Yes, it can be.

For the board i presume? I don't think, Gigabyte will release a special Bios for this hand full of users with the 7900GX2, thats the problem..

I've just tried this driver with 2 Galaxy 7300GTs. Unfortunately 3dmark05 crached. Not during any test, but between them. Once even windows GUI failed to render.

What PCI-E frequency do you have ? If it is equal 100Mhz try to lift it up to 110 - 115... if it will not help, PM me.

I think that it's hardware a problem.
For example, such problem is absent on P5WD2 on 955, there it is possible to make 4X or 2X in BIOS.

Yes it's hardware problem. I change mobo to MSI PowerUp on 975X and SLI work normaly : 8/8 ;)

Yes, all will work without problems. Once I tried 7800 on 955, but there is no difference...

I did edit the Inf file and try these drivers with my 7950gx2's on the 975 chipset, but it failed. It will be interesting to see if the 7950GT is ok.

I do not know it... also it does not depend from me.
I can only tell, that once, I had to write such profile and put it in the driver, after that all successfully worked.

When I open up a Maple 10 and begin to do computations, as I am working on it some of the text begins to "vanish" randomly. It is still there, I can highlight it and see it, but then other pieces of text will disappear as well. If I cut and paste the text from the editor window over to notepad, everything is there. The math computes just fine, but it is very difficult to work when numbers and information a few lines up keep vanishing from view. Even some text in the menu bars and pull down menus vanish in and out of view. I also seem to be getting the same issue with BlueJ, which I installed a few weeks after Maple.

I asked MapleSoft and they think it might have something to do with Java and my video drivers... anyone have any idea?

i had this problem with my CPU not being completely stable. It would pass prime95 and all that, but i would lose blocks of text. I ended up giving the CPU more voltage and the problem never happened again. it was weird

(this didnt just happen once, it happened all the time until i raised vcore)

Thanks all. I haven't done any 3D benching yet, but I seem to have both cards working at the same time and SLI enabled. Required me to do a manual install of the drivers instead of using the setup utility, and I also have to use the bottom card, but whatever, if it works it works. Thanks so much!

OK i installed the drivers (85.96 hacked) for the card then rebooted added second card attached brdge turned on installed the driver for second card, rebooted, enabled sli bridge rebooted.....ran 3dmark06 and three games and Im getting great scores but there is these red bands that come accross the screen and turn the screen almost entirely red....the cards are not artifacting...I increased and decreased clocks to no avail...I tested the cards separately and they both work fine.....I ran drivercleaner and installed the cards fresh three times, and still I get the red banded stuff....only when I run in SLI mode....any thoughts....I even switched back to an old lcd I had and still red crap everywhere...

Any word on getting a hacked forceware 91.33 or something which supports quad sli for conroe + dual 7950gx2 goodness? just curious.. anyone know where to get the uli patch? seems most traces of it have been removed.. I wonder why?? lol. anyways..

I have been trying to setup my two msi 7600GT with Asus flexible SLI Bridge on my Intel 975bx board. No matter how i tried, i can only see one card. I cannot turn on the sli function in the advance properties setup. I took out and use the driver clean to clear off the drivers and then put in the card one by one and still the same. Can anyone here who has the intel 975bx board advice me on the setup procedure of ur sli setup. Btw, i run my e6300 at default mode. No overclocking.

i was really close to doing SLI with 2 7960gt's. But after reading this thread im gonna do CF instead. x1900xt 256 or a x1900xtx, for only $70 the xtx seems like a better deal

If you see in system only one card, your problem not in the driver.
You can install any other driver and be convinced of it.
I repeat once again, it is not necessary SLi-bridge for SLi work, SLi will work without it but only more slowly.

There is no difference how to install cards.
I always install both cards simultaneously.
To install cards one by one - more time will demand. :)

so basically I dont need the flex bridge at all, would a regular bridge work.......I mean I really would want maximum speed as I traded my GX2 for these 7900gtxs and really the only improvement im seeing is 500 pts in 3dmark06.(both overclocked)....any possible fix for this....

did you fix that red screen thingy? im also having a bit off trouble running sli on p5w dh .im getting lower score when running sli .its like fps are running only around 119 when i enable sli .

Without bridge your score will be alot lower. Run 3DMark without bridge. If the red screen is gone then chances are you have the same problem I did. After the red lines left when not using the bridge I put it back on an pressed it while 3DMark was running. The lines went away then the pc froze. I determined that the slack of the bridge needed to be pushed inwards, towards motherboard. It may sound sily but it worked, I'm now @ 10490 3DMarks.:D

well I figured out the entire problem of my setup...the asus flex bridge was crap!
I went out a bought another asus sli motherboard that had the non flexible asus bridge and voila 11,080 in 3dmark06!

Good read Sam thanks. I ordered two additional Asus Flex Bridges after my discovery. I prefer the increase in FPS and I use a kinda large monitor:)

My score is about on cue. I don't think a non flex bidge will yeild any improvements. I'm running 2 7900GT's, you're running 2 7900GTX's, which is probably why your score is much higher than mine. If I'm wrong I'll find out when I move everything over to the abit aw9 Max since it came with its own bridge.:)

Has anyone managed to get SLI working on the Asrock 939sli32 board with the 85.96 modded drivers? I tried with 2 x 7600gs but no joy so far. Whenever a game is launched, it crashes.

