I'd do it. Most week 17s should beat most week 16s. And your current chip is a bit of a clunker by most standards. Go for it! :D

Haha, yeah...I already knew it was...but it's good to hear someone else say it. Even if I get a fairly average 0517.....it'll stil be better...1.72v for 300x9 really isn't too hot, and honestly...even if i was at 1.5-1.6v I'd still be happy...cus its a little bit lower. :p:

I find out tonight if the buyer for my chip will send me the money before i ship so that I dont have any downtime...and it's only costing me about $30 or $40 difference to make the switch...so yay! :banana:

still with my 3000+ LBBLE 0516 GPAW on water managed to crush my personal best 16M and 32M times again :D

3800+ ABBLE 0504DPAW 2900Mhz Vapochill 1M 1.65 (1.60v acc CPU-Z).
It does 2850Mhz on Air 1M same voltage.

I was looking through the list and I didn't see any other ABBLE...? can post screeny, but I need to buy a wireless ethernet card first. or find my USB stick.

So either I'm missreading something, or that cooling is going to great waste...

Maybe he just needs more tweaking, 3800+ on Vapo should be able to break 3 Ghz pretty easily

You can add this also to the data base.. It ended up freezing halfway through 3dmark05 so this is not stable.. Im running at a solid 2700mhz right now with no problems. this is on air.

I've seen another ABBLE in a review, that one clocked pretty badly (compared to the good ones) as well :(

F*CK, this chip has coldbug, can't go even past my VapoChill 3246MHz SP8M through :( :(
It's very hard to past 3200MHz, no difference 1.6V-1.75Vcore..
Windows just freeze when I use ClockGen for +3.22GHz...
Contact is good, just ~10ºC between IDLE and 100% stress
Tested 5.10-2 and 3.10p BIOS, no influence :(

Have someone an idea?

Might wanna at least try out the latest official BIOS.....already heard a couple people saying that 615 fixed up some boot issues they had been having at certain clocks or with certain ram...etc...

I'm testing 615 now, it started up...

Same s*it again, cant past 3.2GHz :shrug:

Quite possibly...makes me feel a little better, knowing that I'll never be running more then a single stager on this chip.

Just had the friendly and helpful people at novatech pick me out a week 17. The poor guy had to walk all the way to the back of the stock room four times !

They only had one week 17 so I took a gamble, its an 0517 GPBW, results in a few hours.

Could you just have hit the limit of the cpu? Maybe the chip just doesn't have anything left to give ;)

:woot: So far VERY good....I haven't done ANY stability testing yet....but took the IHS off the 0517APJW, dropped it in, left it at 300x9 and set the BIOS to 1.500v and booted. Sitting in windows listening to tunes posting and checking email with no hiccups so far...300x9 running at 1.45v right now.

Even if this isn't super stable.....it's slick that I'm even in windows DOING this at this low a voltage....after I take a shower I'll drop the voltage and see how low it'll go for SuperPi 1M stable first ;)

EDIT: it's been running for 5 minutes, obviously NO burn-in yet, and at the very least, it's SuperPi 1M stable at 300x9 1.45v in windows so far...now we start dropping the votlage.

I can run 2.7GHz @ 1.32 volts in windows but it still needs 1.42 to be stable, and 2.8 isn't stable even at 1.52 volts :stick:

If I didn't have so darn high expectations I would be very happy with a 50% O/C at almost stock voltage though :toast:

Hmm, load temp below 50 is pretty nice at that voltage with cheap-o WC :)
I'm at 50C with 1.42 volts :/

Small update so far.....still no tweaking, just bumping voltage and htt slowly....memory timings all at auto, and done in my main partition (with a 200MB commit charge) so excuse the poor time...but here's where I am so far:
