Same here mate G.skill rulz with this board!

Hey all,
Having trouble with getting CF setup and working. I know both cards work (by themselves) but it would seem the way I have them in the board that CF isn't recognized. Note also on boot that the 2nd (bottom card) runs with 100% fan and won't spin down on boot or when I get into windows.
PCI-E Setup:
1st - 6970
2nd - empty
3rd - Highpoint RR3510
4th - empty
5th - 6970
I was trying to stay away from having the 2nd 6970 right below the RR3510 to save a little heat and I figured it didn't matter, but it would seem it does? Or is my board just broken :(. Thoughts/solution be great. TIA
I have a similar setup: 2 VCs and a raid card (LSI 9260-8i). If you have SSDs on raid, you'll want the raid card either in slot 1 or 4 as these don't use the NF200 which will bottleneck tall sequentials due to latency. Wouldn't go more than 800MBps in my ATTO tests on the MivE and UD7--with non-NF200 lanes, it could go to 1600MBps (1GB test, raid cache is 512MB).
However, with 2 VCs on slots 1 and 5, putting the raid card on slot 4 didn't work for me as it couldn't detect the card--I didn't bother booting to see if the VCs will work on SLI. Have not tried to put the raid card on slot 3 as I knew I wouldn't like the result even if it worked. So I ended up with the raid card on 1 and the VCs on the nf200 lanes 3 and 5 as seen here:
http://i404.photobucket.com/albums/p...ivE_1024-1.jpg
The VCs are indeed crowded in there but I plan to watercool them anyway so it works out for me.
On another note, 8GB hypers on tap:
http://i404.photobucket.com/albums/p...3x100_9_-1.jpg
Sorry, didn't mean to imply it's just one 8GB kit. That's 1pc GTX2 and 3pcs GT binned from 2 CMG6GX3M3A2000C7 kits. They're EOL hypers, can't buy them retail anymore.
With 4GB (GTX2 plus top binned GT), spi1m@1.65vdimm/1.135vccio and spi32m @ 1.75vdimm for 2133 7-7-6 with those subs. 8GB needs a bit more as the rest of my GT kits can't keep up with the top two. All of them can do 2133 7-7-6 as 4GB pairs.
I just have 4 x 1TB Seagate drives which isn't a huge bandwidth hog. It was more worried about having the VCs the way you have them in your shot. I've run them close together b4 and they' weren't happy at all. WCing isn't really in the cards for me either at the moment.
I wonder why the bottom card isn't being detected properly. IMO it shouldn't matter where the cards are plugged in, they should still be recognized.
Maybe I'll try:
PCI-E Setup:
1st - 6970
2nd - empty
3rd - Highpoint RR3510
4th - 6970
5th - empty
Just going to be worried about roasting the RAID controller.
Having trouble getting a couple of systems with M4E (B3 1305 BIOS) stable with 4x4GB XMS3 CMX8GX3M2A1600C9 anyone else tried this RAM with this board?
Dont know if you fixed this yet but for me I had the same problem and I had to switch my boot drive off of the marvell sata ports and onto one of the others, it works fine now. I now only use the marvell for my dvd drive.
Dont know if that helps at all in your situation.
My B3 came factory installed with 1101 BIOS.

I will let you know what mine comes with, I purchased from Newegg on 3/22/11 and tracking# says out for delivery so I will post back in a few hours.
1101 on my b3 as well
Follow up to my post above. It's the RR3510 that's causing all my problems. If I use a 5870 everything is good, but as soon as the 6970s go in then I can't get the computer to boot reliably. I'm just going to sell the controller and use the on-board Intel RAID, not really in it for the speed, just the storage protection.
Finally got my Board Thursday and my system together and up and running today. Running LinX at 5Ghz, DDR3-2133, vcore 1.44v at the moment.
Will post up some stability tests and benchmarks shortly. Here are some pics and specs:

New bios 1303 ;)
Yes, thank you:up:
I am currently having some issues that maybe someone has experienced or can help.
I am running 50x100 1.43vcore, auto vccio and vccsa DDR3-2133 8-9-8-24-1T and can pass 20 runs LinX but fail in first hour of Prime95 and get random blue screen 124 BSOD. I have tried raising vccio as high as 1.25v and all in between 1-1.25v. I have not changed vccsa from auto so I raised it to 1.11v and am getting ready to run Prime95 blend now and will report back.
Vcore 1.43v
VDRAM 1.65v
VCCIO - auto
VCCSA - 1.11v
LLC 75%
everything else auto
http://i580.photobucket.com/albums/s..._898-24-1T.jpg
LINX is good only with SP1 win7, otherwise must use PRIME for stability.
SP1 is installed and still passes 20 runs. I finally got it to pass Prime for 1+ hour. Raised vcore to 1.445v raised LLC 100% raised vccsa to 1.11v and raised vccio to 1.18v
Sent from my HTC EVO using Tapatalk
if ure using vcore set to 1.445 and LLC 100%
ure close to 1.5v bud on load
u can still use LLC 75% but u need to be accurate. i use this up to 5.0 at 1.52v
with u raising vssa etc for mere 2133..
still dont think ure stable.
Well we will find out in a few hours. I started Prime95 this morning before work and it was still running after an hour when I left. Will see if it's still running when I get home.
Also, if you look in the Xtreme Bandwidth section you will see Chew had to raise his vccsa from stock for his 8-9-8-24-1T testing with my same set of memory, same MB and cpu. This is the first 12 hour stretch I have gone without any random blue screen 124bsods since I've reaised vccsa to 1.11v.
I am going to hook my mutlimeter up to the Board tonight to see actual vcore with LLC100%. CPUZ is reporting 1.45v when bios is set to 1.445v
With SP1 you get access to AVX instruction in windows, therefore you are able to stress your CPU beyond prime levels using LINX with AVX, otherwise ( without avx ) you should stick with prime, because it will stress your CPU more then LinX. You can confirm this using a killwatt or one of those nice piece of softwares that read CPU watts
What kind of issues/performance hit would I run in to using pciex16_1 and 2 for SLI instead of the suggested 1 and 3? I did not budget my space for using 1 and 3 :shakes:.
Also, are either (both?) of the molex 4 pin power connections on the board required, and what do they do? I read conflicting information that they are for SLI / Tri-SLI or are for USB power...
Thanks,
-sf
Use the two 4 pins, you dont loose anything in doing so... Not sure thought what they feed.
slot's 1 and 2 will give you SLI/CF using the NF200 bridge. You will take a sligth performance hit. 5% ?? due to the lag add by it.
I've got SLI 580s running in slots 1 & 3 without using either of the molex's on the board without any probs.

Well, I should have my board tomorrow. I'm excited and disapointed at the same time. No way to use my soundcard with trifired cards.
May have to send it back and get a UD7 with a waterblock for the board.:shakes:
Anyone knows how to fix issues between maximus 4 extreme and amd drivers?I keep getting BSOD while opening cpu-z vga tab,aida64 or aisuite,on windows7 64-bit...This happens only on amd vga's...
Also some cas6 testing with my new board :D

full w7 install here, xp soon to come. . .

what vga are you running :)?
Hmm,told ya,cpu-z keeps crushing my systen when i go to vga tab. Also i cant get aisuite to work properly, even if i applied that patch...What the name of the tool that displays voltages ?I was running 1.1 SA and 1.15 VCCIO.Ill try harder tomorrow, with proper tuning i hope ill reach at least 108 BCLK.
Well thing is that i have management engine installed :)
Thought so at first, but primming with 896K fft and memtest did not reveal anything...In my other OS,xp 32 bit i have no problems at all :) Also, could someone tell me how can i use offset voltage on maximus?Apreciated.
If you click on the Digi+VRM/Power Control button and change the Vcore Phase Control setting from "default" Extreme to one of the other selections it will then allow you to select either manual vcore or offset vcore back on the first Extreme Tweaker Tab menu.
@l0ud_sil3nc3
Offset vcore is working fine for me with a milder 47x daily "crunching" o.c at ~1.31v load.
2140 6-9-6-20:D
http://i54.tinypic.com/2uqeirq.png
cpu is L041C108, but I have two more of the same batch here and they are not as good as this one, as for memory it is this kit
thank you:up:
I will try 101 bclk when I get back to the house, but honestly the subs that Chew* gave me helped shave quite a bit of time off and not to mention 22xx 7-9-6-20 was faster than 2140 6-9-6-20 with the same subs:shrug:
this board and memory work so well together, I hope that the UD7 is just as nice on the 2D benches.
Can anyone confirm it is able to use x16 x16 in crossfire?
Thanks
Can someone teach me how to enable offset mode in M4E?
Hi everyone,
I was wondering if you guys can help me with my problem?
i just got the bord build it in my pc and installed the win-7 64bit + all the cd drivers, everything seems to be installed perfectly
but i cant seem to connect to the internet ? the activity leds on the Lanports seems to light up and go out again ?
i realy hope the bord isnt broken pfff.
i tried the new drivers and running with the latest bios.
regards Mikey
Please enable the LAN ports in the BIOS. They seem to be disabled by default :) I had the same problem as you earlier.
The answer is just a few post above...

