WARNING!
Stay far far away from the new F6b beta bios! If you run AHCI or RAID you will not get past the gigabyte screen where you would hit DEL to enter bios. It will hang there and sit there forever. I had to clear cmos a couple times and finally came up with a checksum error and it automatically reverted me back to the backup bios F2.
I did not even know there was a f6b out yet but have seen that situation occur once with the f6a a while back.

First try disabling Ht then various cores to see if if helps at all. I needed about 1.55v core at first and bump QPI/Vtt to 1080 auto on the rest.
Was able to boot in @ x53 by lowering bclk from 100 to 99.7
5.3 GHZ wall seems to still be there.
Anyone else having the same issue or do I just need to tweak more of my voltages?

Once I changed to the f6a bios 53 was not really a problem though my board runs only single channel from day one and is being replaced. I got my rma from gig which is cool and have another ud5 coming from another source even faster. I will keep testing on this board until new one arrives. I started at 1.575v cpu and worked backwards down to settle on 1.475v stable. Ram is Gskill 17066 Pi which runs either Auto XMP profile one at 2134mhz or disabled with any speed combi up to 2155 at 101 bclk. Reducing bclk below 100 is sometimes needed depending on chip quality. My 2600K needs 1.5-1.55v for 53-55 range, 56 needs 1.575v.

I have just been reading the UD7 thread & they appear to be able to use it. My board will not post with Level 2.
I cannot use LL 2 for anything with p67UD5.
Also, I am also stuck at booting at the 52x multi :(
I think I have tried just about everything -
I have tried cpuv up to 1.62v.
Cpupll as high as 1.88, as low as 1.68v
mem set low or high makes no diff
qpiv from 1.16 to 1.20v
Tried both megahalems and chilled water.

I have this combination and it doesnt work good at all sadly. Only when nothing is overclocked does it seem to run normally. I overclocked it at 4.7ghz seemingly without a problem, then a few restarts later and it refused to even boot at that setting. Since then no matter what I've done I cant get it to work at that setting again, neither can I overclock it without using Turbo mode cause then it refuses to boot. I tried clearing CMOS, flashing different Bios and tried just about every single setting. Often it copies the backup bios back aswell when it fails to boot, but sometimes it just gets absolutely stuck and the only way to get it to boot again is to clear CMOS.
I cant recommend this card nor any other P67 gigabyte cards from what I read until they sort out their Bios. I feel like a test pilot for an alfa version. This is just unacceptable. I have often had new chipset releases and never before I have seen such unstable motherboards at release. Gigabyte doesnt seem to be only brand that has problem with Sandy Bridge, but I really wanna see em sort out the Bios asap else I'll return this and get another brand.

my G.Skill Hypers (2200 8-8-8-24) cann't work at DDR3 2133 at all,with x46 and above only manage 1867 CR2 :shakes::shakes:

I personally found with my rig & hardware 2133 was not worth running over 1866 as there was little improvement I could run safe 24/7. I found disabling channel & rank interleaving made my UD5 run stable @ 2133 where as enabled with my kit required lots more voltage. Might be worth asking Dinos his view & wont cost anything to disable interleaving.

Same here. I can run 100.8x52 or 99.7x53 but no higher. I've tried all kinds of voltages but still seem to smack a wall @ 5.3Ghz. I've tried room temp water and chilled water to no avail. Temps are not the issue. Maybe this can be fixed through a bios update and I hope its not the chip itself. Then again it could be a setting I'm missing to enable or disable. No doubt a BIOS could be made to make theses chips go faster probably with more risk of blowing degrading the chip but in all honesty I think we are at the top of what the chips can do as its clear the boards can go past x52 my own 2500 did x54 without trying & there is a 2600 here @ x56.
Check this dinos22 video out. Same board and cpu. Forward to 6:01 and you will see where I'm stuck. Funny thing is I'm running a similar clock but can't go any higher. Maybe dinos22 can chime in and give us some insight.

Just some quick observations with UD5 and 3 different 2600K.
Havent had to much time, so observations might be incorrect.
- Flashing from bios F2 to F6a with @Bios works ok, but will revert to F2 quite fast if you have trouble with oc settings/booting.
- Flashing from F2 to F6A with @Bios, you can then use normal bios flashing from Quick flash on boot. It might still revert to F2, but less frekvent.
My three 2600K are quite different:
L040B690: max 45 mp without "internal PLL", max 50 with it. Runs 4.8 on air with quite good temps. Memory oc not tested.
#1 L040B165: max 48 mp without "internal PLL", max 54 with it. Runs 4.9-5.0 on air with good temps on air. Memory is strange, at or below 4.8 I can use up to 1866 np, above that it struggels.
#2 L040B165: max 50 mp without "internal PLL", max 54 with it (hopefully more with better cooling). Can also do 4.9-5.0 on air, but with higher temps than #1 (+8 - +10c). Memory oc is good, 2133 np.
Gone do some more testing regarding memory oc, hopefully I can figure out why #1 doesnt like increasing QPI/PLL voltage or oc memory above 4.8.
SB really turns out to be a hunt for the golden cpu's with high mp, not much skill required yet.
i got two D1 steppers same batch and one does 4.8ghz not a mhz higher and the other 5.2ghz these chips have limits not all will do 5.6ghz lol.
I have seen the same things happen. @bios works good provided you have the newer version as the original shipped one causes the op to error. The reverting back to f2 cause of primary bios corruption may have something to due with Gigs new VRM power system which seems to get moody under high draw, that could be dialed less sensitive through a newer bios. I think the f6b is even more prone to that issue.Quote:

I would certainly think so, in fact I heard someone here talking about just that recently. They where stating to flash both new and backup the same. On other boards I just switched the bios on boot like in the Asus Rampage III Extreme to the other then made any changes including flashing. Very nice feature which I do not see right in front of me on this UD5. they certainly claim to have dual bios support but I currently do not know if the second 32m chip is just a fixed safety backup or hot swap/flashable with the other which it should be. Someone here should be able to chime in on that as its an excellent question.

I've been beating up on it & messing with voltages for about 6 hours now & things are looking good. It's new edge has slipped back from 1.33 ~ 1.35v bios now after trying to get 5.2GHz to run LinX & it may slip further but I'm still very happy with it. No problem getting into windows x52 with internal pll disabled so its still got some more headroom.Quote:

are you using level2 LLC?
Those numbers look great and without PLL is certainly a good indication of extra headroom. Mem numbers are tasty.

Just flashed my 6950 ~ 6970..... it runs but I am getting random pixels at the start of 3DMark! If I increase the power thingy in CCC it gets worse so will leave that allone. Looks like the card wants the powerplay removed from the BIOS as once the bench has been running for a few seconds its perfect & completed the bench. It also furmarks fine.

I am liking that build, very clean there OC. I currently have two monster liquid systems and my Torture rack which is the shad. I am planning yet another and this time I will be using the new rev2 Moa3 from watercool in Germany. Very nice build quality and I could replace the rad in my truck with this, massive is the word.

it's probably just heat mate, make the CPU colder and also try bumping vtt a bit and vmem
other thing you can do to reduce temps a bit maybe is run 2 cores only and no HT
