So here is a little update that I am putting out on all of the forums.
The lights have still not come in yet. Both Performance-PC's and FrozenCPU have told me that they are waiting for them to come in any day now.
I now have two new aluminum color options. Smoke gray and green anodized.
I have switched over to using acetal disks for the ends of the reservoirs. The sheet of acetal I got is good for about 121 disks, and is being sent out for laser cutting.
I also have switched over to using cast acrylic mounting clips, rather than these black thermoplastic ones from McMaster. The black ones have shown to be way too stiff, and it takes a ton of pressure to get the res to snap in. I am afraid over time, snapping the res in might cause it to crack.
So please bear with me. You will all not be disappointed with final result here. I am really trying to get these to become the highest quality possible.
My ultimate goal is to get to the point where I can make modular reservoirs. Have the acrylic tube threaded. Have one end cap threaded with the light tube, and have the other end cap threaded with the helix attached to it.
Questions, comments, suggestions while we wait for some lights and laser cutting to be done?
I'm happy to wait. Honestly, I wouldn't be that pissed if I only receive this in December [but try not to do that lol]. Could you post pics of these new caps?
Well the time means I have more time to save up some dough to possibly get one. I don't usually spend extra just for bling (and my EK res works just fine) but I'm sore tempted on this....
Frozen, you gotta do what you gotta do.. It's better for you to change it up, and figure what's needed now then to get the countless e-mails or calls saying your product just messed up their 1k system.. I will be one to say that I do believe in your craftsmanship, and I can't wait to falunt your res all lover the forums. I know my project log at TPU is waiting on this masterpiece to be done!

The only possible thing would be to do hollow acrylic tube, wrap it in the helix, and fill it with UV reactive liquid.

I looked into using that but that would only be for the outer tube. That purple isn't UV reactive either, only the red and green is.

Also, I am going to keep using the black clips for now, I will just mod them all to cushion the reservoir. I was quoted $6 a piece for having the plexi ones laser cut. A little much compared to the black thermoplastic clips which are $2.12 a piece.

They were polycarbonate before. These were much easier to work with. And yes...it was soooooo fun. Now I am going to spend the next 12 hours making aluminum end caps.

Update: Well, it was busy three days straight of work, but I am glad to say...I have 150 aluminum rings, 90 + end discs, 30 helix's, and 30 sets of lights. allllll finished.

Hey guys, the new site is up and running. Its just a matter of adding more things. I am going to be making a section for all my customers pictures. Frozen your stuff is amazing. I have a question though, Since I am running Orange Feser One fluid what color helix do you think would look good?
Well, I would say amber would match it, but the helix might become nearly invisible. I would personally go with the blue, I used to have my tubing done with orange kink coils and blue coolant, and I personally loved it.
Your website looks top notch. I know you've probably spent a lot of time on this. Keep up the good work!

Hey guys, I just wanted to let everyone know I am going on vacation tomorrow morning. I am going to spend some time on the laptop on the beach doing some redesign. If I have internet access I will try to post some pictures of it. You will all enjoy it. Powder coated aluminum end caps, cast acrylic reinforcing discs, stronger cathode tubes, o-ring seals instead of glue, etc. I will be back next Sunday.
Looking forward to it. I'll be getting my hands on one later this month.

Yes I can do it in the 150 size. I would go with black end caps and a red helix.

Well i tested two out of three of the new ideas tonight. I used a router to cut an edge on the end discs so they sit down in the tube halfway. This helped to make everything straighter, and in the long run will decrease the chance of leakage as I build and test them. Second, bolting the helix in works quite well. Doesn't leak and doesn't move around either. This should decrease the chances of the helix coming off...as a few have already.
The last thing to do, is to secure the aluminum rings using set screws instead of being slid down over a thin wrap of teflon. The teflon was just a temporary fix till I found something better. The set screws should be here by Wednesday.
I'm going to try and make all of the finished cylinders before thursday, then thursday and friday I will secure all the end caps at once.
I've actually managed to find a good way to use the Delrin, so disregard the thing about delrin being out of the question. All current orders will be filled with delrin discs. = )

how about a helix where the outside is filled with the water for the rez, the inside helix has water (or possibly a thicker liquid) and a small pump to make air bubbles go up the helix. and then would also have LEDs at the top and bottom that can have their brightness adjusted.
id pay about 300$ for all that, but i also dont have that kind of money

DarthBeavis: Yes I saw in the PDXLan photos that the helix was broken. I was worried about that. They should have had 24 hours to dry before I put the caps on. Instead they got a half hour...No worries, your care package will arrive in a bit.

So, I had thought I found a solution to the Delrin, but apparantly, it failed. After some thorough research, Delrin simply cannot be bonded.
With that said, a sheet of black gloss cast acrylic will be here thursday, and I will do my best to get it cut into discs and have the current orders out Saturday, but please bear with me.
Why do you need to bond it? Couldn't you do something with some screws and an o-ring or am I missing something?
Oh, no Frozen, I don't need to change anything for my order from you. I might just throw in a full water set up on my mobo. So, That's what I meant by changes.
There is not enough surface area to do screws and o-rings, I would have to get like 1/32" o-rings, and 1/16" screws.
Yea, wufoo looks pretty neat... never used it myself though. With my business, I made a few "courtesy" notification email cut'n pastes. One for order confirmations, several others for various things and one for shipment notifications. I've found it really makes a difference Keeping customers "in the loop", so to speak... keeps them happy.Quote:

lol...well I am going to try and get my AU orders done this weekend. None are finished, but I have all the parts ready and machined for about 40 res'. My goal for tomorrow while I'm off work is to assemble 22 Liquid Fusions, and 3 Liquid Chaos'. Yes, I am taking a stab at the normal t-virus reservoir again. I think I may have got it. But I am still not ready to be doing those in bulk.
