has someone tested a Xtreme Cooling setting in BIOS and by jumper? Is this the same? I am ready for LN2 session, but i dont know what is better ...
PS. CSC Strap jumper is not working NOW, it is feature for future CPUs ...
I love this board and cpu, W3520/760/Corsair GT cas 8 6Gb, and 2-Sapphire 4870x2 with Swiftech Caldera water blocks with modded bios no volt mods. Most of these where done on the OCZ Cyro Z but I did try the F1 Kingpin pot once I seem to have a coldbug around -68c so not much better scores or clocks than the SS. This is Windows 7 64 bit RC1 no tweaks...

@ raptor1 Well done on the changes to the first post!!
@ Bobbylite Very nice!! Can't wait to get home and throw mine under the SS.
so has anybody done 2100 4.4ghz stable with prime95 say 8 hours or so??
still havent seen anything spectacular on this mobo for high stable clocks with high dram speed..
i did 2 hours..my post is back a few pages..i am not a supporter of 8 hours...to many variables can upset the apple cart even with 8 hours under your belt...i say just do the minimum that you would be using the machine for video games or whatever..if you are talking about folding, you would be crazy to do that at 4.4 ghz...if it was me, it would be a very mild overclock to do folding.
I am tempted to give it a shot with my W3540 after I get my RMAed dom GTs back . The thing is though I am on air, so I am a bit hesitant to run 8 hours prime with that kind of heat it would be generating.
I think that it could be done only with higher binned Elipdas as they seem to require lesser drive strength and most probably only with Xeons as they seem to have better IMCs than the 920 D0s.Just my :2cents:
EDIT: Did you try loosening tRFC?

heh i dont break 70's on linX and this is with 22-24C ambient.
I was about to buy the Classified board today and then saw this in stock and now can't decide!:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131390
I had no problems overclocking on the P6T6 and was able to get my C0 920 to 4.4ghz without too much trouble...I will probably still get the Classified just for high BCLK.
This is maybe a stupid quest but I ask any way! ;)
It does not effect the performance if i put my single GTX295 card to PCIex 2 or 3 instead of PCIex1, Right?
I need that space to cool my chipset on air.
pretty sure you have to use the top slot if you only use one card, atleast thats what I was told by evga when I was having issues with my pci-e slots.
"Did you make sure the card is in the top PCI-E slot because it needs to be"
This is not a place to discuss Asus boards guys. If you want to discuss those boards you need to make your own threads.
Edit: Is anyone aware of any places that would program and ship replacement BIOS chip for the 759 Classified. I just want to have a backup around for those cases when I decide to mess around with the BIOS on my own...
I already talked to EVGA but they said that they do not sell these on per-need basis and will only send one if I have a problem with my board and depending on whether they have any in stock. Otherwise, they take the whole board back for RMA. I just need the chip in case I break the BIOS somehow and want to restore it. I don't know why they did not put two BIOS chips on this board at all...would have saved me having to look around.
I upped my PCIe to 105 and my NICs disappeared  had to reset to defaults to get them back but I haven't done any OCing yet just wanted to test upping PCIe by itself.
That's a really stupid problem, wonder if it's update fixable.
I have mine disabled on wireless via usb :)
This is the realtek gbe lan chip issue, not fixable via BIOS. Lets just hope that the next Classified class board will be using other NICs that won't have an issue with high pci-e frequency setting or they can do an workaround on the board level to use an independent clock gen for the lanes used by the NICs.
This happens, i dont think this is classified specific.
I have had this problem on my asus p6t-deluxe, evga x58 SLI and evga classified.
when first turn the PC and boot into windows there is no network adapter at all. If i reboot without changing a thing they're back and I can work normally.
I'm at pci-e 110 and I've no problems on that 2nd reboot
Where can I buy the 760 in US?
My i7 920 D0 Batch number 3851A262 arrived on friday 29th May , installed in to my board with the intel cpu cooler as my true 120 did not arrive and used my cellshock dual channell 1866mhz 4 x 1GB and went to a lan party with a few mates of mine for the long weekend so i litterly had no time to play with the board before that.
With everything set to defaults in the bios and the board been used for the first time, I must say this board caused no problems all weekend been used as a games server and client at the same time - the only issue was the on board network card crapped out with the default windows 7 drivers, after i installed the vista x64 drivers it did not misbehave anymore. i don't like realtek nics either and am going to purchase an intel nic for future lan parties and just use the realteks for internet and email at home
i can't wait for my true 120 and my corsair dominator gt 2000's to arrive so i can start overclocking
Later

I tried the stock intel cooler on mine briefly I have to say the temps were frightningly high
I know these chips can take a fair bit of heat but still even at defaults I did not feel comfortable running it at those temps.
@ Dejan there is a guy in the uk who can supply bios chips for any board and program them. I will check out the link if I can find it for you.
Edit: here you go Dejan http://s219846715.e-shop.info/shop/p...jR&shop_param=
give Him a try if you cant find someone your side of the water. this guy has supplied me with blackops/re and dfi bios chips before, hes a good guy.
Does anyone have a backup file of the S60M BIOS for the non-NF200 Classified mobo they could let me have?
where is a trick for 220+ BCLK? I tryed everything ... Ci7 920 C0, Ci7 920 D0, Ci7 975 ... PCIe freq. 100-115 MHz ... voltages, CPU/MEM/QPI multis ... but nothing. Everything is rock stable at 216 MHz and bootable is 220 MHz, but nothing above this. I tryed 216MHz to Win + increase by E-lett . but everytime system freezes.
BIOS S21S + 3x 2GB Dominator GT 2000
CPU impedence to less and qpi compensation to less?
I was having the same issue OBR, went away quick on when the chip went under phase though. Havent tryed that high on water, if I get it will post my settings.
Not sure really, I had issues booting with all 3 sticks of RAM and grabbed the Beta BIOS right away wrongly believing EVGA would have stock BIOSes available.
My max LinX stable Bclk at present is only 202, was hoping for a little better so I thought I would flash back to the stock BIOS but.....:(
Thank you for the Backup!
I have a copy of the S60H BIOS as well someone gave me but I never tried it. Interested?
S60V BIOS is here for the 760 Classified: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=3YYVXP2G
Download from there. Use winrar to extract the iso file.
CD/DVD Installation - Recommended installation method
Download the following .iso file: S60V.iso
Use a CD Burning software to burn the .iso image onto a blank CD (Nero, Alochol 120%, MagicISO etc.)
After it has burned, insert CD and restart the machine, go into the BIOS and load defaults, save and exit
Now set the CD Drive as the primary boot device, or press escape while the system is booting to select CD as the bootable device.
After flash remove the CD, and power off PC Completely.
Turn on the PC and load defaults in BIOS
Thanks to rusty725 from the EVGA forums.
You can ask him if you want to: Link to thread, see post #13 He had been using it prior to going to the S60Z and he had issues with the S60Z and got EVGA to send him that S60V BIOS file again.
You can add the S60V BIOS to your front page from this post: http://www.xtremesystems.org/Forums/...&postcount=248
Can you PM me so I can email you the S60H BIOS?
Hey guys quick question Iam using the 1200watt silverston Zeus which i switched to single rail...Since this pwrspply does have the extra 8 pin pwr(which means plugging in both 8pins) should I go ahead and use it..Any drawbacks from using it...thanks..Kind of needing a quick answer on this fixing to boot for the first time in the case and with water...
The S60M bios is the one that come originally with the board, right?
I don't have problems with S60Z but i might downgrade to S60M... since S60Z is a beta BIOs...
