Edit: Thanks Jor, I will try f6
hey radaja, TweakTown has f6 on the website, do you know if that is the latest or if f6b is? i got f6b from giga site and its a beta.

Got it to boot with 2 sticks by taking out battery but when I loaded optimized defaults it wouldnt boot. Now I am in windows with a single stick, will keep working on it.
Gives a lot more options for memory multipliers.

Nice timings radaja. I gotta try a a kit of SupetTalent.
Im not sure which bios is latest, tweaktown has f6 and they normally have the latest. I installed the UD6 and first boot no issues running dual ch.
Thank you very much Jor for the Tech Station, it sure makes changing hardware out a breeze.:up:

Very nice on a mini-ITX board :D Quick overclock, not highest by any means
Vcore at 1.35000V in BIOS, 1.296V at load (Vdroop is enabled). VTT voltage is at 1.21V, DRAM at 1.64V. Still working on memory timings. I believe that they can be better than 7-8-7-18-59-1T. Ambient temperature is approx. 27C. About 20-30 minutes worth of effort to get here, but as I said not the best it can get :)

You got a good chip dejanh, congrats!
nice chip dejanh, looks like it has an awesome IMC:D
added to the database:up:
Thanks. It is technically my sister's chip since she commisioned me to build her a nice, silent mITX rig for work and her masters program but since I have it here for a couple of days I figured I'd make it sweat a bit before its main purpose becomes word and excel lol :p:
Overall, it does seem like a very good chip, especially considering how "basic" all of the hardware I am using really is ;) I am in love with this little mITX board by Giga. It's a mini-powerhouse. I am thinking to buy one just so I can mess around with it down the line...maybe even sell my i7/X58 based HTPC-overkill and build a little mITX box around this board and chip...who knows...
I'm 7 passes in to 4.51GHz right now, 1.344V at load (1.4V in the BIOS) with Vdroop enabled still. The board craps out around 4.6GHz which is what I tried...the OCP shuts it down but the chip definitely has a lot more in it than 4.6GHz considering that I managed to make a couple of passes at 4.58GHz with about 1.376V at load before the shutdown.
Edit: Also, I have no clearance or mounting issues with the H50 on the GA-H55N-USB3 board, the likes of which were published in the Anand review. Just an FYI for anyone who may be considering a similar combination.
Can pass a couple hours of blend at 4500 1.32vcore on the new chip but then bsod, need to work on tweaking. I think its a good chip but not a great chip, my 660 is better for sure. Still its nice not to be limited by the multi, a new experience for me.
Update, new 4.51GHz run

Vcore at 1.40625V in BIOS, 1.344V at load (Vdroop is enabled). VTT voltage is at 1.23V, DRAM at 1.64V. I do not think I needed a VTT bump but I gave it a very slight bump anyway just to not hassle. A little hotter in here now too, afternoon heat is starting to radiate + no wind. About 28C ambient.

Nice chip, you need to get another chip for your sister and keep that one.
trying higher bclk on the new chip, i could have used more memory but just wanted to see how it did. vcore is as low as i could get it with this multi and bclk.

Very nice chip indeed, Dejanh!
Trying a different memory kit and lowering the timings I was able to run this. A 2x1gb kit of HyperX t1 series rated at 2000c8. Tried these settings last night with my Dominators 4x2gb kit but failed at 45min linx.

hypers? I have the t1 3x1gb kit with hypers but 1 stick died so its perfect for p55
sick timmings man
I think so, Jor suggested buying them, he said they were hypers. It was actually a 3x1gb kit for my x58 at newegg for 124.00. The timings in bios were 6-7-6-18 but on this ko chip cpuz reads wrong. Trying 6 6 6 18 now at 1800mhz.
If I use cpu tweaker to set timings cpuz reads them right, maybe the bios isnt setting them right with this chip, the same thing was happening when clarkdale first came out. Only way it read them right was to use the x40 qpi link.

Regards bclk - P55 and H55/57 need very little juice for huge bclk. This was done with 8gb 1.14v chipset and 1.36vtt. Gigabyte P55-UD5 stock cooling no fan, and a titan fenrir cpu cooler.
http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u.../244stable.jpg
thats pretty intense man, might have to pick one up to replace my ud4p AMD htpc
That is amazing, especially using 8gb of mem.
Unlike quads you don't lose loads of bclk by running high cpu core either. Really like these duals :).
http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u...le4600HTon.jpg
very nice bclk PiLsY.
found out why my ud7 never ran right. looks like 2 pins are fused together, looked at it magnified and looks like a defect not bent pin. In trying to fix it i did major damage and the board is now unusable, so it is in the trash now, had it a month.
http://img40.imageshack.us/img40/2695/ud7pins2.png
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
Haha I guess that could cause some problems! Can you RMA it?
Not now, i damaged a couple other pins messing with it, after that there was no chance of an rma, raked a screwdriver across all the pins and pitched it in the trash.
I would like to thank quality control at gigabyte for this.
 If I had seen something like that I'd never attempt to fix it myself.
I was not in the best of moods, I should have packaged it up but starting fooling with it anyway. after i damaged another pin or 2 i got pissed off and finnished the job.
Lol I guess stuff like that happens. Sucks, the UD7 is a nice board.
sorry nub, you can focus on the ud6 now atleast :)
Yes I am back on the ud6 now. This is a great board, shouldnt have ever bought the ud7.
I guess this stuff happens.
Also a big thanks to foxconn, your reputation for producing fine 1156 cpu sockets is simply amazing.
good news is, i was having major issues with overclocking my i7-870 on this board but clarkdale chips were doing ok, i had thought that my 870 chip was on its way out. turns out the chip is fine.
My updated score was still not updated :( Why :stick:
I bought a chip and I'm still waiting for it to get here. I hope it don't take too much longer. The motherboard and RAM just sitting here...
Hi radaja,
I have some new clocks to update:
the 540 and the 660 are the same chips I used before so keep the batch iDs the same on the 1st post.
the 655k is malaysia L008B540 05/03/2010 pack date
all on H55M-UD2H (by the way this is my favorite board to date for clarks and only cost 100 bux)

@kidius,added:up:
i had the same batch and the vid was 1.13v is yours the same?
that way i can add the vid for your submission
@Radaja
I looked and I didn't see anything pertaining to vid under voltages. Maybe I'm missing something?
its the stock vcore when running at default settings and vcore is on auto.
after you load optimal defaults go back into bios, the page where you set the voltages
and look and see what the MB sets,or after your in windows ET6 will show it as power on vcore
alright, I'll get back into the bios and load up the defaults and let you know!
Ok I loaded the fail-safe defaults and vcore was 1.18. Seems wierd that the same batch would have different voltages.. Could it have something to do with the boards they were on?
sometimes same batches differ.ive seen it personally with two chips ive had.
Good morning all,
I've been playing with Clarkdale 655K under cascade on the little Gigabyte H55N-USB3 mini ITX for the last couple weeks. :D
I think I’ve had reasonable success with the 655K for a sub zero nub – I’ve only had the cascade for about two months. :)
I did do the 655K cold boot mod via silver pencil, much thanks Mr. highcookie.
I'm really impressed with this little mobo - excellent oc for only $100! :yepp:
I've also posted this in the xtreme oc forum.

hi all
i need help please,i've got mIIIf and i test a core i3 540.but impossible to go over bclk 195..this chip seems to be a bomb, actually stable 4.5 at 1.32vcore:

all multiplier don't pass 195,with vtt ,qpi, pch etc ...nothing do !!! this new cpu locked? or i do something wrong..? :D
i have last bios m3f 2001..
if someone can help me to exploit this chip...(ram gskill 17600 pi )
Many thx ! :)
moky
pci express: one gtx 460
i tested lower qpi : no results...grrrrr :(
thx nolonger
oh sorry,105 on pci (i have tested more and many:egal..)
At this point I'd try dropping the multiplier and raising BCLK 'till you crash (while using relaxed memory and timings).
ok i test thx
ok work with few qpi and desynchro ram (17600 rule at 1800mhz...:() perfs are not excellent in this configuration..

Anyone got some experience with the Asus P7H55-M/USB3? How does it compare against the amazing Gigabyte H55M-USB3?
Sorry guys and RADAJA for the long hiatus - I had a lot of stuff going on in my life and work not to mention some traitorous material such as the Ipad and Iphone 4...the last Diablo II Ladder didn't help either...
Well, like in post 111 it was a mediocre batch before I even tested it - L942B539 i3 540.
However, despite needing more vcore than some of these golden chips in this post I did get my Prime 95 stable goal of 4.6ghz - forget LinX - I'm not planning on making bacon or eggs...
Anyways sorry Radaja for the long wait but here is my 2 hr Prime 95 stable 4.6ghz i3 540 just in time before Sandy Bridge arrives =)

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/g...42ghzprime.jpg
welcome back LagunaX very nice OC:up:
updated
just hours from getting a i3 550 CPU for my new p55 system
http://techreport.com/r.x/p55-microa...yte-socket.jpg
i'll post some results if i can get it oc-d by this evening (assuming everything works)
Gigabyte has never let me down
I'll be popping this thing into a UD4 miniATX SLI board so we'll see what a cheap cpu can do with the 12 phases...
i'm figuring on at least 200bclk which automatically means 4.8 big ones on a 550...
http://cdn.cpu-world.com/Images/uplo...L_00003499.jpg
my plans, with this type of board is to stick an i7 in it obviously otherwise a h55 of some sort would have been good enough...but i hear lynnfield is power hungry...:(:(
and frankly a 16x slot coupled with a 4x slot for "imaginary" crossfire (ud2h - ud3 etc) don't quite cut it...obviously then it's just a 16x slot with an extra long 4x express slot which is just a single gpu setup - don't get me wrong the ud2h is obviously a fine board, but they can't advertise crossfire when it's "only in their minds"...
yeah i know i'm joining the p55/1156 game a little late... but better late than never...:up::up:
Finally got it up (so to speak)
seriously though it's up and running
this was the easiest 4.0ghz i ever got
http://img818.imageshack.us/img818/5...rhertzever.png
probably coulda left vcore on auto but i wanted to play it safe...
it certainly feels a whole lot faster than that crap E5400 at 4.0ghz and can handle more operations at once...
i gotta say they've really improved on this Hyper-Threading since the P4 days
it almost scores as well as a real quad at 4.0ghz - maybe 2000 less...
i know it matches my old Thuban X6 at stock which is amazing considering it's 4 physical cores less...
http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/4...uadat40ghz.png
this is absolutely as amazing as i thought it would be...
now the quest for 4.8ghz like i mentioned earlier...maybe even 5.0ghz...:p::p:
oh and a special thank you goes out to rajaja: thank you for the inspiration - this is unbelievable:up::up::up::up::up::up::up:
Got 4.4ghz somewhat stable...
but it takes a butt-load of Vcore....jesus:(:(:(
obviously this 550 isn't even as good as the first one rajaja had and that was a 530...i've tried EVERY setting he used (that was listed anyway)
http://img815.imageshack.us/img815/8...superhertz.png
i'm slightly dissappointed...but i'm sure it's not the boards fault, but probably an extremely high vid cpu - something like 1.26-1.27?????
core temp - won't tell me the vid...
my e5400 (previously) was also dud - could ONLY do 4.0ghz where as my previous E5400 could do 4.4ghz stable for every day use...
but then again i'm just funnin' around here ... my real reason for this board with the overkill 12 phases was for i7 4/8 core in january...
so it appears the board is holding it's water (can do 200bclk safe to say) - and ya gotta love onboard reset switches like on my x48 t2rsb plus...
like i said, if clockin just i3's and keeping the temps from :banana::banana::banana:ing you over is this much of a biyatch on a 550, then 3.8 ghz to just 4.0ghz on an i7 870 later will be fine...(was hoping for more like 4.4-4.5 - but apparently you have to get a GOLDEN ONE...:confused:
well, there you go folks:clap::clap::clap:
hey, at least i still get the same score as my Q9550 at 4.0ghz...:D:D:D
ya gotta love a "cheap-quad"...
figured i'd post just once more with something interesting
this i3 550 at 4.0ghz is slower than my old X6 Thuban @ 3.6ghz by only 2 minutes when it comes to video encoding...
i cannot believe it...
same speed for XviD on pass 1 and 2 minutes slower on pass 2
http://img718.imageshack.us/img718/5...ifulencode.jpg
http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/8...thubanat36.png
this means that the 2 physical and two HT threads/cores are pulling the same weight as a genuine 6 core cpu...their HT must be a little better now than when i remember it from p4 days...
anyways...there you go
no wonder i7 beat the Thuban so easily - even when i took it to 4.0ghz
temps are obviously a little high, but i'll be adding a hyper tx later
looks like i came back to Intel just in time...:clap::clap:
last update...
sadly it appears 4.0ghz even is all i can do if i want the voltages to stay safe
i tried gigabyte's auto settings for merely 4.4ghz and it hiked it up to 1.51 vcore in the bios before i realized it...obviously i didn't leave it there since this has gotta last me a month until i7 - but if this is the quality of batches they sell locally then i may just spring for the 875k off a newegg.ca and a big-ass cooler when it comes time for i7 in January and if they don't sell me a decent one then i'm afraid it's going back
http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/7021/gfgfgfg.png
jesus christ:mad::mad::mad:
i know it's not the board it's when it's about to load windows anything less than 1.42-1.43 vcore and it totally :banana::banana::banana:s me over...
EDIT: sorry, obviously i missed something somewhere along the way
just disregard that last post - i ain't throwin' in the proverbial "towel" just yet
CONGRATULATIONS it appears i got me a CRAP-DALE:(:(:(:(:(:(
Max safe VTT is 1.40v, try going up on it to get higher oc.
Try using the 2:6 memory multiplier, on my evga p55FTW board it would only oc a clarkdale chip well if I used the 6 multi for memory.
CONGRATULATIONS it appears i got me a CRAP-DALE
I've had enough of this
even rajaja's bclk stability test went BOOBS UP...:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(
i'm unloadin this one and swappin for a 540:clap::clap:
ASAP:up::up::up:
it'll only only end up costin me 10.00 bucks at most
so i guess we'll call it a 30.00 dollar lesson:clap::clap::clap::clap:
Ladies and Gentlemen i'm happy to report that it is a
P.O.S.
i'll report back next week when i got a new one:shakes::shakes::shakes:
LOL @ Gameman and I thought I got a mediocre batch :ROTF:
Better luck!
If anyone keen on avoiding this b.s. batch (which i would strongly advise you to do) it is:
FPO Batch# L008B586
Pack Date 5/03/10
Made in Malaysia
May i help save someone else the trouble of ending up with a P.O.S. like this:shakes::shakes::shakes:
Will be trying out a 540 by the end of the week...
i'll get back to you then :confused::confused:
edit: @ rajaja - obviously don't add this to any charts as i can't even get it to do 1 round of Prime an ANY settings whatsoever even at 3.2 ghz...just may be keep an eye on this batch and hopefully we can save someone else the trouble of of ending up with a cpu of this mediocre quality...
EDIT: oNE GOOD Thing... it seems that just by switching to a higher end cpu and 2x speed ram my score jumps from 15000 to 18000 in 3d mark o6
funny part is though the gpu was the same and actually overclocked LESS this time - bizarre...

i'm currently in the process of unloading this thing-i'll be keepin an eye out for that batch...
i know i got a cheap 530 already lined up...lets hope this time i get a DECENT one like you...
dont feel too bad, this is a computer i put together for my dad for the holidays. i personally own an e7500 on a maximus formula x38 with about 500 bucks worth of watercooling and i can't get 500fsb stable or 4 ghz.
i would look closely for a later pack date.
what was your vid btw???:confused::confused:
thanks:up::up::up:
good question, tbh i'm still running all the voltages on auto. i'll hop in the bios and see
1.20625
[B]attery, nice chip and awesome OC with low vcore:up: is it stable at 4600 w/1.20v?
i will add you to the list
stability is so subjective :P
i keep restarting and playing with setting so i haven't had a chance to let prime95 run for more than 30 minutes. expect an update with better ss
yea i hear you,im a big fan of as long as it dont cause me no problems, then im good.
i only run prime95 and linx for SS's and i only run an 1hr 20m of prime and call it good:D
then once in a blue moon i will run 20 linx runs for the 4.5GHz linx club
I couldn't even run prime 95 for 5 minutes on the stock cooler at 3400mhz and temps hit 75-80... then it BLUESCREENED ...:(:(:(
I'd be curious to know how it's doing at 4600mhz...on the stock cooler:eek::eek::eek::confused::confused:
lemme know your secret...
infact lemme know if there's any way at all to oc and run p95 on the stock cooler with out the you know what hittin the fan
cheers and more power to you...
hopefully tomorrow or wednesday i can get me a 530 with some oc potential...
needless to say this has been a somewhat sad experience...
good to hear there's still good ones out there...
when i first fired it up the cord was hitting the fan blades. so i just shut it off and tried to pulled a little slack into it. i also positioned my cooler so the cord was right where it needed to be to be plugged in.
no real secret, just used as5 instead of the intel TIM
what are yer temps at 4600 on stock intel cooler (runnin p95)- can it even be done???
i personally have never been able run p95 on the stock cooler on ANYTHING other than stock and even then...
this b.s. 550 particularly, can't run p95 at nothin but stock... which obviously defeats the purpose:shakes::shakes::shakes::shakes:
yeah, and i even threw in an extra FAN......:eek:
