Revisions of the last batch of mBIOSes are in the works. I re-visited some old avenues and found some noticable differences. I won't bother with seperate zip files or anything all BIOS files will be in one archive, just extract the one for your board.

P5Q R2 mBIOSes
What's the diff. ?
Memory table replacement.
diff between your first release and this final version for deluxe? cheers
Those for all the P5Q mobo's?
What difference could it make?
Yeha Ket i would be wondering also what is the difference specifically with Revision 2 of your Bioes?
New bios for ASUS P5Q Deluxe BIOS build 1402 and ASUS P5Q BIOS build 1307:

For details on memory tables go back in this thread. In a nutshell memory tables directly effect memory compatibility, memory overclocking, and the like.
So you have just further modified the memory tables more than you did in the previous release?
Also I bumped my CPU GTL voltage on the second core to 0.8 and its at 1.24-1.32V at load at 4.22Ghz, been going for 5 hours Prime Blend, am I ok to exit now or should I keep it going to 8 hours?
Memory passed bootup Memtest 86 CD for 8 hours +
No problem - ASUS P5Q Deluxe BIOS build 1402:

ok link now is good
I hope this new mem. table help me in my problem
my problem is very simble
when I want to overclok my Q6600 to 3.4 GHZ I use this setting
cpu multi. =9
fsb freq. =380
dram freq.=716 with my ram Kingston 2x1 GB Dual Channel (DDR2 800)
Inote that there is asmall hint in the left side of the bios page say
dram freq. lower than 800 MHZ may cause system boot faliuer due to spec. violation
this hint here even if what the setting of FSB STRAB TO NORTH BRIDGE
how come I cant get ram lower than 800
but when I but the dram bus =901 the system boot well

Ket, you have a PM about boot block modification.
Thanks for attention.
As I said earlier in the thread, I'm only doing P5Q series BIOS mods atm, I don't have time to mod all sorts of BIOS code, at least, not without a manufacturer paying me to do so.
As nobody else has said anything I'll add my input on the V2 P5Q Pro mBIOS of mine. I'd say to date its probably the best. Currently running 3.55GHz on my E4400 which is an all-new high for it (previous being 3.4GHz). I'm perhaps pushing the chip a tad hard with 1.5v, but its actual is about 1.49v idle and around 1.47v load with LLC disabled, so its alright. Max FSB is still 425MHz and not 100% stable, but for an E4400 425 FSB is mad high. I'm one of the lucky ones that got an L2 stepping
A quick 3DMark06 run gave a score of 13.5k for a single HD3870 512MB @ 850\2GHz. Enabling CF returned a score of 15.5k which pretty much confirmed what I suspected with my CF setup. Even @ 3.55GHz the cards are bottlenecked. CF score with the CPU @ 3.4GHz returned 14.2k.. so yea, still cant fully lift that bottleneck :brick: For that reason I'm going to have to grab an E8400 or something and clock the snot out of it.
Brave lil 4400, still trying to hold its own :)
i think we need to wait for you to get a Wolfdale :yepp:
I do want to get a wolfie badly.... but current funds wont allow it :( plus I kinda have my eye on a girl - they always take money :p:
can i get a P5Q3 modded bios?
So is 1402 official or a beta .. yeah i know i am being lazy by not looking it up....... LOL
So please help me out... :)
Great ket... We wait your 1402 modded bios :D
Why wait when it is a Modded Bios from PMP .. :)
This?
http://rapidshare.com/files/14363567...-1402.ZIP.html
It's modded?
Thank you
PMP original post:
There is also a ASUS P5Q BIOS build 1307
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...postcount=3557
Uugh after some holidays and other foreign trips, getting back to update you from my magic box. I bet those were not shown yet:
and what else he states
At least:
- modified behaviour of vNB voltage downgrade while using Epu6 utility
- fixed the bug that you were unable to install OS when Yorkfield C1 with FSB1600 was used
- fixed EzFlash2
- revised DMI table in order to support new windows 7 requirements
- +minor updates as well
OK. I'll wait until Ket confirms a new one for the E. There's nothing on the Asus FTP, nor the official forums about a new BIOS.
There won't be any news as it a BETA from PMP, he must have found it somewhere and tweaked it.
1402 doesn't work for me either,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,grrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...................... ...
When will I be able to upgrade....
Does any one in here live near me? I live in Ohio.
Yeah i do about 20 hours away.... :)
:( I wish some one here was close to me. I would drive to meet them and bring my damn chip to see if it does this in another setup or not if not then I would have to beleive these hard drives are actually the culprit.
What is the issue again?
Is it Raid setup or something?
Test the HD's performance using HDtach 3.0.4.0 http://www.simplisoftware.com/Public...request=HdTach
Those driver should be getting at least around 57-63 MB read and if raid 0 on 2 of them = around 114-123 MB read ..... as for access time 14ms-16ms
Let us know as if they are not performinh right then SELL em off, get some 640GB seagates 32mb cache 2 x of those are a killer in READ i have now ordered my second one and soon will raid 0 them ... :)
It cant be your WD drives..... I'm starting to seriously doubt these supposed fixes asus are doing in new BIOSes. Seems like for me rolling back to my 1004m after making a couple updates would be a good idea.. LLC used to work for me, my compy used to shut down like it should with LLC on and everything seemed stable.. maybe I'm missing something with 1306 but for some things it seems like a real crap shoot for me.
lmao :D some may also go gay quicker :p: not me tho, I love all the pretty girls I know :)
I love all the pretty girls you know too. Send them over to my house. :)
Notta chance their mine :p:
I don't think it's the drives either, but it acts like it is.