What chipsets concrete? :)
Intel has many chipsets capable to support SLi. It is 915, 945, 955, 965, 975 and their modifications...
Already now in drivers there is an official support for four intel chipsets. :D

Hey Big Sam, I suddenly realised that this might be the more appropriate thread to post my 'missing RAM problem' cos I am using your modded 85.96 SLI driver on my Asus mobo. Had posted for help around but no one seems to be able to pin down the problem so here goes again...

Just tried out SLI (2 x el cheapo 7300GTs) for the 1st time on my P5W the past week and noticed certain strange quirks about RAM being reported differently by the mobo, Windows and CPU-Z.



Installed is 2 x 1 GB sticks = 2048MB - everything reported OK without SLI. With SLI, the mobo POST reports as 1920MB (OK, kind of expected), Windows as 1.6GB (WTH, @%%!) while CPU-Z maintained at 2048MB.



Is something being configured wrongly? Looked around but can't seem to find a good answer, TIA.

SLI stands for Scalable Link Interface. The entire point of it is to link together two gpus and have them work together efficiently. The 7950 GX2 uses a single slot, but still uses SLI because it's linking two gpus together.

So yes, you can do SLI with only one card, but you need to have two gpus on that one card. SLI is also patented by nVidia, so if you linked together two ATI cards, you'll have what's called a "CrossFire" setup, not SLI.

hi Big Sam, after more troubleshooting, I am convinced that the problem does not seem to lie with the 85.96 drivers cos I booted into another XP partition which had my previous video card installed viz. a X800GT and it came up with new card install prompt, I canceled it and Win XP still reads 1.62GB ie. 85.96 not installed, missing RAM problem exists.

A really strange problem, Shamino also tried to troubleshoot with me over here but no answers yet,

In short, problem exists only if I put in 2 x 7300GT AND 2 x 1GB RAM sticks. The other combinations that I have tried (2 cards/1 stick, 1 card/2 sticks...), the RAM is reported correctly.

No they dont use turbi cache for sure.
I have similar problems with a Asus A8n Deluxe. It has 3*512MB of ram and once I start setting the fsb to anything other than auto, Windows reports 1024MB of ram, CPU-Z still says 1500, but I think it checks every ram slot for ram and adds it, so only 1024mb might be usable. Havent found a fix for this yet.
Try running stock settings to see if the problem still exists.

Did try everything at stock, still missing RAM. In fact, I just swapped one of the 7300GT cards (the one which tends to run 5C hotter) with the vendor and came back to install the replacement - no improvement.

Looks like no way out but to try a completely clean OS install on a spare HD to see if it helps. I fear that even that might not help cos the OS seems OK - with 1 x 1GB with 2 cards or full RAM detection with 1 video card.

Where did you hear this? Would be nice, but I doubt it. I get a few major issues using the modded 85.96's... Currently using the 84s

I cant tell my source, but I´m hoping for that move from Nvidia :)
Story tells that they are going to enable it in few weeks for intel 945, 955X, 963Q/G, 965P/Q/G, 975X chipsets.

It would be simply fine, but I believe in it with the big doubt. :D

There is a SLi support for two 945 chipsets in drivers already now.

It does somewhat make sense at least. The Nforce 590 mobo with C19 chipset should hit retail sometime before october. The people who wanted official SLI support will go for that, then once demand dies down nvidia may release the official drivers.

It about time nVidia decided to step over that 'legal line'.

Iam new here, and also kind of a Noob :)

Now i got a intel core2duo (e6600) Asus p5w dh deluxe with 2x 7900 GS for SLI. I also downloaded the 85.96 moded drivers and installed them. At the moment i dont have a SLI bridge (is on the way ordered it).

Now when iam running in SLI with the mod drivers and i run a game al i see is a black screen. But iam hearing the sound of the its just that i dont see it. Ok i figured it out the it the Nvidia profiles you need to make a profile if that game isnt listed. (o yeah the game is Fifa 07 but it also happens with NFS MW) any way in the profile i set it to SLI and Mutli GPU. Wat i then get is Half a screen where i can see the game but when i advance in the game that screen get smaller and smaller eventually i see that the upper half is black and the under half has all kinds of collors. Now iam need to know why cant i play games in SLI ? i tried every driver what was here in these forum. also the older ones but same result. I dont think my problem will be fixed with ONLY a SLI bridge. it must be something else

I will typ my pc Spec so that you guys know what i have:

Intel Core 2 Duo (E6600) 2,40ghz
1024 DDRII at 6400
Asus P5w DH Deluxe
My PSU is a Coolermaster 550W SLI Ready so that should be the problem also.
2x asus 7900 GS both the same cards. (Also tried to run both cards on the same speed with Coolbits)

Please guys i realy hope you can help me i dont know what to do now?

Ok Guys forget about this :) fixed it. It seems it doesnt work properly with out a Sli bridge. Got the Flex sli bridge from asus. And it works now actually.

Now can i just play games or is there some stuff i need to do with the Game profiles ? like i said in the beginning iam a bit of a Noob with SLI....