maximus4 have cold boot issues and fake boot problem????
This MIVE B3 is fun:D
http://img848.imageshack.us/img848/7...enshot010s.jpg
Just got UD7 B3 and haven't play 3Ds with MIVE.
When it comes to ratio between bios oc settings set up to finished benching run, this board so far went 1:1.
UD7 B2 average 2:1 means at least I have to endure multiple resets and C1s or E4s with a particular oc settings from bios to finished a sucessful benching run in windows
I have some issues with TRCD 9 and higher dimm voltage than 1.73.Thing is i can get 6-10-6 almost 2280 stable for 32M with 1.79V but when i set trcd 9,anything over 1.72 (2133 memory)will cause the memory not to initialize. At 1.72 it will post about 3 of 5 times and it's stable only for 4M pi.Have you guys found a solution for this?
hmm afaik dram clockin
to mantain ram scaling on cas to speed we change other timings
when we dont want to change we overvolt to force but again theres a limit on vdimm here.
so overvolting or forcing a ram to run on certain timings has a vdimm limit.
afaik
better ask raja on this. cause afaik theres always a limit and overvolting will decrease stability.
Enybody a tip abbout my problem plz? (see previus screenshot/post)
thnx gys!
Ok i enabled everything to be sure that it all on, but still no internet connection think its gonna be an RMA case :-( pff
You ask for help but you dont read what ppl write
http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/470...ossettings.jpg
Relax dude, it was all on when i took the screenshot ;-) i know its disabled when default! But it doesnt solve my problem when it is dissabled or enabled.
No internet for me :-( on this baby.
greetz
Mems can do 6-9-6 on other mobo and scale with voltage with trcd 9 :) so the problem here is the maximus or the cpu maybe, for example i cannot boot at 2080 with trcd 9 ,same as 2133 will boot sometimes and even complet spi 8M...So i guess if the chips were bad they would not start TRCD 9 no way,but sometimes it boots and run S-pi 8M...Chew reported something similar with gskill 8-9-8 kit so i intend to think it's the board....
alex have you tryed just entering bios after a OC failure and just pressing f10 and saving again? sometimes works for me dont know why though lol
What if i change from P67A-UD7 to Max4Ex ?
How do you guys know where to get the latest BIOS before we ever see it officially? I need 1303 if anyone can link me up.
Nope, my problem remains at anything above 51x multi. 51x and below boots up fine (stability is another story though). All my HDs and even DVD drive are on the Intel P67 SATA ports. Two SATA3 HDs are on the SATA3 6Gb/s ports whereas the DVD drive and other SATA2 HDs are on the SATA2 ports.
Problem fixed gys, it was a mayer noob problem with the cable :-)) lol.
ok now that problem is solved its time for the fun part thats called 2600k its the friend
of Gskill ripjaws ;-) .... Muhahaha!
Greetz ;-)
Glad to see you got is sorted Mike.....yup, sometimes its the simple things.:D Now lets see what that Cpu and board can do!!:up:
So I am working on my clocking right now; 2600k @ 48x100 1.350v is a breeze; 56c prime blend (water).
I can boot at 50x100 but that is about it; tried PLL on and LLC 75%; no difference. As soon as I start prime blend I get an error on one of the threads and a few sec-min later a bsod (101). Is 50+ a reasonable goal if I want this system to last ~2 years?
Also, speedstep y/n/why?
C1E? (is this still a big deal as it was on x58)
Any advice would be appreciated.
EDIT: on bios 1101.
-sfxs
I checked out the batch thread (where many of your posts are). Just reading some of that stuff makes my cpu cringe. 1.58 vcore... sure maybe that would do it - what would the lifetime of the cpu be though? I guess I just don't know how high to push it yet. Capping temps at 60c in LinX @ 4.8 1.35v HT off. HT on and it bsod 101 in < 1 minute. I have the thermal handling capacity but I am not looking to just run a bench - need a 24/7 stable system.
-sfxs
@Sfxs....Try other benchs, prime and all those torture tests should not take the fun out of overclocking. Probly you can easily run 5Ghz+ with other test.
I can prime @ 5Ghz+ but it will probly put too much unecessary load on my single stage cooler and eventually going to kill it for nothing.
Did anyone using bios 1303 ever stuck at post code 00 when start booting systems?
Splave,
I am running a 4x4 kit rated for 7-8-7-24 1600 1.6v at 7-8-7-24 1333 1.5v - I didn't think it would be an issue but I suppose I can up it to 1.6 or drop to 9's for testing the cpu.
Dumo,
I am having plenty of fun, and benches are fine and all, but I am looking for a 100% stable daily use machine too. If the chip degrades in a year and I have to clock it back I can live with that, or if it dies completely in 2 years I could live with that too. What kind of voltage is "safe" for that scenario though? I am quite sure 1.350 it will last forever but meh thats no fun.
Thanks again,
