few month ago the first fx at 4 gh was a milestone.... here we are before the real launch of the product : 1ghz more with two cores and a 30% faster chip
it never happen in ocing world: we are in the future!
great job tam
Its been a half year+ as far as I remember, but yes amazing :)Quote:

a day we all are going to remember is when the 10ghz limit brakes!
its so close to 9.xxx S now! :)
Wow!
Only 0,140" for broke the 10" barrier!
Incredible!:toast:
nice done bro... nice done !! perfect !!
I want to see single digits :banana::banana::banana:
C'mon TAM, you can have your vacation once you reach 9.xx sek. Where is my 9 seconds.. c'mon. Once you reach it, we can call it a day and we all happy and go home.
I'll be satisfied if mine will do 12s on H2O :toast:
Be sure you monitor the temps on water. GL.Quote:

CPUz only 5MHZ higher as Pi1m - if it was max CPUz then the 1m is really almost maxed out...amazing work but seems harder and harder this 9s wall.
Hey, simply amazing score! Not only for the 5GHz+ but the mem. too! I have a tweak for you to make: Idle Cycle Limit. Drop this down to around 8. You will see a massive difference in SuperPi. ;)
I REALLY want to see 9.xxx , however amazing job so far coolaler !
It is astonishing: D
lol, umm, im on water. I just mean before im risking chip damage.Quote:

I like the ATI RageXL.. I bet this rig would give highest RageXL 3DMark2001 ever!Quote:

10.14s in SuperPI 1M June 2006.
I would have never imagined.
Just a few years ago, folks with their shiny new P4 and i865 were gladto break 50s. If back then you announced <20s SuperPi with <3Ghz INTEL processor, you'd be dismissed as a raving lunatic (nevermind 10s and 5Ghz on 14 pipeline architecture). Conroe performance is absolutely revolutionary.. true next generation performance.. like comparing a 486 to a Pentium.
I think Intel's decision to abandon Pentium brand name and start new series is well deserved as they open new chapter an d put that netburst Prescott mess behind them.
EDIT: TAM, omedeto gozaimasu!
Kimi ga Chou Kakkoi Da
wow amazing
Yeah, it's nearly done. :fact:
Just 2 tens of a sec. and we have 9.xx :slobber: :woot:
I keep checking back on this thread atleast 1-2 times a day to see if the 9.xx has been broken, it has to be happening any day now, sooo very close.
so far the record is 10.14s with 5013Mhz right?
10.14/9.99 ~ 1.0150
1.015x5013 = 5088Mhz
right now at 417.8 fsb, and would need 424 fsb.
although its *only* 1.5% more, he's already at a totally crazy speed of over 5Ghz!
Inccidentally, does larger L2 cache help in SuperPi? Current Conroe has 4 MB which is half of the ~ 8 MB of memory allocated for 1M run. What do you suppose would happen if he had a Conroe with 8 MB L2?
burn him :yepp:Quote:

Nice work there. Don't think it will take to long until the someone goes under 10. Everybody will be waiting :toast:
QuickPi will go under 1. That's right, under 1 second with this configuration.Quote:

come on sub-10  I've still been checking back on this thread everyday, I keep thinking it's going to happen any day now, I really hope they're putting some serious effort into going for it. Which I don't see how they couldn't be, anyone that close to making history isn't gonna stop until it's done...or so I hope :D
Sub 9s is gonna own...
I cant begin to even guesstimate how that speed would feel, 29.2 for me was my best and I loved it..
I really miss my computers something sick, but If after all this im able to afford a nice conroe or merom setup ill be a happy camper,( I never camp :P)
One interesting observation. In another thread, Tarosa gets all SuperPI WR beat except 1M with E6700.
However:
1M 4666Mhz
2M 4601Mhz
4M 4581Mhz
8M 4434Mhz
16M 4470Mhz
32M 4403Mhz
well its obvious that the more intensive 32M would result in lower overclock, but what do you suppose would be 3D benchable, 4200Mhz? And if that is the case, how could anyone possibly claim 4000Mhz on air.. unless they meant screenshot only.
Its one thing to have a 5Ghz suicide SuperPi toy, but personally for me, it would be better to have a 24/7 water cooled 4Ghz Conroe that I know will handle anything I throw at it.
(*ducks overclockers throwing bricks at comments*)
Interesting point, and I think the answer is there's a place for both..and for the guy who wants it at 3200-3500 on air..All have there usefullness and all are different..That's what makes this such a great forum..All are welcome no matter what the "flavor" they enjoy.:DQuote:

Smokin' fast that cpu...really awesome...we're all waiting for the 9.xx ;)
yeah so about this...is there something currently stopping TAM from continuing attempts at the sub-10? Because I'm sure that if all his hardware was still up and running he would have done it by now, right? :eh:
perhaps the wr 100m already has been reached ;)Quote:
