So when should the rest of the lineup be coming out?
ZZF has the Asus 890GX listed.
http://search.zipzoomfly.com/search.aspx?Key=890gx
Um, the H55 Express is an SATA 3Gbps controller, vs the SB850's 6Gbps, using a 6Gbps SSD. So those SSD scores shouldn't even be listed without mentioning this.
Late April. And no offense, but do you not keep up with the news?
Hmm so really didn't do a review on this board but was testing for certain things like max HT, unlockability, ram clocking etc etc.
Seems those with locked multi chips will do rather well on air/water.
All known good unlockable chips I have unlocked with setting core unlocker in bios, heh no need for the dip switch, an alternative way to setting it manually in bios is pressing a designated button (f4) IIRC.
Base clock went to 370 rather easily on air.
Would like to see the manufacturers get this wall fixed seeing as some of these chips I have are known good to 430+
1800 ram tight on normal room temp (72F) air was a breeze with my set 3 ( worst binned set ) corsair 1866 C7

Biostar TA890 FXE
http://img145.imageshack.us/img145/6...arta890fxe.jpg
SourceQuote:
Trying to keep up with its rivals, Biostar has brought to CeBIT a sample board powered by AMD's upcoming 890FX chipset, the TA890FXE. Still in the works and lacking a cooling solution, the ATX motherboard features support for AM3 processors, four DDR3 memory slots, 6-phase power, four PCI-Express x16 slots for CrossFireX setups and five SATA ports (the orange ones are 6.0 Gbps).
Biostar's TA890FXE laos has Gigabit Ethernet, 7.1 channel audio, a debut LED, FireWire, and power-saving features. Expect to see of this T series board next month.
A bit of stability testing with the ASUS 4A89GTD Pro/USB3. 550 C3 with cores unlocked using the BIOS option and some CAS9 1866 OCZ Reaper memory.

Does anyone have any recommendations as to whether the asus or giga boards are better? Seems like the asus has a little bit better IO performance, but it is still early obviously. Some of that may even out over time.
According to the direct comparison of techreport - I would go with the ASUS board. Lower power need, lower CPU load at data transfers, faster I/O speeds. I don't know what Gigabyte did or if they can fix all these problems with new BIOS revisions...
Still, I wait for more tests - especially including the ASROCK board which also looks quite interesting.

finally first 890FX Giga, maybe this is not top model from Gigabyte...
gb has better design on 790FX I think.
Kind of annoyed how I haven't seen any boards yet with i/o cmos reset buttons. Really how stupid is opening up your entire case just to reset the cmos.
No power button, no problem:D
@Glow9....You're not gonna use cmos pins often, especially for Giga board. It will reset to default all the times when oc'd settings didn't work

That Gigabyte 890FX looks almost the same as the GA-790FXTA-UD5, though I wasn't expecting much anyway. Would like to have seen 10 SATA ports, to me 890 is a disappointment, not much new features have been bought in.

PS: monstrum from Gigabyte coming later! UD5 is not this monstrum ,-)
UD7 is coming ?
from where you have that info ?
:D:D
I hope to see a UD6 or even a UD7 890FX board from Gigabyte please.
That MA890XA-UD3 board looks almost identical to GA-MA790XT-UD4P
Very nice indeed. 8 Sata ports is great since I have 7 drives which, in my M4A79T required a addition RAID card. I'm very interested in this board, I just hope it has nice stable voltages and is around $200.
Please Asus.. puleeeze! Any guesses as to when we will start to see these ROG boards? And what it ROG connect?
If i am not mistaken it is a setup where you can overclock the pc from a cellphone via blue tooth or another pc via usb.
Here is a mini review of the crosshair formula IV over at hardware canucks.

