Actually 2-3 liquid metal pipes *should* be enough to transfer the heat, thus DT would be possible with LM pipes. Price? +$100? No thanks.
Though, to be honest, I am quite sceptical with the DT heatpipes anyway. The piece of copper between the IHS and the pipes is far from being any kind of a bottleneck. But yeah, 0,5-1 C improvement under special circumstances for small effort is always welcome unless it bumps the price too much.
