do they add any performance or just bling? my bench table lets my card sit upright so i dont know if i even need one
took about 10c off my temps with a h70 i modded to fit one of my volt modded dcII's
1,38v 1430 boost max 53c in a 67f room i played for a few hours
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4VqX5qLEmog&feature=plcp
More bf3 wake
1.40v 1450 boost i put a 220 cfm on the h70 was cooler here in jersey too i think i maxxed out at 43c-44c

Nice Cowie !
Hardmod ?
Yes i have two hard modded
2.2.3 Afterburner is up, supports 680 Lightning and 670 Power Edition.
http://event.msi.com/vga/afterburner/download.htm
Go hard boys, show us what these cards can do
mrTooShort and Cowie,
How did you voltmod your cards ? Did you just solder the indicated pad and remove resistor or did you also attach variable resistor for PLL,VMEM and VCORE ? I have the GTX680 DCUII TOP.
My thread: Link
I have a result for you guys:
P13011
Thats unmodded, LN switch, 2.2.3 Afterburner, water cooled with an EK VGA Supreme universal vga block.
As you might guess, I am very happy with the result, 1442mhz
nice run there man
i'd think with +100mv in ab and ln2 bios your about 1.35v which is not bad and good for 24/7 with your cooling.
I dont have one so the info about voltage is from another user
whats "LN switch"?
^Ln2 bios switch
Will you guys do me a favor and tell me some tricks for 3d11 it hates me my clocks are stable and higher then some but my as5 is off 500 on the gpu side and freakin thuosands on the physics side .
The only game in town with a 680 is 3d11 too that sucks
cowie - post up a screenshot along with details of your rig so we can help.

Card is hotwired and I'm running the voltage from the motherboard's bios. Voltage ~1.37v
finally joined the 680 club. have my msi gtx 680 lightning running @ 1320/7008 and so far it seems stable and really fast. but i dont think that running the mem that high 24/7 is a good thing??
now i'm offended by you and mrts scores... you hackers :D
I got a sbe 3930k on a rive new w7(24/7 os) sli 680 cards are at 1400 or so and the chip 4.8 duel channel ram 2200ish for the run in this link
http://3dmark.com/3dm11/3989108
even when i get the chip @ 5.3 it will only be 15,5k physics
