Small update. Board #1 had some issues (FSB related). Not sure what but it wouldnt boot into XP over ~500 FSB. Received 2nd board today and with same hardware & settings it boots for the 1st time at 6x600 right away :)
As other UD3P boards it needs high VTT for FSB. Set 1.54vtt & 1.40vcore in bios for fast tests on crappy air HSF. LLC disabled. Not spi 1M bios yet :D

LN2 for 1M and max mhz validated as soon as possible :yepp:
"Lower!", the mob cries. "Let's go Loc.o, let's go! For blood, for Gigabyte, for glory!"

Dewar wil be refilled soon :yepp:
Hey you need to drop atleast a couple of seconds aight
Make the dutchies proud, set a wr ( and give me a x58 board at the same time.. win win )
i think around... 7.130 :D
Crap beating 12s at 4ghz.. thats some efficiency my friend.
heres similar to what he can expec at mid 5's ghz....
now mind you this is not necessarily perfectly tuned

Thanks mate. Bios is very fast in 1M but 12 sec at 4ghz should be rather easy. I think average (untweaked) efficiency for simular setups is about 46500 / 4000mhz = 11.625 for 1M.
Started insulating the board today:

Looking good so far! Good luck with the LN2 run.
I suck at these kind of things but my guess is: 6.837. Just a slight improvement of your current WR:D
I get around 11.6 secs or just below 11.6 secs at 500x8 and DDR2-1000 4-4-4-8 TRFC 25 and PL7 or DDR2-1200 5-5-4-10 TRFC 25 PL8 on my P35-DS4. With Abit IP35 Pro board I had ~11.4 or just below that at same RAM configs I specified above but the board was a lot more unstable for me too.
So to me the BIOS looks quite fast, nothing groundbreaking, so it seems like the default Gigabyte bioses for this board has to be really uber slow (not like Gigabyte has ever produced some really fast bioses anyways) then if you think this bios is very fast. But that's just my opinion of course. Plz break 7 secs for us at least. :D
Since I'm still slightly interested in these UD3 boards, does hicookie's bios only work for the UD3 model or for all UD3, P and R models?

It's only Gigabyte :D
6.987 ; just my guess

Benched the Gigabyte EP45-UD3P :) Did my best to make it as fast as possible and best would have been new fastest 1M but unfortunately that's not the result.
I am not sure if its just my board (perhaps other's that have used LN2 on it can step in) but when temp gets a little lower then -100 degrees the system shuts down. The cpu likes cold very much though and needs it to shine. FSB is good but due to temp hard with multi 10. This resulted in a rather slow 1M for this E8600 unfortunately. Setup:
GIGABYTE EP45-UD3P bios F4-4
E8600 Q822A435
Ballistix 8500
8400GS
PCP&C 1200
