anyone else getting stuttering in 05 firefly test? costs me a bunch of frames right as it starts it is 145 then stumbles drops to abot 40 and back up to 100 plus. i wind up with 1000 frames in first 10 sec. but occasionally i get 1350 in first 10 seconds with no stutter but it isn't repeatable?
also in cpu test trolls lair frames drop to single digit when trolls are on screen but i get awesome framerate when they arent.
so i think there is some major improvements coming in future drivers.
yes... in Firefly 05-06, and GT3 for 3D05... a big stutter folowed by a big lost of fps... strangely at this point of the bench, the fps should be same.
I have the same problem. I have a fealing it decreases with higher PCI-E clocks, but it is so random that it is hard to know. Also LOD set to 15 seems to help against these slow downs.
I have the same stuttering. Default and increased PCI-E levels. So far it doesn't seem to be hampering scores significantly.

Is that the max the cards can run or is there some headroom left? The CPU is a great clocker for a QX6700. Even a Q6850 could not be that much better.

Clocks via bios. Voltage by the vmods shamino explained in his R600 review. Still waiting for new catalysts to fix the CF oc problem. If there were a way to disable the 2d to 3d switching like with R580 it would be posible to use the latest atitool for overclocking cf.Quote:

We have tested with higher gpu clock now and it scales a lot in canyon flight! 30MHz more core with less mem clock gives 3.5 fps, wich is ~175 points in just that game test. It also adds about 1.5fps in game test 2 wich is ~90 points. With working oc software the cards would do 1150MHz core easy in CF, jsut as with a singel card configuration. 1.48V and 1080MHz runs so easy around -55C pot temp. Damn why cant overclocking ATI be as easy as NVIDIA :)
I think we all will have some exciting time with X38, 2900XT CF and a good QX6850.

06 screwed up, not enough nitrogen left. Those extra points for #1 would be within reach with higher gpu clock (1100 at only -50*C, but mem craps out in 06) and even easier with higher cpu.

It seems like 03 is more or less completely GPU memory bound. I was hoping to do around 85k myself with just 1k core...but those hopes were shattered as soon as I got to it, probably because my memory was just at 980 similar to you guys...if only we could get the memory up these cards could become a serious threat in 03 as well.Quote:

The P5W64 is dead just like my last one. And with two other P5W DH, seems that some components within the power regulating area is giving in when running quad core at 1.8V+ or X6800 @ 2V :(

The blitz actually has tighter performence then P5W64 WS Pro. Something I didnet think would happen until X38.
