I like your approach there ;) . Let me get it straight though--a couple of questions:
1. That heatpipe from the NB went to the Southbridge before modding?
Or have you re-engineered your NB heatsink and inserted a new heatpipe?
2. Has the other end of the heatpipe been inserted through the fins of the TTBT? If so, did you simply drill through the fins and insert the heatpipe? ...depending on above, drilled through NB heatsink too?
3. Have you used anything (glue, solder, etc) to affix the heatpipes to their counterparts?
Actually, looking at the picture again I can see some of the answers, but if you don't mind, please humour me. I can see potential for more innovative mods coming my way ;)