There has been no problems whatsoever with me using the beta straight off the bat for me. Even though its beta its works like a charm.
thinking of getting this board
my requirement is that i need a free pcie 8x slot that WOUNT be under my 2 gtx 280's bridge can i run sli in slot 2 and 4 or 2 and 3??
thanks

A few days late but TO should update the OP with a link for the new S21T BIOS for the 759 Classified...
ftp://ftp.evga.com/bios/E759S21T.bin
Can you guys be honest with me; Is it worth for me to upgrade from my P6T Deluxe to this? I am honestly considering it but am not too sure.. I will be doing Quad-SLi, not TRI-Sli.
Thanks!
I havent read many good things about the p6t so yes
is $400 after rebate a good price to pay for it?
Not really, I don't know maybe prices are going up but I payed $385 for mine no rebates. I am using the 760 version without the NF200. You should be able to find this for 400 bucks without any rebates though. The 759 version is discontinued if that is what your looking at. Without getting into any arguments I highly recommend the 760 version over the 759, especially if you are going to Quad SLi :)
Cheers
I looked around, looks like they raised the price since discontinuing the 759 :/ Every place is now 420 bucks or higher. Kind of shady but what can ya do
ouch my 759 was $440
I'll be grabbing it from Frys if NewEgg doesn't have a price reduction tomorrow.
Well I just ordered the 760 again due to my water block falling on my UD5 cpu socket and bending the pins. hopefully this one does not arrive DOA like my previous evga classified. Will report tomorow night. Also ordered a Xeon W3520 from the egg, I'm crossing fingers for it to clock better than my 920 DO.
Well I started to read this thread but I finally just got tired of the is hte 761 or 760 better bickering. I just got my 920 and 760 yesterday. Right now im just trying to learn the bios so I can overclock. It is w/c with the dtek v2. My memory is the dominator gt 1866mhz 6gig. Heres what I got for stock settings.
http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i7...manually-1.png
Ive been messing with this for a while and I cant get my system stable with linpack or occt. Right now its stock, no OC yet.
I got pics of my bios settings, you can see em at this link: http://s69.photobucket.com/albums/i7...owski/I7%20OC/
Well, manual fan settings now resume correctly from S3, that's about the only improvement.
I actually noticed that my OC is not as stable with S21T as it was with S21S or earlier BIOS. I had to re-test the stability and provide a notch or two boost to Vcore. Could be the higher ambient temps though too, not sure. Once I have my incoming WC setup going I think I will be in a better position to say.
If anyone is still looking I have a new sealed coming from an RMA 760 that I will most likely put on EBAY to try and recoupe my losses. I have the reciept, and it was never registered. Really disappointed with EVGA and ZZF over the whole issue but that is another discussion. If anyone wants it for the 385 I paid plus shipping send me a PM and we can work out the details. Didn't post this in the for sale section because I just wanted to offer it up to help anyone out due to the price increase if they were looking. Will go straight to EBAY if noone needs it.
Cheers
Got my classified today, I noticed that this board is a revision "B3"
preliminary results not much tweaking, using bios version s60v. I noticed that this board overvolts.
http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/2...hton2139vj.jpg
should we upgrade to the latest bio on the 760 ?
nice find! not that it matters at all though ;) Good to know they are using the newest tech atleast
3oh6 just posted an article on the "MCH strap" option in the classified bios, including it's effects on sub-timings and performance. Check it out here: http://www.techreaction.net/2009/06/...p-performance/
I have the same revision, but use a different slot config. Maybe you have it in the wrong hole? lol Or you Everest version needs to be updated? lol What does Gpuz say the Pcie bus speed is?
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1.../Capture-2.jpg
Try switching the second VGA one slot lower. With non NF200 classifieds the lane split is x16 by x16 on the first and third x16 slots, while the second or fourth have to share their lanes with the slot directly above them when occupied, making each respective pair x8/x8. Maybe the IOH still views it like that inspite of slot number two being wired for x16 aswell.
You got a 759 with B3 IOH. I thought they were EOLed a while ago?
Thanks but now I get this:eek: How can I get the second card to be at full 16x ?
