sub 20min on 32m is defenetly not possible... i tried 32m only once... i think the time could be a few seconds better...

Erm... that Pifast has ***error in computation*** so unfortunately it's not valid.

For that 32M run, sub 21 minutes ought to be a walk in the park at that speed, i get 22 min 10 sec at only 3220MHz, time to break out some tweaks.

Sure, even more than 1m22.

I would like to give you some examples, but my I can't acces my results hdd for now. I had about more than 2m gain with 150MHz. less ;).

TBH i think you (Massman) either had a very bad XP or a very good setup 2K3.
Let me do some calculation:

I scored 22 min 10 sec at 3230MHz (see sig), for every added 10MHz i took of about 3~4 seconds.
You have 400MHz more which means 40x3=120 seconds= 2 full minutes.
22 min 10 - 2 min = 20 min 10 sec. :fact:

Since i took 3 second for 10 MHz one should expect to shave of even a bit more.

With a very well tweaked OS sub 20 minutes should be doable.

I used some OPB tricks (nothing special, just keeping your system clean). My XP setup wasn't that great (24/7), but it was quite clean.

Just make sure your server03 installation is very clean ;)

Putting Idle Cycle Limit to 16 on your RAM will most likely allow you to run the RAM a few MHz higher. ;)

The OP's right - No way, no how, not a chance that you'd be able to run a sub-20min 32m @ ~3600mhz ;) . I think you guys may be forgetting that Spi doesn't scale linearly with cpu clocks. For comparison's sake, here's a 32m run similar to Gianni's run....

IMO, this 32m was as close to perfection as ANY 32m I'd had ever run (and that includes my 19.xx minute runs using my Opty) and even then I couldn't break the 20 minute barrier....

@ Gianni: WONDERFUL cpu you've got there :clap: These types of cpu's only existed in my dreams back when I was benching :toast:

Now there's one good SD 3700+.

That could be the reason why I'm wrong about the sub20. My first run was 30min with 2.85GHz. Later that day I got 27m30s with 2.7Ghz, just by installing win2k3.

Wouldn't it be possible to go sub20 (as you got pretty close) with 2*512MB and a little higher cpu clock?

Sub 20 will be very hard, it looks like gianni can´t do that :(
But he need some more good ram to get near the 20 min...

yapp my 2x512mb ram suxx @ 32M.... but i doesn't find no more good ddr1-ram in switzerland :(

This listing contains the top 32m times reported from an individual user (to the best of my knowledge, it's about as complete as you'd find anywhere). Scroll down to ~#30 as that's where the AMD times begin....DAMN CORE TECHNOLOGY :D ! As you'll see, there's only about 12 people that have EVER run sub20 minutes using an AMD rig. In addition to that, you should discount any runs done without SPi v1.4mod or above since those other versions tend to run faster. Now you're basically left with 10 sub20 results. Out of those 10, only ONE was done @ <3700mhz (an incredible run by MickeyMouse). So in short: NO :p: If you think about it, it's actually quite amazing just how much more resources a sub20 minute 32m run requires.......

Steven, looking at it like that you might be right.

No doubt he could improve on that time though, 20 min 25 seconds is definately on the cards at that speed.

Absolutely right, BUT ... all the 32M runs that went sub20 were fx-57, except your insane 154, so there isn't any entry that ran above 300HTT. Now if you look a bit further, you'll find Bachus' run with a 3590 opteron 146:

Gianni, I almost have my hands on a KAB1E 0614DPAW, do you think it will be similar? I only have air, but if the temps get a little better over here (meaning lower :briggin:) then I could move her up into the attic and have some 0C ambient temp runs.

Yep, the cold bug prevented any of us to run 32m anywhere near 300HTT. If I had access to multis above x14 on my Opty, I would have easily been able to run 32m @ 3800+ Mhz. :(

Re: Bachus' run.....although his subtimings APPEAR to be loose, he more than makes up for them by running TRTW1 ;)

Sheesh, these cores sure have gone a long way since I first debuted them. At the time, this was as high as I had gone on the 3700+ :p: ....(now the 4000+, on the other hand, was another story...3500Mhz+ I think)

my wr-sandiego was in a office-maschine in germany... after 6months, the guy try to overclock this chip and reached with the first try 3338mhz@1.488V prime-stable... $$$ now it's mine 4ever :D

thats the 3700+ with san diego core - the one above is with toledo core. :)

The official name for the Toledo is San Diego E6...but all people know that there was build in the Toledo core of an X2.

3513.25 MHz

Vcore was 1,904 volts ( 1,425x136% ) @ DFI SLI-DR.
This E6 has already an cold bug but he&#180;s higher than the normal E4.
Cold bug is @ 284 MHz FSB and -26&#176; degree and 304 MHz @ -8&#176; degree.
Best temps for validation and benching are around 10 to 15&#176; degree...in this zone i get my world record....
i started the single stage to cooling down then take it off....the temps felt and at zero degree i started to take the fsb higher with clockgen. i have only 25 seconds for validation because in this time the temp was nearly 18&#176; degree and the pc gets down :D

Toledo at 1.9v? wtf? I smell toasted processor for lunch :D
