Getting a WS Revolution soon, can I use this thread/info also for my board?
Do you guys have the cold boot problems ? Like you have to go in bios and save and exit sometimes cause it says overclock failed upon boot ? My POS Gigabyte board does that and its annoying so i think i might go with Asus.
someone happy with 1305 bios ??
For those who are getting random BSOD with BIOS 1305. Forcing the Idle-speed to 1600Mhz, seams to solve the problem.
I've been getting quiet a few random BSOD to start with, but then it was idling @4.5GHz. I haven't had any BSOD in 2-3 days now, and that's after changing the Idle-speed to 1600MHz buy changing Power Option=Balanced in W7. I guess the same can be done by disabling C-states in BIOS too.
It's not too bad, but you can't regret and go back. You have to try to get around potential problems, like that nasty random BSOD.
Good to know. Im happy simply reading that Asus has officially acknowledged the cold boot issue and provided some sort of a fix for it. I can't say the same for Gigabyte and i have provided them with all the evidence they needed from various cases(forums) of this "phenomena" and the response i recieved from their tech guy was not satisfactory: "B2 revision has been recalled from Intel, please exchange your board".
ok, thx guys. i will stay @1204 Bios and wait. maybe asus provides us with a better one. that we cannot go back is :shakes:
I have a lot of trouble with Dominator GT ( hyper ICs ) are there tips for run this memory?
I have a P8P67 Deluxe and a 2600k processor, the system works great and at 3.15 I have OC'ed as high as 4.8GHZ (I want to set stable 24/7 Stable at 4.7GHZ). So all is fine there, however I have 1 major and I do mean major issue.
If I overclock at all I mean from 3.4 to 3.5 or from 3.4 to 4.7 then the system will not boot correctly if shutdown. If I reboot everything is fine, but if I shutdown the system (sleep or hibernate), then when I try to start it up it fails to start.
The failure occurs in that the PS and fans spin up, but that's it, nothing is initialized on the MB and I have to hold power for 5 second to force reset the system (I've left it like this for over an hour without any change). Then it will reboot say that OC'ing failed press F1, I do so just go to discard and it boots fine, and OCs without issue. I've tried every BIOS released to date all react the same way, I have also change PS units as I thought it might have been bad, os it is something to do with the MB and CPU.
My problems come from the fact that this is very annoying especially as I normally boot this box remotely and it if does not start then I need to physically go to it to force it to startup, which is not always possible when working remotely.
I'm looking for why this MB and CPU is crap when it comes to being able to start correctly and how to fix it since its current behavior is 100% unacceptable.
Thanks,
ERIC
Await hyper friendly bios mate... I an run mine at 1866 CL7-7-7-21 1.6Vdimm, 2133 no go ( worked fine with the ES CPU though )
Use bios later than 1053, after bios flash, Reset the Cmos and pull the battery for 30 secs... if you don't do the latter oyu might get stuck with the issue you are having right now... got a Vanilla, Pro, Dlx, Sabretooth and H67 M Evo here : all no cold boot, but the flash needs to be properly executed...
Using 1204 Bios - no cold boot problem anymore
I'll pop in the sabretooth, be back this evening with bios shots for 1866 cl7, Vdimm here is 1.6 for 24/7 usage

1204 BIOS and nothing but problems, wtg ASUS
- Rebooted after installing Office -> no more SLI (tried various WHQL and Driver Cleaner and it's a clean install from 1204 BIOS :()
- BSOD: Memory_Management (doesn't like my week old G.Skill ECO 1600MHz 7-8-7-24 1.35V)
- BSOD: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (this is related to my non-functioning SLI)
- Cold boot issues. The actual "bug" seems to be gone (OC fail) but I still get no action sometimes when I want to cold boot or it clears CMOS for no reason
Mailed the store. When I get a B3 I'd prefer a Gigabyte board like my P55... Sometimes you win sometimes you lose I guss
Are you sure your memory isn't going down ? which slots are they in ?
4 banks 4 sticks but it's not the RAM. worked flawlessly on my i7.
reinstalled 7 x64... no SLI :(
SLI is fine here (GTX460) with the Sabretooth, not a new install, just Win7 with SP1 from last month...
Have you upped the IO voltage for the 4 dimms ?
my biggest issue with the p67 pro is that it just takes forever to get to the bios screen, even when it is going to boot properly. prolly take 15-20 seconds just to get to the bios screen. other than that is seems pretty friendly on 1253 bios
Updated #0 with info on SATA issue.
Since they allow RMA's until end of june, maybe we should wait as long a posible. They might do minor tweaks to the board in that period.
Any thoughts? Personally i'm in no rush since I only have SSD + HDD.
P8P67 pro 1204 1305 bios can not use SLI.
please give me new bios for SLI. WOW .... ASUS !!!!!!!! I trust you for many years , please donot waste my money. I donot want to refund my new GTX 570.
Tried a reinstall ? On the sabretooth everything is a okay...
