Folks,
After following this thread, I decided to put together a system with a P5K-deluxe Asus mobo and a E6850 cpu. Thanks for the good info.
I booted up last night for the first time and my problem is that Cpu-Z (see attached) reports the CPU running at 2 GHz. It shows the multiplier as 6, which I believe should be 9.
I am setting the FSB freq. manually in the BIOS as well as the multiplier to 9. Also the BIOS system info for the processor shows correct information, FSB 1333, 3GHz, min ratio 6, max ratio 9.
I tried the latest BIOS (official 0404 and beta 0501) from ASUS and it makes no difference.
The RAM I am running is G.SKILL DDR2 800. (4x1GB). Vista 64bit.
Any idea what could be wrong? Maybe there is BIOS setting that is doing this?
Thanks
That would be because you have EIST enabled, load the cpu and you'll see it go up to 3Ghz.
Just got mine today :) waiting on rest of the rig :)
finally got to order mine 292can$
