Let me tell you something; I really start to like those CL 8 runs of yours :up: Seems like in low clock challenge, it's unbeatable ... (am I right ? :confused:)
this is the same kit from the 15K Everest thread and as mentioned there a few times, are D9GTR. i likely won't be doing a OC Report of this kit as it really isn't available anymore with these ICs. if i have time, or more importantly the 790i has time, i will put one together. but it is unlikely as that motherboard is a busy bee with newer kits coming in every week it seems.Quote:

@3oh6 Very nice 8m run there! About my 10m run, I know the time kinda sux, but no matter what I tried I couldnt get any lower. I tried alot of different maxmem and Copy waza sizes, tried spi folder in different partitions and on different Hdds but nothing helped:( Havent tried Eram though.
Anyways, my cascade has very recently been rebuilt by Tim, and yesterday i fired it up just to try it out. I did a quick test at 538*9,5 on a TOTALLY unoptimezed XP SP3 installation just to test stability, (I was even installing other programs meanwhile heh) and the time was 9m 22s so I will give the 8m time slot a chance instead:)

Oh, I'm sorry Jody I completely forgot about that magnificent G.Skill D9GTR kit and the 15K everest achievement :) So just like you said, no need to review that kit ... I actually think that only some of 'em were equipped with GTRs ... I mean, there wasn't a specific period of time that G.Skill brought this kit to the users equipped with GTRs (specific batch), but only some of the kits ;) (for example I know 3 guys with a JNLs, but hipro has a GTR kit ...)Quote:

hey Harshal, thanks for posting but your a bit off in the goal. we are not trying to get the best time at a said frequency, we are trying to get a said time with the lowest frequency possible. the goal for your above time zone should be 12m 59.xxxs at as low a clock as possible.

After some long and hard work trying to find out why my 32M times were so bad i found out i had to set execute disable bit to disabled and plug and play os to no.
I don't know which of those 2 helped me but now i finally am back in the race.

When i tried to beat your sub 11 minutes my runs were always faster in the first 4 loops but i couldn't keep up after that. :shrug:
Did 11 min 01.203 sec. at 3997MHz but couldn't get below 11 minutes.
Your 9 minutes 31 sec isn't that good though, i did the same time at 4799MHz.

As I am new to Spi32m and Windows tweaking, I will leave to your appreciation what I do to achieve that score, but hey, honnestly I doubt it will help you as there are some things I don't know my self about waza copy. Still learning (Did I got the luck of the beginner ? 'don't know because I can repeat this score many times but, ok...)
Here you go:
About what's not on my screenshots, in this right order I did:
1/ triple defrag,
2/ screen resolution: doesn't matter i did 10mn56s641 with 800/600 and did 10mn56s296 with 1280/960
3/ Start menu->msconfig->BOOT.ini: maxmem=600 - nail services: fire everything but 3 of them: gestionnaire de disques logiques / systèmes d'évènements de COM+ (english translation to these 2 points =?) / themes
then nail general: leave only the charging of system services alone, uncheck the rest quit msconfig and restart computer.
4/ reboot @ 550 ( @ 449: no go it reboots when I accept 571,9 in Setfsb and booting @ 572 was worst ),
5/ setfsb->571,9,
6/ RAM tweaking with memset,
7/ opening spi_mod and reducing it at minimum window size,
8/ opening OCX SpiTweakerv1.0.6-> 3472 MB @ 1st line/ 35 sleep.
9/ task manager-> killing explorer, real time priority for spi_mod, task manager closure.
10/ starting copy waza it self
11/ 35sec. later I start my 32m super pi with ~32Mo allocated memory and cross my fingers. :)
This is also done on a very windows installation.
I hope I can improve again this score by learnig more about the process of copy wasa as the log I used does it on its own.

Yes Z: drive is part of eram.
Eram has nothing to do with copy waza, it's just a ramdisk you create, the explaination is in 30h6' video.
Basically you have to download eram, unzip it, open the NT folder, rightclick the icon you see there en press install.
Then you have to reboot, go to control panel, you see an eram icon there, you have to set parameters like in that video, set maxmem and reboot.
You will find it created a Z: drive, extract your superpi folder to the Z; drive and do your copy waza to the Z:drive.
I have to say eram didn't gain me anything.

yeah, i am back on the heat pipe attachment while i figure out a way to get the MCW30 mounted directly to the
X48 IHS...i don't see 600 tRD8 happening until i am back on water. the most impressive fact is that they are doing this
on 5:8 which is even that much more stress on the NB. i am sure if they lower clocks for a 9m 59.xxx time, they
would have my 3574MHz beat at those settings.
I've had my MCW30 mounted to every X48 board I've had and the rampage is no exception. What's the issue??

used, i just run two drives. for the above 32M time, i am simply using a slow ass Samsung 7200.9 80GB drive

still isn't where i want it on this OS. working with 2K3 on this one...

Have to do some work to improve NB cooling and will try again with lower tRD, Performance Level 8 at 600FSB is just awesome, i want some of that myself! :D
Had a blast this afternoon, i wanted to try PL 8 at 600fsb with 1.73Vnb (bios) but windows didn't load, i really need to upgrade NB cooling and give it some more volts.
Then i went on to give 1T a go, i read somewhere 1T hardly made any difference.
I can't remember who posted it was but i know he's wrong! :D

I'm trying to get a decent score on SPI 32M...but I have a lot of problems :P
Setup:
-E8600 (534x7.5 MHz=4 GHz)
-ASUS P5E64 WS Evolution
-Corsair Dominator 1800C7 ~1700 6-6-6-18
-HD Maxtor 160 Gb
-Gigabyte 7600Gt
I just installed a clean XP+Sp2 and ran the first SPI32M no tweaked.
-11'38.6xx
After MAXMEM=600 and 512-1024 + many combinations with OCX SPI Tweaker I have about 556xxxx mem and 566xxx cache...but the score is EVERYTIME about 11'32.6 and 11'32.6
Can it be a problem of the HD drive? (very slow????) I'm testing by about 1 week :S

HDD is not very likely to cause bad scores.
Disable execute disable bit and set plug and play OS to : no, disable everything you don't need in bios.
Also, set LargeSystemCache to 1 in register.
Try to run the highest FSB possible and even more on memory speed.
High FSB with high memoryspeed is the key really.
