Well, lots of people still have lots of PCI cards (TV-cards, sound cards etc) so I don't think it would be wise to eliminate PCI just yet. Besides, there still aren't that many PCIe x1 cards for that matter.
+1 I'm still using an old pci tv tuner, I know a new one will be cheap and offer better quality but this one still works fine for me. Keep pci slots for another generation please :)Quote:

Depends on if I can afford a good RAID5 controller or not ;) Most mobos support on-board RAID10 without a problem. Also depends on if I need to access said RAID array with more than one OS on the same computer (although that's down to the controller more than the actual RAID choice).
