I posted the link for the bootable floppy.

Humm, just ran memtest v2.1 & get errors running anything under 8-7-7-20
I tested one at a time & found that 1 is bad. (Note: Runs At Stock Error Free)
1800MHz - 1900MHz 8-8-8-20 1.9v pulls 0 errors on both sticks, but if I increase 1.92v I get errors.
CAS 7 will not run 2gigs error free because i'm sure 100% 1 is now bad.
If I use the 1 good one, I can run 7-6-5-18 @ 1T 1800MHz - 1900MHz all day.
Viper 1800MHz 8-8-8-20 @ 2T 1.9v is rated speed, do you guys think the 1 stick will still cause problems in the system with the above noted information?
I can't use the floppy version because it doesn't like Vista 64. I dl the bootable USB version 2.01 and stuck it on my USB stick.
Frist try it loaded and got stuck instanlty, frozen. Reboot 3 times and all I get is a blue screen that say memtest x86 2.01 and it's frozen(doesn't even get to testing. I don't think it's compatible with my setup.
Haha!

Beta Version 0704 2008/05/29 update
OS All OS
Description BIOS update file for Striker II Extreme (Version 0704)
1. Fix data corruption issue.
File Size 748.06 (KBytes)
-----------
So this guarantees that no more corruption issues? Am I still on the brink of corruptions (still on 0703)?
@ slim.
Your config rocks! Running at 1750FSB, 1600Mem ... settings and voltages as you told me.
With 1800 FSB vista hangs up and nothing happens.
But with 3500Mhz 2x2gb corsair 1600, and 88Ultra SLI (@655/1350/1595) i have got 186xx 3Dmarks! YEAH!
@ 0704 bios
I do believe that you are correct m8.
From the very first few corruptions I was thinking about the memory dividers having issues.
Those may be the culprit. Now who's...gonna test all the possible "real-life" dividers and make a list of the working and not working ones ? :p: :D
Well... you can wait, as I'm crazy enough to test all of them.
But it will take some time as I have several reviews to finish.
Oh noes!!!
Im getting video freezes
I can move files (tried 7gbs big) around HDDs, install 4-6gbs programs, surf the net, download stuff, run 3dmark 20 times, run prime95 for 25 hours but whenever I watch a video it freezes after 20 secs??? I have reinstalled windows and also codecs but nothing...
Wow, Im not 100% estable after all
Is this a sign of corruption problems? (read my above paragraph cause I doubt this)
I think I will give 0704 another try soon...
Grrrrrr......... I want a solution to this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Are you freezing in windows or BSoDing? or BDoDing before getting to windows? details plzQuote:
I tried that, didn't fix it, I just got another corrupt issue, damnit. Same area, always is the "\Windows\System32\config\system"
Will try that for sure! (Read above), but sometimes the RAM speed wont change until you increase like 20Mhz, thats the problem.Quote:
I'm running 0704 here and it does not fix the corruption issues. But from all my playing around with the board it only happens with specific DRAM multipliers so if you get corruption issues try and lower or raise RAM clock one notch if you're running unlinked.
Can you play videos to see if you freeze please? I mean 700mb movies cause Im getting freezes (read above).Quote:

Glad my config worked for you ^^
My divider is 9:16 and everything works but my video freezes. Will try increasing RAM by a notchQuote:

i used your settings ... read my post in the other thread 790i.thread...
BUT im on 704... no video errors so far ...
I finally got my rig stable at 1800fsb with 1600 memory, but it doesn't seem to like doing any higher on the memory because i tried sync and it would lockup mainly during any stress test.
But 3.6Ghz at 1.325 is sexy, I want it to have my babies now. But if i can get it working at 1800mem that would be nice too.
Back on 0704
Going to start from scratch to find my sweet spot on this BIOS since I dont want to be left out in the dust of brink of corruption.
I cant believe how estable I am as long as I dont watch videos on 0703... thats just dissapointing
27 mins remaining, testing at 1850FSB 1650mem, so far so good. It seems this unlinked divider is good.
Yesterday i watched something on youtube and suddenly the sound was kind of weird... "OH NO!" I thought ... "The same video problem?" But nothing more happend... Even 4 Gig videofiles run smooth.
Hope you'll find your problem ...
btw do you use eSata harddisks and which? Cause Ive got serious problems with my wdbook500gb and the jmicron. But only with eSATA ... no probs with USB?!
You're lucky. I am unable to get past 1840MHz on my S2E, whatever memory setting I use. Is there something I could be missing? On a positive note, my 1600MHz rated 4GB memory, easily did 2000MHz at 9-9-9-24 2T on stock voltage, although the memory benchmarks were slightly better at 1840MHz with tighter timings. This puts me off upgrading to some of the faster new memory coming out (OCZ 2000MHz RAM has 9-9-9-28 Timings!!) , which basically offers these same timings, albeit probably with 1T command rate. How much difference would the 1T make?
Haha, tried your settings and run prime 95 blend for 3h30 stabile
I used mp 10 (4255mhz) and all GTL-REF @ auto
Bios 0512

So happy as i was, this morning startup memtest 86+ v2.1 and my screen coloured red, thousands and thousands of errors
Maybe prime doesnt stress the memory enough, or the whole memtest program is incompatible with nf790i ?
Anyway priming @ synced 1740 7-7-7-2T right now :)
Going to test those ones...
Like cracking sounds? I might be able to help you out on that one ;) I found out how to fix it with x-Fi chips, just let me know.
So you can run 4gbs videos... i wonder what my problem is then :(
And to answer your ?, no I dont use eSATA, all my HDDs are SATA. I have 4 HDDs, I can watch movies for like 2 mins then it will freeze and you can hear a beep then I have to restart...
I've got an audigy 4 chip ... maybe its similar to x-fi chips... So what did you find out?
to your prob...
Perhaps you can try "my" settings ;)
with 1750 FSB and 1600 MEM...
That sucks Justfire, I got through memtest ok with those setting..I even passed lowering RAM volts to 1.9 now. BTW are you cooling your RAM? I bought the silly OCZ fan cooler for the RAM because I happen to touch one of the sticks when priming and it was amazlingly hot. I now have one of my ESA temp sensors stuck to it to monitor the temp. Gets upto about 58c. Think heat maybe your issue?