If I go above 0803 I can't get into Vista as if my CPU stops talking to my hard drives.. I will continue to see the loading bar for vista or it will go to a solid blue screen not a BSD. If I try to reload vista when it gets to the hard drive detection screen whether in raid or single drives it locks up.. on newer then 0803 that is.
I have had oddness like that since BIOS 1104, albiet it wasnt too bad in 1104, 1306 things are horrible. my system seemingly locks up for absolutely no bloody reason. I bet if Asus had stuck with AWARD issues wouldn't be half as bad... any board I ever happen to own that uses an AMI BIOS is a right pigging nightmare.
Right I mean that is good looking right? It seems good to me. They aren't exactly the same drives firmware wise of course but, they perform pretty darn well I think right? Ahh the level 3 dude at Asus thinks it is something with the BIOS and it is not my CPU but, I think I can stick my Q6600 right in here and I can run without issues if I remember correctly hell I tried so many different combos with my fiance's hardware memory exc.. that I can't remember lol.
Edit: I could always post a video of what it does. I'm not doing it tonight though. If you guys want and think it might help you see it better I will tomorrow though after work. Hell I will even post a video of me testing it with my old Q6600 on the new one to see if I am right about it booting with it with out issues.
A vid may help, worth posting one up  as a side note your not trying to run in AHCI mode are you? Windows will BSOD and crash if the driver isnt installed first. Lets hope Asus work like nuts and break into the 16xx BIOS revs for the P5Q series soon. I estimated to myself originally it would take about that for a solid BIOS, an I'll stick with it for now.
Just flashed 1306m for my P5Q-E. Should I be noticing anything different in my boot screen? The version number and revision date are same as stock 1306, and all my settings were left intact too... I wonder if I flashed the vanilla 1306 again by mistake?
Well, we knew it would only be a matter of time, I now have 1307 and 1402 beta BIOSes and will be making my own changes and uploading them when done.
@ wongnog; you wont "see" any changes, with the exception of the boot logo all other changes are internal.
* Hard drives stop working right before Vista login screen after revision 0803. That's it,
I will post the videos today actually because I get off work half day today so, I will be going home around 11:30am my time it is 9:42am right now here. I have noticed that on some occasions I will actually get into Vista but then it locks up at some point whenever it feels like it. I was wondering if it had to do something with my VFSB but, I set it to 1.22 last night with that 1402 or 06 whatever it is and same thing right before Login screen loads, boom it stops talking with the hard drives. I will make the video(s) me using each BIOS after 0803. I can actually see it stop hitting the hard drives VIA my HD Light. Thank you and not a PITA trust me. You are more helpful then their support "Asus".
That is really weird, but I know exactly what your talking about my system has started doing things very similar, especially noticable in the 1306 BIOS, I'll probably give my modded 1307 a shot, and if that sucks as well I'll make the changes to 1004 and go with that.
Here are the new mBIOS builds. Once PMP gets back to me with the changes made by Asus the readme files will be updated to include than info as well.
P5Q mBIOS 1307
P5Q Pro mBIOS 1307
P5Q-E mBIOS 1402
P5Q Dlx mBIOS 1402
P5Q Premium mBIOS 1401
So ket these new Modded versions for example: 1402 for PQ5 Dlx is all that you have done is added the premium memory tables?
Also from what Martin has posted is that the 1306 (official i think he is using) he can OC higher by about 60FSB then on the 1402 bios and i am curious as to why that would be from bios to bios?
Not just a memory table replacement, also a custom P6 table, a pretty boot logo :p: and if anyone has more success on an older BIOS I will change the SMBIOS so people have Windows 7 compatibility. (or its something like that anyway, cant remember exactly what asus have changed in the SMBIOS in new versions)
Alright, I'll start looking at 803 and see if I can see the changes asus made.
I have changed the boot logo not removed it. Your the second person to say its gone entirely, not sure how thats come about
You should see a boot logo like this;
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...ragonp5q-e.jpg
Ket: That's strange, I am 100% certain I never saw a logo such as that! I have the P5Q-E on M1306 btw. I actually don't mind, I hate seeing a logo instead of my all import BIOS post info
I never saw a different logo either. m1306. When I flashed to these, I got no boot logo on startup, it just displayed the POST messages. That's OK because I disable the logo anyway.
Maybe the asus mylogo thing just doesn't like working with other BIOS files on a diff board? I'm lazy with the boot logos so just do it with the asus mylogo app.
You might be right. It's all good mate, no worries.
the boot logo works fine here.
i think some ppl arent clearing their cmos after flash. at the very least they should be resetting "system defaults" from bios.
I did both.
Thats very odd then how the logo works with some and not on others systems
Ket or any one where is a good place to move these videos to youtube is taking forever,, just to load one video.. I finally got them cut down to 11videos to make them smaller , that took all day just to figure out..
Yah I think it depends on what you are doing/ going to exc. After 1103 the boot block doesn't change so I don't even waste my time after that one. I have before so I know it isn't going to solve my issue.
How much is 1 notch?
EDIT: Flashed to m1402
I guess it's possible if it's using less voltage.
Ket
This program seems to be what i was looking for as well for movies..... Kate's Video Converter 4.0.15 ... awesome and that is the latest version too.
OK, thanks. I noticed certain improvements (small ones) in the 1402's. When I loaded up Easy Flash I could browse through my HDD's now, also when the BIOS is finalising a flash there's a green progress bar. I saw this because I flashed to 1306 and back to 1402 again. :)
I sent you the info via pm Ket. If any one else wants to see my issue in action just ask and I will pm you as well.
P5Q with 1307 mbios
very stable version
I love the new logo design
the modded version solve the original beta version mobo logo prob.
so thanks ket
Hope he is ok he hasn't messeged me back or anything yet.
LLC disabled is horrible for me. I set it to 1.39 and it dropped to 1.35 under full load.
No need to worry highroller ;) just been completing some lil upgrades to my system and ordering some new memory with micron d9s :D
Hes laughing at how bad his vdroop is. After all, some bad things you can only laugh at to stop yaself from crying :p:
You should really ramp up your vdimm as well to say 2.1v and see how far those ballistix will go ;)
Just pmed tell me if that linky works.
Edit: I just tried it myself and it works that way nicely.
I'm not sure. Having had too many kits of Ballistix die in the past (4 or 5 kits in the last 4 years) I'm slightly cautious about that. They are doing as well as they can without putting them on the next setting which is something like 1154. At this current speed (1040) they're probably close to being maxed out. By the way, these are the "crappy" single sided Ballistix that everyone hates. Infamous nasty batch, too 97432. For me they've been great, though. Never taken them past 1.90v for longer than a short time, and that was just to rule out lack of RAM voltage when stabilizing a CPU overclock on Prime Blend.
I'm just trying to work out a deal with a guy on here for some older Ballistix 8500, just waiting to hear back from him. If I get those I'll shoot for the 1154.
OK, I thought you were picking on me. ;) "My vdroop's worse than yours! I win!"
Just messing with you anyway. I though my vdroop was bad but yours is terrible, I agree.
Dang that sucks :( my RAM issues should forever go away in a few days, I ordered some CellShock PC8000 that has Micron D9s :D
