Well, I took 2 sticks out and got a decent OC at 430fsb. Looks like the 4x 2gb RAM is not going to allow me to push this chip much further than 3.6.
Anyone have experience with fsb > 400 and 8gb of RAM on this board?

Hi After a long time i think is time to do some changes to my Maximus Formula Se.
I been running it since day 1 with a QX6700 @ 3.6Ghz 24/7
Iam thinking is i put the Rampage Formula 0601 Bios i might be able to get it a bit higher. My intention is 24/7 settings anything above 3.6Ghz
Any suggestions? Do you think will go higher?
So is 0601 really any better than 0308 for a non EO chip? What about a QX6850?
Here are my settings w/ my 8G GSKILL DDR2 1000. Dont have the time to oc as in the past, but it's a decent oc, 100% stable. This is an E8400 E0 rev.

dude your PLL is insane. so is your NB voltage.. chill out man
I cant update the bios with 0601 and the rest of the rampage bios.
It says not able to open the file. The maximus bios are working fine,
but i really want that rampage bios. Can somebody help me :D
finally flashed it, the 1st and 2nd time it was saying unable to open file.
After the 3rd time try it flashed. Im 100% i didnt misstype anything the 1 and 2 time,
maybe broken usb stick.
I'm just getting used to this chip and figuring out what it like on this board, but overall I need less volts through the board than my e6700 needed. Like you though, I think I need my NB under water to give it enough volts to run much over 450 with my 8gb o RAM. I've gotten it to boot at 475fsb w/ 1.72 NBv, but it dumped shortly after.
Update: seems my NB temps and voltage are going to be a pain with this chip. Even at 420fsb i had a hard time adequately cooling the NB below 60c with the volts needed (1.68v) to keep the system solid. Looks like I'm tweaking the system at 400fsb until I can cool the NB down.
Hello everyone again:) So, i finally changed my mobo, ( because as you remember my maximus couldn't do more than 430 FSB with my Q9550
I got P5Q Deluxe and now i can boot 470x8.5:)
So far, this hasn't worked out too well for me. The best I can get it a boot into windows but the system blue screens after 30 seconds if it doesn't freeze before that.Code:Extreme Tweaker

The best stable config I've gotten so far is 400fsb, Performance level auto (13) and NB/SB voltages much less than that.
+1 on the Gskill's, its all plug-n-play.......
thus far, I haven't had any performance or compatibility issue w/ the OCZ sticks. I have to manually set the Row Refresh Cycle Time, but that's it.
One thing I've noticed with the Rampage bios is that is was easier to get the system to boot at different settings, but at the same time more difficult to get things stable. There is an ass load of setting in there.
