So what do we have here:
- Hondacity is running his Core i7 920 on dice plus his GTX 285 SLI setup on water and he is showing some nice AM3 and PIFast scores
- TheGoat Eater is learning how to clock i7 with a W3540 :up:
- Q9650 category is owned by thebluemeanie1 and Jor3llBR/Elano
- Yesterday I also saw jcool improving his WPrime scores
So I have a gigabyte board coming with this chip ( 920 DO )....I was advised I need something that is benchable with high FSB.
Any suggestions on a board that won't break the bank that can bench with high FSB that will not be a pita on ln2?
i just got my gtx295, should put some points before the end of the day

chew, i think you'll have to break the bank for the mobo, the classy is pretty much the only board being able to get you high blck. Otherwise there's a pcie mod on the bloodrage and a GB one(don't remember which one) to help getting higher blck.

hey bud only the classifieds are non hard mod required to run 250mhz bclk... with the 920/w3520 you need high bclk to have fun...if you have the i950/w3540 asus and dfi and msi will be ok with 220-230mhz bclks

do you have the 760 or the 759? nf200s can make a lot of difference in the scores..voltage tweak :) if no nf200 you'll be fine

i have the 760.
i haven't been able to pass both GPU test in 3DMV with stock gpu settings so far,i just rebooted with stock settings everywhere to do a fresh start, let's see if it works. Kinda frustating.

Of course loonym already mentioned it, jcool was able to complete the WPrime 32m benchmark in 4s and 460ms with his 2x Xeon X5570 system running at 3038MHz.
Hondacity has posted a new personal best in 06, reaching 31858 marks.
Last but not least, mk-ultra is still playing with his new toy and he is posting scores in 05, 06, Vantage and AM3.

its really easy to remove..but this has been full proof since day two....

Nail polish works wonder on DI guys.....I wouldn't use it for close relation to cpu socket on ln2 but for DI it's :up: you can bench with a pool on the board.
It cleans up with acetone easy if your worried about the board looking umm "clean"

i'll look more closely to what it can do in 3d/2d benchs before this friday

for 3dm05 bench i think it was 1.70 or 1.74, i started @ 1.74 but the 3dm05 run was one of the last i did and i was "only" running 1.70 vdimm and 1.475 vtt on the later runs

Bahh, sorry guys can't put any 3D results in yet, I'm trying to power the 4870x2 with a 2nd dedicated 1000w psu but no luck, only get the led R753 lit and a long beep with fan at 100% and no post.
try re-inserting it into the pcie slot...i get errors when i do it wrong...
i use a screwdriver as a chisel to break smaller pieces of the blocks, maybe 2x2x2, then i put those smaller blocks into a plastic container to crush them....but what do i know, it will be only the second time i use dice mouhahahaha.

If it's an open basement, no worries. I've never heard of anyone being overcome by carbon dioxide from benching.
Vista + 01 = the suck.

Problem is I need 24.4K and my 4 SSD's are no match for the Acard's this guy is running.
I will need a good controler to use the cache in my favor istead of the ICH10 or some Acard's.
My problem now is on HDD - General Usage and HDD Virus Scan I'm getting 55MB/s and top 2 are above 180MB/s. Virus Scan is another one that there is no competition the numbers are huge

also what is is your stripe size? 128k is optimum for 4ssds

well it started really bad for me too
i broke off my cpu pot hold plate, i'm running like this for the moment, i'll try to do something temporary go on.
I've waiting for my pot to emtpy to not waste dice then to i'll resume later.
so far i tried some max valid, came 1blck short of my previous CPU. Will give it another shot, it's weird i've stopped with 2 different cpu at @ 249 and 248 maybe it's my settings idk.
