Do not lower your guard......The beast is amongst us
Wow... can't wait to see what that thing averages out at.
But $4k in processors? I can build 6 complete 2600K builds for the processors alone... lol
Peh, your info is old..
RAC is close to 10K now,..:D
http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?p...hostid=1983385
Everyone can have 6 2600K's - but there's only one system on WCG with 2x E5's :D
Hold on that thought :) But still, close enough.

+1 :)
i ve got an idea! you turn everything off/unplug it (so even the other computers) go into your cellar and have a look at your electric meter that the utility company installed. then you count how many seconds it takes for one kwh and you got your kws for that beast. or i guess you could always buy a new kill-a-watt but would that be xtreme?!
Edit: mm posted the kill a watt numbers in the other thread. it uses ~420W at 100%
Updated Has the beast run out of puff already?
Holy smokin mother of pearl Batman
Sweet Lady Smith Black Mambazo!
Finally! My 2600K numbers are starting to make sense!
I shall be joining you all soon!

3770k on H100 running 4.4ghz and 128watts
Why do I see so many 2600k's with lower clock speeds than mine on there and I'm not? Is this a special club I've not been invited to?? :)
OS, Choice of WU's, rig settings, Other work the rig does and most of all if you are hitting the 5k requirement then you need to register it onto the chart (topleft)
http://boincstats.com/stats/host_gra...wcg&id=1873854
So that's good enough right?
These are my 2 hosts after SCW:
http://boincstats.com/stats/host_sta...96162&active=1
Both are below the 5000 threshold but the i7 990X is getting close. Two new E5645's are arriving tomorrow (my 2012 upgrade) :)
It might be best to use the add new host link on the left of the host table so that you can provide all the OS & OC data.
I can't believe I've been running wcg so long... yet know so little about where to find stuff. How do I convert the computer ID # to the netbios name without shutting things down to see what is still running? At issue, identifying my 5 2600s and 5 2600Ks by the #.
I find using a program like boincview very helpful for this type of think, the projects tab shows each host, ID, and average credit and all that

Thanks trn. I'll give it a try. :)
Did you ever install the current version of CPU-Z to find out the correct v-core on your 3930K? ;)
Oh yeah, I did do that. i'm at 1.32v @4.5Ghz under WCG load now; not sure if this is 100% stable yet. My temps are very good, 51 - 57c right now. I only tried quickly but couldn't post at 4.7Ghz or 5.0Ghz, didn't try 46 multiplier. I'm sure with tweaking I could get the higher multipliers to work but it seems like 4.5Ghz is a sweet spot for this chip.
my 3770k just threw down 11400 BOINC today
who am i competing against now
Thanks. I had to ask. My 3960x posted and ran @ 4850+ with 1.336 v-core. Not stable. F@H smp forced me to back off that. 2 out of the last 3 days, I've come home to a machine with the lights on but no one was home. Grrr... I've been tweaking. I'm sorely tempted to push the v-core to see if I can get stable @4850. I should be adding an extra 240mm rad to keep temps down this weekend. :yepp: I reckon the worst that can happen is I'll have to buy an 8 core chip in Nov. I may need some liquid courage. LOL.
idk, i have it doing everything my other machines are. right now its doing HCC taskes chugging through them in 56minutes.
also doing C4CW, GFAM,
yep thats all thats currently running on it
HCC X09000 in 55-57 minutes a piece
oh and i havent touched it in 3 days. its stable and im not messing with it, even if explorer is corrupted
Added 1 3770K. Will add 2 more when RAC hits the threshold. :)
10k a day on 128watts
Attachment 126627
164 results yesterday, divided by 8 threads = 20.5 tasks per thread in 24 hours. thats 70 minutes per task average
Lol, disguising one of trn's i7 3930k as an 2600k doesn't count: Host ID "1545265" :rolleyes::rofl:
By the created date, i think it was updated. ;)
Edited: Yep, it switched with Host ID "1839129"
Just kicked the beast into this although it's on Mom's account for the last week..
I'll need to take it back soon as my lucky #20 position is in jeapordy! :D
i think GFAM is weighing me down. HCC and C4CW are giving me huge numbers. wake up at 7:30 and see 169 results returned for the day already
Yeah I'm on there!
My 990 is now over 5000 RAC - form submitted.
This is a nice leader board as it is always current :)
Added a second 3770K tonight. Bleep. I wasn't paying close enough attention during SCW. 2 of my 3770Ks weren't quite stable. 4+ pages of WUs with errors. Hopefully that is corrected. :p:
i have to wipe my drive to get it updated and stable =\
5.0 GHz
Was running CFSW but now its back to everything.
4.4ghz on H100. i was running everything but i think it may have focused GFAM, im not sure. I will be wiping the drive tonight and i can do tests for certain projects if you want.
Still not as fast as Bun-Bun's 2600K :ROTF::ROTF::ROTF:
gonna be a long time before im on that list ; ;
Stoneageman
You may remove my 2700K (host id 1929503) from the list, it's down. I will add it again with the new host id, when it's fully functional, for now it's crunching with a replacement boot disk.
Grabbed a sata power cable from a Corsair AX-1200 psu and plugged it in a Corsair AX-850 psu, the result: 4 fried hard disks :shakes: :(
Fresh numbers
@pfm3136 Done, thanks
Only down side is I'll be starting from scratch later this week. This 150 gig Raptor can't handle all the reads and writes even with a timeframe of 1200 seconds set in WCG.
Periodically I'll do something as simple as opening a window in IE and it will lock..
Have a 128 gig SSD coming and hopefully that can handle the load.
Why start from scratch? Copy the BOINC data folder over and it keeps the same hostid. And you don't lose any work progress.
No problem
Win 7 Boinc data folder is in the hidden folder programdata by default.
Someone want to give stoneageman a :stick: for an update..I mean it's been almost 4 days..:D
OUCH :shakes:
Updated.
Despite Infrnls valiant last stand , Daves 'beast' finally takes the lead. Have added a column for co-processors.
Just to add that Infrnl still holds No.1 spot for the highest ever RAC :yepp:
and to add another.....INFRNL still holds the #1 spot.... I had hdd issues and still working on it, but My 5670's ended up on another ID because I lost everything from the last one. according to free-dc, my rac is 15231 and I think its still slowly climbing  new ID is: 1998502. 5670X2@4092 Win7 64 on Air
Dave's monster is still kicking some arese though; makes me wish I had 32 threads:shakes: Just wait till those can be oc'd; then the monster will truly be unleashed. I do not think Dave has topped out yet, at least I hope not. His 32 threads@3400 compared to my 24@3460 is a close margine. However I am sure dave is saving on the electric bill compared to mine. I think the 5645's are pulling just over 200w iirc.
Keep up the hard work Dave:up:
I have a GTX580 not a GTS250!
Does the host ID change when I move the host to another account? It will no longer run in my name. But does it still show on the top host list or does it start over on a new host ID?
New host ID
ahh, well thats all good and fine but this is a little more low tech.
I mean open case on my kitchen table..:D
Thankfully five feet behind it is a sliding glass door that does draw most of the heat out as long as the outside temps are under 80F
Now I do close that door at night and when I get up in the am this furnace has heated the entire top floor of the house to 84-85F and thats with night time temps of 60's and a window left open in the living room..Yea, 2-150W cpu's toss a sheetload of heat..
Normally, the only appropriate response would be to call you a p_s_y. If had had the beast, I would probably baby it too. :yepp: That hardware costs some serious coin. It hit 93F here today. My main rig and IBs were running full honk. The whole farm would have been running if it weren't for enemies of the state trying to de-industrialize the United States so 3rd world countries could catch up. eg: The EPA's war on coal, CO2 ( really? carbon dioxide is something like .038% of the earths atmosphere. If you multiplied that by 10 plants and crops would thrive. And the sheetheads in power want to tax it? ), drilling and the closing down of U.S refineries on the East coast. I could go on but you will probably have to edit my post anyway. Don't ask me to call tonight. ;)
:toast::toast2:
It isn't the machine thats the issue, it's temps are controllable. It is the huge heat dump into the house and keep in mind that I haver a 82 year old lady here to make sure she doesn't drop dead from the heat.
Just to give you an idea yesterday all day and last night it rained here with temps in the 50'sF
I get up today and the house temp is 84F and thats with a window wide open in the living room 15 ft from the machine.
Now once I opened the slideing door to the porch 5ft behind it the house temps started dropping fast.
It just plain heats the house to an enormous degree.
Now the upside is this winter this thing may save me a ton on oil..:D
i require access to your special club
http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?p...hostid=2032619
:fact:
Congrats.
Fill in this form and it will be added at the next update.
https://sites.google.com/site/xtreme...or-update-host
I'm waiting for that update to see the 3770 that I won at the hardware give away to make it on that list.
@StoneAgeMan
You may remove my 3930K with host id 1929689.
Filled the entry form with 3930k & 2700k new hosts ids.
Pulled! Before the 'beast' wakes up :D
Only at 1806RAC now but then again it's only been "up" for the last 36 hours..:D
Attachment 127445
Looks like my 2600K crashed again, but Ive been out of town and can't fix it.
Thanks for putting my 5670 rig back on the list SAM; appears to be doing better than the last time. Hopefully those systems are holding up while I'm gone. Apparently there was a flash flood in Colorado Springs; so hopefully any power outages got the systems back up ok.

anyone wanna bite? If these are legit...
Yeah. But what if....
My RAC is down as my dedicated cruncher (i7 990x) has been down since last Monday. My system started random BSOD's and then Windows complained that system files were missing so I decided to wipe my install and start fresh, however I then updated the firmware on my Vertex 2E and it went titsup. RMA time! It is a known problem with first gen Sandforce SSD's and OCZ will replace it. Also been having strange issues with the MB as my 1866 RAM would only run at 1333 even though BIOS is set at 1600.
As DFI are now gone from the market there are no more BIOS updates so I decided to "upgrade". I have been watching SB and SB-E but as I already have an almost unbeateable CPU, I decided to get a new revision MB (GA-X58A-UD3R rev.2) and go with a new Vertex 4 while I wait for the replacement SSD. I was surprised how hard it is to find new X58 boards now, choice is really limited. At least this one has an improved VRM, SATA3, and USB3.
Hope to be back up and running this week. In the meantime, my "server" is crunching WCG on about 12 cores.
ok, it took 4 days to get over 5000RAC..:D
Attachment 127468
Just 4 days:eek: My new 3770 took 14 days to do that. And I'm sure you rig hasn't run out of steam yet and will climb a little further.:yepp:
