coolaler ... that's just insane. amazing clocks. what are your real voltages at 4.0-4.5 ghz (cpu-z reads out crap)?
can you do a sisoft sandra memory benchmark with FSB @ 1700-1800 mhz please? with an ~14 GB/s FSB bandwith that should give some serious memory scores.
and all the other sisoft benchmarks would be great, too (cpu, multimedia). and what about a cpu score in 3d06 with highest speed possible?
thanks!
i want to buy a ES ;)
MSI Boards will be avaiable in Germany soon.
ZipZoomFly lists this board out of stock Hefty Price tag of $273 to boot. Seeing how good Bad Axe, Asus and this board does with the Conroe, ill be surprised if DFI could really do anything special here. Im getting this board.
sure:DQuote:

conroe goes like netburst, that's amazing :D
Awsome clocks, with scores to match. I literally gasped when I saw the news article. Will be interesting to see what scores come out of a 3DMark'01 run.
This is not a step forward but a true milestone. IT shows the potential of this architecture. I cannot see a response from my favorite company (AMD). To see 10's in 2006.
So ... cool ...
Holy :banana::banana::banana:, i think i just peed in my pants. nice job coolaler :D go taiwan XD. I'll be visiting taiwan again next summer.
how do i buy this stuff?
now?
Are we sure it's the correct revision?Quote:

there are still different opinions. don't know who stated that the P5WD2-E will support Conroe with Revision 1.03G.Quote:

it's exactly like the AW8D... FCG claims that it supports Conroe while Abit PR itselfs says it won't... asked him via PM where he got that from, but no answer :( not very friendly :(
crazy nice!
wow
Amazing work and thanks for sharing with all of us!!!
CONROE ALL THE WAY!!!! looks like intel finally made something worth buying

Has anyone else noticed that all Asus Deluxe and Premium LGA775 boards have microcode update for Conroe chips (CPUID 6F1 and 6F4) in their latest BIOS?
Are people doing any special cooling on the chipset to hit a 460mhz bus? Forgive the n00b question.
Good question. My boards certainly don't come close to that!Quote:

No not yet. The 955X's wall was around 350-375 and it appears that the wall for the i975X is around 425-450 without modding.Quote:

WD on all those records though mate!!
cheers

And no offense Coolarer but doesn't someone have to be a "nutcase" to get involved in overclocking to start with? lol. I know I'm considered a nutcase and I hardly did any overclocking at all and with air only too...
Anyway. I emailed the author of the article and complained...
Since the MSI is out of stock, I'm assuming ZZF will get the newest revision.
Asus will have a conroe board, when we see it is another question.
I'm getting this board. I think most of the enthusiast boards will hit 450. I don't think the new DFI is going to go any higher than this one.
these boards need to hit circulation already. i need to build pre-conroe rig like now with full OC support.
pics dont work for me :(
hey guys this question probably has been answered but ill ask it again (im a noob) where do you guys get these processors and mobos from (the msi)
Its quite simple, you dont..Quote:

Super stuff man, Intel looks like it's getting back. 2007 is going to be one hell of a year for CPUs.
This is incredible stuff, thanks for sharing coolaler!!!

I don't understand why people can't keep an open mind. How on earth do you know how any board will perform without any evidence?:slapass:Quote:

Is this the board albeit the one coolaler has is 2.b??
Wow, Congrats coolaler! that is awesome! Can't wait till us normal people can get these! mwhahaha I still don't think I'll ever do suicide runs like you lol! I'll stick with air and or water! anyways lets see some more 3dmark scores! and a 10s PI time!
thats some real NAT thinking out of the box, i enjoyed reading the posts on this subject and its unbelieveble how you got so much out of the conroe. keep setting trend!! Vi
4.5 is sick!!!! cant wait to get one!!!
Guys..i just downloaded Pi and ran it on my machine. Check it out
How are my timings?
http://www.punjabisher.net/pi.JPG
Do you think i should upgrade to conroe or stick with my current system?
Welcome to XS mate and i think yep an upgrade is well worth it
just alone for the pci-express graphics alone it would be worth an upgrade
Yeah, I guess you guys are right. My current system is about 5 years old, so the complete upgrade is long overdue.
Thank you

i guess the big question for all of us is, which ghz wall our respective cpu-cooling will run into, then we can make a good decision on which cpu to buy so we don't run into the mobo fsb limitation.
e.g. i'm wondering if i need the 2666 or 2400 conroe model. if my high end watercooling can't get the conroe cooled above ... let's say 3915 (435*9) - (391*10); it would be stupid to buy the higher priced 2666.
so the questions i would like to see answered before launch date is, will the current 965 - 975 mobo fsb wall remain at 435ish; what kind of GHz might one assume on water. those questions answered will help me decide which chip to buy.
i think it was fcg that already stated that watercooling doesn't do much for the conroe, i still hope someone proves him wrong :p
it will also be interesting to see what kind of NB cooling you need to get 435fsb stable.
Well, Intel is... Colder = better
Conroe is = little heat..
High conductivity vs low conductivity = more important the WARMER the hardware is..
That means, phasechange will benefit ALOT over AIR/WATER..
so even max voltage for the conroe doesn't heat it up enough for air - water to make a difference?
i bit but not many mhz
dam, how do u guys get such clear pics with ctrl prinscreen lol
o, and well done coolaler
nice job man! only hope I can get a proc that good. *Hint FreeCableGuy ;)*
Simply awesome. I bet that this must caused an general alert at AMD, as I don't think their chip could kick off Conroe from the top :(
So the performance is now with Intel again
Damn, it is sick to see 11sec 1M SuperPi times when I can't get bellow 30 myself :slap:
Anyway, congratulations Fuger for first Conroe tests and great results with it!
First man bellow 13sec, congratulations!
And congratulations for coolaler for 11.266 1M SuperPi WR! :D
You are getting owned soon, I think with later steppings, but you was first man bellow 12sec and no one can take that from you - ever ;)
Now who will be the first man bellow 11sec? And bellow 10sec? I settle for 9.999, but get it bellow 10 sec...! :p:
Sub 11 already happened right here my friend:
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=101190
TAM has gotten 10.130 seconds with his 5GHz+ Conroe. Sub 10 is very soon.
Eh, well, these freaking amazing records are changing and moving now so fast, that one hardly could manage to keep track of them, damn :p:
Anyway, great thread, thanks :D
dam, i want this board !!!!!!!!!!!!
I want this board.
I want a better board
Is it right that you don't can change the CPU Voltage with an Conroe on the MSI
Rev 2A ????
And on the rev 2B ist is possible....
or I'am wrong ??
Can anybudy help me ??
How do I se the difference between Rev 2a and 2b?
I just got the motherboard, and I can't get it up and running.
Really? :confused:Quote:

Can you guys point out a northbridge cooler that would fit this mobo?
I was looking at at P5W DH till now, but i now see this MSI is available for about $35 CND less.
I eagerly await the results of those who just ordered this. :D
If it is anything like the MSI 975 boards which coolaler had, this thing is gonna be a monster OCer, probably even better than the P5W-DH and the BadAxe.Quote:

BUMP
Does anyone know where to get a working bios for the 2.b.... My 4:5 divider quit working. :(
ok, I too am jumping on this bandwagon... just ordered the board from the egg.. $174.99 on sale right now..
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813130051
that's the one, right? says version 2... I assume that's it. hope so. lol. I have 2gb of G.Skill pc2-6400 4-4-4-12 for it.. hope to get my 6600 to something in the 3300+ ballpark. :)
edit: I am going to try this nb cooler on it.. should be interesting.
http://www.crazypc.com/products/51044.html
Just think.... for another $50.00 you could have a real board (P5B/P5W) that actually works. :) :) Sorry, sometimes the truth hurts.... Regards- :D

Yeah right, more heat, slower clock for clock. Sure high FSB on this board is awesome but more doesn't always translate into performance. My DS3 went back to Newegg. Everything about was slower than my MSI. But hey I'm happy and so are you.:toast:Quote:

Well Igot my baord last friday from newegg, it didnt say power up edition but thats what came, I think power up edition just denotes its core 2 duo compat but then again I usually dont know what im talking about :am:
Anyways Im able to get a stable 2.97 oc on air with out messing with the v at all so its good stuff. And as for them not working or having troubles lets just say I had more problems getting the psu in my thermaltake armor case then getting this board running lol. my only complaint is I had to manually set my ram and the MSI pc alert is for Shat:, voltages and temps reported are WAY off as in 182c for cpu temps and .1v on the 12v :slap: as soon as u get ur rig up just download core temp. board is used with a e6600.
