coolaler ... that's just insane. amazing clocks. what are your real voltages at 4.0-4.5 ghz (cpu-z reads out crap)?

can you do a sisoft sandra memory benchmark with FSB @ 1700-1800 mhz please? with an ~14 GB/s FSB bandwith that should give some serious memory scores.

and all the other sisoft benchmarks would be great, too (cpu, multimedia). and what about a cpu score in 3d06 with highest speed possible?

ZipZoomFly lists this board out of stock Hefty Price tag of $273 to boot. Seeing how good Bad Axe, Asus and this board does with the Conroe, ill be surprised if DFI could really do anything special here. Im getting this board.

it's exactly like the AW8D... FCG claims that it supports Conroe while Abit PR itselfs says it won't... asked him via PM where he got that from, but no answer :( not very friendly :(

No not yet. The 955X's wall was around 350-375 and it appears that the wall for the i975X is around 425-450 without modding.

My guess is that it will take a pelted northbridge to get to 5ghz.

I know I'm considered a nutcase and I hardly did any overclocking at all and with air only too...

Since the MSI is out of stock, I'm assuming ZZF will get the newest revision.

Asus will have a conroe board, when we see it is another question.

I'm getting this board. I think most of the enthusiast boards will hit 450. I don't think the new DFI is going to go any higher than this one.

i guess the big question for all of us is, which ghz wall our respective cpu-cooling will run into, then we can make a good decision on which cpu to buy so we don't run into the mobo fsb limitation.

e.g. i'm wondering if i need the 2666 or 2400 conroe model. if my high end watercooling can't get the conroe cooled above ... let's say 3915 (435*9) - (391*10); it would be stupid to buy the higher priced 2666.

so the questions i would like to see answered before launch date is, will the current 965 - 975 mobo fsb wall remain at 435ish; what kind of GHz might one assume on water. those questions answered will help me decide which chip to buy.

i think it was fcg that already stated that watercooling doesn't do much for the conroe, i still hope someone proves him wrong :p

it will also be interesting to see what kind of NB cooling you need to get 435fsb stable.

Well, Intel is... Colder = better

Conroe is = little heat..

High conductivity vs low conductivity = more important the WARMER the hardware is..

That means, phasechange will benefit ALOT over AIR/WATER..

I ordered from Ewiz. It supports conroe, the part number matches the one of the MSI 975X V2 (V2.1) Power Up edition. I am not sure if this is true though, will post results next week. Can't wait :)

If it is anything like the MSI 975 boards which coolaler had, this thing is gonna be a monster OCer, probably even better than the P5W-DH and the BadAxe.

Yeah right, more heat, slower clock for clock. Sure high FSB on this board is awesome but more doesn't always translate into performance. My DS3 went back to Newegg. Everything about was slower than my MSI. But hey I'm happy and so are you.:toast:

Granted MSI is having some issues but I have no problems comparing my board at 400x9 with anyone at same clocks.

That's the same one I ordered, but from the egg.. I didn't see a "powerup" edition available anywhere, but it shows v2.1.. the comments report great OCing ability and stability.. etc... typical newegg banter.. about 10% of it is worth reading, if that.. anyways, I get mine next week and will report experiences when I get it running.

Well Igot my baord last friday from newegg, it didnt say power up edition but thats what came, I think power up edition just denotes its core 2 duo compat but then again I usually dont know what im talking about :am:
Anyways Im able to get a stable 2.97 oc on air with out messing with the v at all so its good stuff. And as for them not working or having troubles lets just say I had more problems getting the psu in my thermaltake armor case then getting this board running lol. my only complaint is I had to manually set my ram and the MSI pc alert is for Shat:, voltages and temps reported are WAY off as in 182c for cpu temps and .1v on the 12v :slap: as soon as u get ur rig up just download core temp. board is used with a e6600.
