If you overclock XL to XT clocks, which most XL can do, then you can compare your card against pure X1800XT and thats how fast XL can be, and even little faster, if XL can take more Mhz and voltage.Quote:

Well a slight update, my memory doesn't seem to like to go higher. Its stuck around 650 for stability. If I apply more voltage it crashes eventually, sorta similar with the core, I know I can run a few tests with it @ 635 but doesn't seem to take it after a while.
Still @ 625/650... 1.25/1.95/1.95V and thats under 60C overall temps full dual core cpu load also.
something between 8700-8800 :)Quote:

ok people i am back online after a few problems with the dslam here, so i got ati tool 0.25 beta 9 and i do get artifacts even in stock freqs. Does anyone else noticed this? by the way mine clocks to 575/600 with no artifacts at all in 05+01, but ati tool shows quite alot of artifacts, http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=1479192
My latest data.. gonna see if i can take the next person on the orb w/ a 1800xl heh (currently #7 :D - out of the 256mb x1800's)

these measuring temperatures would be better with ati tray tools, since it can show temperature in fullscreen too, which ati tool cant do, so when benchmark ends, temperature can differ from what you seen like 4 seconds ago.
can anyone in here confirm my last post?
does anyone in here have an idea if the gpu and memory location on the board of the x1800 and 7800 are the same? cause i bought a water block for my x1800 xl. i know the gpu would fit for sure but dont know about the memory. this block cools the gpu and ram at the same time dont wanna risk opening it and get charge for a restock fee if it doesn't fit.
ati(5/11) - 8791 (625.50/603.00)(1.175V,1.905V,1.905V)(cpu2.75ghz / ram 250mhz - opteron 144) - AtiTool0.25B9 - 50°C/64°C
Why 5.11 are not FM approved?
I dunno, i don't think i used drive cleaner when i went from 5.10a omega's to 5.11s. i also removed the CCC since it kept bugging out 1/2 the time (not showing overclock panel).Quote:

ati(5/11) - 8895 (621.00/630.00)(1.150V,1.905V,1.905V)(cpu2.5ghz / ram 250mhz - opty 170) - AtiTool0.25B9 - 46°C/64.4°C :)
The card temp runs up to 69°C playing Farcry on max settings @ 1600 x 1200.. so i don't think i can really go much higher without a better cooler.
You can have Ati tool log them for you, every 10 seconds or whateve interval you want. you can see where you changed clocks, ran your benchmark, and take the highest reported temp from the log file ;)Quote:

Yeah, i have to do a clean install someday - this install of windows has been used with 3 different chipsets so far rdx200, asrock, and now the eXpert.. and my dual core driver wants to install everytime i reboot... lolQuote:

For some reason nothing will read the divider i am using with my opty - using the 140 divider - the 133 at this cpu speed gave me 180mhz on the mem, so this one must be a little more
Yes its very similar. So ur waterblock will work.Quote:

i finally got my X1800 XL to OC!!! i got it to 600/1400 and am gonna try to push it further but for now i am happy
So what was the problem why you was unable to overclock before? The magic trick? :p: You thought that your memory is scrapy, but now 700 (1400) Mhz on it :toast:Quote:

Is overdrive ok to use to overclock? I just stuck the clocks at 650/775 and it was fine, 9300 in 05.
What settings are best for benching in the drivers? do i ust stick the all settings tab to performance? ive turned of A.I.
im back at 570 GPU .. anything over it, randomly hangs up, no matter what voltage i set, dont hope watercooling will improve anything at all.
similar situation here, same cooling and over 570 hungs up.Quote:

I dont why people are stopping at 6xx for the memory after the initial burst of people with 700+ memory clocks...