..is True that "ACC" is no longer in the 8** series chipsets? any Huge significance in performance in having or not having it?
http://www.madshrimps.be/vbulletin/f...-bridge-70435/Quote:
One thing AMD neglected to mention in its press presentation about the 8-series chipset was the fact that it removed support for Advanced Clock Calibration (ACC) from AMD’s BIOS. You may remember that ACC was the nifty tool that first let us overclock Phenom processors higher, but later allowed us to unlock disabled cores on Phenom II X2, X3 and Athlon II X3 processors. You heard it right, apparently ACC is gone.
hmmmm i was going to sell my i7 920 + p6t dlx to get a i7 930 + some new mobo ( my 920 sucks eeheh ) ... but now i think i will sell it and go for AMD ... just to change ...
When are the new X6 Phenom's scheduled for launch?
That ROG and the MSI looks great! :)
April 26.
Asus m4a89td dlx ddr3-rd
I like that! Is that 890FX?
Too impatient and bought Asus M4A89GTD PRO/USB3.
Gigabyte GA-890XA-UD3 790X+SB850 Design
Man they really need to hurry up with these! I got a home for an ASUS Crosshair Extreme and have been sitting on the $$$$ to make it happen all kinds of fast! I am almost as excited as I was when the Saints won the Super Bowl this year! (and alot more sober:ROTF:)WOW, I can't wait!!!!!!! Me and my Watercooled "Thumpin Thuban" Monster! :D Hopefully in time for Crysis 2.
Same, I bought my Crosshair3 a week or two before the 890gx boards came out, I returned it and am sitting on a cheapo board now waiting for the Crosshair4 & thuban. That, add another ssd, and possibly another 5870 here in a few months and that'll be good for me
im assuming no new desktop socket is coming and am3 will support 8 core and 12cores aswell in future?
The 8-12 cores goes in a dual-cpu opterons (2*4cores / 2*6cores) socket, bigger physically than the traditional one.
Bulldozer will probably offer native 8 cores at most.
So late April 2010 is a sure thing for MSI 890fx & Asus CH4 launch ? It won't be any more delays ?
I had the money to buy a MSI 790fx & my wife spent it - lucky me, since now i can go for a 890fx board, but is sooo hard to wait. I want them faster, faster .....
Thx for your info & for your welcoming message. :)

A biostar with proper heatsinks  This I must see :D Got a link to the specs?
http://namegt.tistory.com/437
Simple information ...;)
That Biostar board looks kinda lacking in features, though the look is alright, but it bothers me that it only has 5 SATA ports, probably one LAN port from what I'm seeing and a horrible PCI-E layout if you want to do SLI/Crossfire without double spacing.
very nice looking board! How much expensive is it?

Hi guys
Now I start the test

Biostar 890FXE + 555BE unlock 4G
Nice! How many power phases does it have? I like the look of that board too. Biostar is finally getting away from the UV look. I saw that scheme on their H55 too. I kinda hope they make a micro atx 16x/16x version of that too. I got a couple of rigs here that could use those.
how much about 1.55V maximum?:)
I have high hopes for it :) , pics can be found already
Gigabyte GA-890FXA-UD7
http://www.pohrani.com/f/1W/q3/2eZiQzCC/amd.jpg
Cele: this is maybe my next board :-) (this or "only" UD5 890FX, we will see how much expensive)
I saw this photo when the article was released ;)
there will be war between Gigabyte GA-890FXA-UD7, ASUS Crosshair IV Extreme (love it, hope I will buy it) and MSI 890FXA-GD70
So far all the 890FX boards I've seen, the Gigabyte GA-890FXA-UD7 is my favourite, and it seems that Gigabyte finally implemented a better PCI-E layout on the 890FX UD7 compared to the X58 and P55.
I hope Giga 890FX will comes out with good initial bios that have no NB problem with xtreme cooling
I hope too, no problems with BIOS, for year ago i had problem with NB increase multiplier
What are the chances for TRIM raid support on 890fx platform ?
I'm currently running 2 intel ssd in raid 0 and was awaiting intel to support it , but now i'm moving to amd platform ... I'm curious . Is it 0.0000 ?
nice biostar and gigabyte mobos :p:
Biostar TA890FXE looks like the old gigabyte DQ6 790fx lol ?
hope it won't have the same price tag.
a lot of 890fx coming with more then 4 pci-express slots.
A youtube video I found with a general overview of the Crosshair 4, no performance results until NDA lifts.

wow! that's one awesomeness for an under rated mobo company!
i wonder what would happen to the proc @ that voltage on Air :p:
BTW what does the Biostar 890fxe use to unlcok the hidden core in the BIOS?
it also has UCC???
i might get it this mobo also :p:
